Cosmic thoughts…. Another epic Philly show just crackling with energy! Love that first big jam in Tumble w/ Peter strumming fast tempo rhythm guitar and Slick layering those great blues tinged funky licks over the top. I contend that it’s physically impossible to stay still during this part of the jam and the solo from Tweekz. Oh hell yeah! Wish I’d been there, back to the greatest city in the world (go birds), to experience this Tumble in person. *Cosmic side note: Wouldn’t mind even more effects from The Great Stoic One and seriously dude, please never EVER stop wearing the jean jacket and shades. You actually look a little strange without them now. Time for the guys to take us down to dream land before we get tumbled (see what I did there?) right back in to a friggin cacophony of sound to get our blood pumping for the break. As for the second set, while it barely lasted an hour, I’d still say everyone got their money’s worth. Generally speaking, they really hit their stride on this run and I can’t wait to see what’s next from the greatest band in ALL the land! gooooose!
@@widespreadGoose You’re right, it starts before that, went even further, to 38:01. You guys find things I missed on any shows, lmk. Want to get it right for everyone 😊
I will say, this band is epic live. This doesn't do justice. The energy they emit is electrifying. I went cuz someone had an extra ticket and i literally cried thats never happened to me before 🤗
The Mann that night was perfect. Place was buzzing, beautiful weather, great set, great lot scene. Hope they bless us with some multiple night runs next year.
@@mica7153 Curious to know what point in the show you were hit emotionally like that mica? Maybe during Western Sun? I could see that, though bliss in Tumble could do it as well. Regardless, it’s pretty cool to hear when Goose can have that kind of affect on someone.
I had never seen them live. Watched a few streams over the last 2 years at my friends house. He had been trying to get me to go see them for those previous 2 years. Buddy called up and said I got a free ticket for you, so I went. The Mann has always been a favorite venue of mine and I’ve seen many shows there. Anyway the lot was buzzing, good vibes everywhere. My buddy had pavs, but I joined another group of friends on the lawn. Long time friends that rarely make it to shows these days, as we are are getting older, so it becomes harder to break away from the family. Well from the moment the show started I was locked in. I haven’t been locked into a band like this outside of phish in forever and if I’m honest probably more locked in to this show than any phish show I’ve seen in over 20 years besides Gamehendge on NYE. The 5 of us on the lawn had the time of our lives, especially being treated to No Rain and In Your Eyes. I guess those songs hit differently for us mid 40s and 50 year olds 😂. Anyway Tumble literally left my jaw on the lawn, but the entire show was epic and lucky for me, they didn’t play a single song I didn’t know, which was surprising, since I’ve really only watched about 5 shows and hardly listen to music outside of a live show. Legendary night and I can’t wait for Holmdel in a few weeks!
Only one I saw, but I could see how it was! I streamed Colorado and Atlanta nights 2 and saw this live, and what an epic show. I said to my friends it’s the most locked in I’ve been at a show since phish over 20 years ago
Right? I was so excited to have tix to Forest Hills, which was still a great show... But I looked at the Mann setlist and the next morning and was highly deflated, haha
That Tumble is CHEF'S KISS 💋 😘! Almost make ya Tumble over yourself boogie'n down.. holy crap! If you don't dance to that.. then something may be wrong with you lol
It’s difficult to decipher from the official recordings just what Trevor’s bass said that fateful night. This is what I discovered…. A very large gentleman sporting some (heavily stained) onesie pajamas that he glued feathers onto was sure he heard: “Sick Tumble am I right? My boy Tweekz is the coolest, now watch me take flight!” However his drunken friend, adorned in a full Eagles uniform, insisted that the guitar really said: “Tweekz sure loves the ladies but my boy is so 80s.” Another attendee who was spun completely out of his mind claiming that this was his 420th goose show and that he remembered Jerry playing The Mann way back in “76, swore he heard loud and clear from the bass: “My boy Tweekz looks so dope and he knows it. Got much more rhymes than him but he’s the poet” When asked about it backstage, Trevor, oddly wearing nothing but his bass guitar with golden tassels on his nipples and completely surrounded by a horde of teenage groupies, simply shrugged, grinned sheepishly and proceeded to launch straight in to “Another One Bites The Dust”. So, unless someone riding the rail made a clear enough recording, we may never know for sure what Trevor’s bass guitar really said in its solo during that incredible Tumble jam on such a wonderful night in Philly.
Finally got to see close up how Rick gets that feedback right before he rips the solo. He picks a harmonic with the volume knob on his guitar all the way off and then cranks it up after it’s already ringing?
the part that starts at your timestamp is the written/composed part of the song's instrumental portion that is pretty much played the same way every time and the launchpad for the open ended jams that follow.
The word “bumps” is missing from their name. Put on the headphones on damn near any live performance, hit the guitar ebb and flow - and there they are…
Check out the setlist. Time stamps can help familiarize you with the tunes. Goose has a large catalog too, so it takes a little time but before you know it All I Need ahem I mean all you need is to hear the opening notes!

My guess you've never seen Phish.
Had tickets to this show, and had to pass to take care of family stuff. So happy that I can watch it over and over again here.
Tumble was definitely the jam of the night! But Silver Rising>Atlas Dogs> Flodown was amazing!
I’ve been blessed to be able to see hundreds of live shows and this was easily top 3! Groovy, Spiritual and down right electric! 💥🕺🏻😮💨 🫠
Remember after Tumble just turning to my sister with my jaw on the floor. Very excited for this.
I was there solo. And I absolutely remember thinking after that Tumble, "I need to find someone to hug, that was incredible" 😂
Admittedly I was kinda skip clicking through the show until I landed on Tumble and let that one play out
I call that Tumble the Chomper Crusher. Even THEY STFU...
That tumble alone was reason enough to feel whole. What an incredible show.
Goose is by far my favorite band!!!
Was at this show with my two sons. The highlight of my summer! Amazing show - thanks, Goose.
We are sure lucky to have these guys playing tunes for us. Dumping rain in AK, but the dog team is rockin out today!
Hanging on, they've taken all
But we won't lay back down
Tumble! It doesn't matter if you are a longtime Goose fan or new fan this is one of the best jams ever!
That “No Rain” cover!!!
Hell yeah
It's been a while since I checked in with this lot, and to my ears they are continuing to get better. Sounds sweet!

@kevinminor9946 Welcome Kevin, happy to have you on board the bus!
This is such a good show, thanks guys! Hoping to see y'all in September at SPAC
I listen and I become so overwhelmed with joy that I cry!!! Thanks guys🎉
Philly! hell yeah, thanks goose!
I remember a quote from Jerry saying, "if you change just 1 member of a band, you now have a entirely new band". He knew what he was talking about...
Can't wait for Goosemas
Was at this show! What an unreal place to be with these guys sharing those moments!
wAs such a great show to be at with my friends/neighbors
Your eyes…the most amazing guitar tone from Rich!!
