Aw, thank you - it was a little late in the month, but I did end up getting lots of fun Christmas photos in the house after she decorated (wrapping presents, baking cookies, sleeping dolls waiting for Santa to come, opening gifts on Christmas morning, etc.) ...I hope you had a great holiday, Michelle!
Hey Kristie! I actually made those vintage/retro Christmas cards on your dolls’ mantle. My own illustrations I created a few years ago. I scaled them down to doll-size and sold them as a set in one of the Facebook groups. Your dollhouse looks amazing - so sweet of Grace to take on the decorating this year. I haven’t touched our dollhouse in quite a while and watching your tours inspire me. Happy holidays - they came so quick this year!!

And thank you for the backstory of how much goes into decorating, from getting the command strips to sorting through all the cute items that help set the scene, deciding what goes where, and making sure the lights are on. I always thought i was horrible at decorating for my dolls because it took me longer than I thought it would, but your sharing of your process helped me relax about it.
Oh! I forgot to say that I put one of 5Hens' mini calendars on my fridge so I can see it, one goes in the treehouse clubhouse, and one goes in a dolly study area set up on a shelf.
Oh, you're very welcome. My mother is BIG on seasonal decorating. She probably has 20 large totes (at least) and goes all out. It takes her weeks. So when I put up 3 full sized Christmas trees and two small ones and feel utterly exhausted, she is NOT the one I complain to lol. There definitely a predictable arc every year for me: contemplate all the work and do the lugging, carrying, etc (yuck), do the actual decorating (work, but fun), enjoy the fruits of my labor (YESSSSS!!!), contemplate the work of take-down and storage after the season (sad), actually do that work (yuck), and know that it was worth it and I'll do it all again next year (bc of course I will). Same thing for my dolls, just on a much smaller scale.
It was lovely! Grace did a wonderful job. I don't have a dollhouse (our rental unfortunately doesn't have the room), but I do plan taking Christmas themed photos with our tree (when we put it up)! 🤣
lmao at the tree not being up yet. You ever see those Christmas movies where the put it up on Dec 24th? My German friend Ina was like that and I always felt like, "why????" but to each their own lol.

I looks great! I love this dollhouse so much, and while I have a dollhouse with bedroom scenes, I want a permanent kitchen and living room setup like this. Maybe someday. I don’t have a ton of space. I’ve set up my holiday living room and kitchen on the floor under a folding table. It works for now. I’m a big fan of the Target ornaments section, too, especially the mini pillows!
I think if we *had* made this dollhouse two levels, I would put the bedrooms (and a bathroom) on the first floor and move this part to the second floor (just to give it more light) because it's my favorite part. So many of our own memories are made in the kitchen, dining, and living room :)
Like you, I’m running behind. I just got back to the Ststes on January 15th from visiting my daughter in Paris. I’m still jet lagged and my brain is fuzzy. I started decorating my own house and the dollhouse before I left. My house got further along than the dollhouse. I just started changing my dolls for the holidays yesterday. I think 🤞🏼I’m fine Christmas shopping. I’ve never been this late before. It was fun to see how Grace decorated the dollhouse. Sometimes it’s nice to have options, and sometimes it’s overwhelming. She did a great job.
That was so smart of you to start decorating before you left. And if I have to prioritize, I will always pick decorating OUR house over the doll house(s). That's what I did this year because I knew motivation was in short supply. So I'm glad Grace was up for it! I hope your visit was fantastic - I got to see some bits of it on IG :)

I have somewhat of a dollhouse this year -- only a living room and a kitchen so far on a shelf where I keep my dolls. I found stuff at hobby lobby that I added. I also have a mini Christmas tree with mini ornaments and craft store present boxes in the doll display. I have shared a bit of my Christmas doll decor on my Instagram. I only started collecting last December though, but I plan on getting more decor this year, especially if I manage to get a dollhouse like I plan to when my bf and I move apartments sometime in the new year before summer as I stay in my college dorm during the semester.

I always love your doll house tour videos. Grace did a nice job. I love the idea of using ornaments for the wall hangings, pillows and such. I have two dollhouses. One is in storage, and the other one is in my new husband’s living room. I am anxiously waiting to move in to one of the houses he recently inherited. I will be able to have 2 doll rooms there! I am so excited! In the meantime I have hoarded up my apartment, as well as his garage, living room, and one of his bedrooms. All with American Girl doll stuff. Since you have multiple doll houses, is this the only one you tend to decorate? I could understand if it was a little overwhelming to decorate all of them each season!
It depends on the year. Last year I mainly focused on this one for Christmas, but I did a big winter scene downstairs and then just added a dash of decorations in the other dollhouses. This year I'm focusing on this one only :)
Thank you for the tour the house looks great, Grace did a wonderful job. The current doll house belongs to the girls so they do what they feel like. I am picking up little things when I see it in hopes of getting my own doll house next year mainly to display my historical collection. I have so many things at this point it will probably look like Christmas threw up LOL. Mainly for Christmas it is dressing the dolls some in PJs and some in Christmas outfits for me. We never did the elf on the shelf but it looks like a lot of fun with the little one.
So is that a command strip hook that holds 5hens’ calendar? I was trying to figure out how to hang it in my dollhouse without putting a hole in the wall. I’m such a fan of these! I get one every year. 😊
Yep, the tiny clear command strip hooks work well. the hook is too big to go through the holes in the calendar pages so I loop a tiny hair elastic through the hole and hang *that* on the command hook. I should cover the hook up with a bow but usually don't lol.

I personally don't celebrate holidays, but my dolls do. This year, my Dollcave won't be decorated because I broke my toe and have to stay off my feet for 6-8 weeks, while it heals. I did enjoy your decorated dollhouse.
I thinks it’s great to get into the holiday spirit. In the past I put up seven trees of all sizes. This year was just two 7.5 trees and a small 4ft and my doll tree and the doll tree put a smile on my face. It’s lots of work to put it up and take it down.
@ I only did three trees this year plus the AG tree. I usually will do six trees a year. Two pastry trees, Frozen “Elsa” tree, a Jack Skellington tree, an ocean/sea tree, and a food tree. Sorry I counted the AG tree in my collection which would make it seven, I got it this year so not all seven out all at once this year.
@ My Jack Skellington tree and Frozen Elsa trees are very popular. My macaron tree and doughnut tree comes in second. I’m not religious, do love to decorate for the holidays.

When I decorate, it helps SO much but some years I really struggle to motivate myself to do the WORK part of decorating (lugging heavy totes, getting Christmas trees down from overhead garage storage, etc). I did manage to get everything up, though, in our home and it looks SO lovely. It'll make me sad to take it all down, so I'll leave it up as long as is socially acceptable lol.

I like it. I wish it were a bit more matte, but what I love is the extra storage space we got for our miniature foods. I had been looking for just a random piece, hoping I'd luck out with some cool thrifted shelving that would work, but things were always off dimension-wise (shelves were too tall, too squat, too narrow, too deep, etc) and since this one was designed for dolls, the dimensions are spot on. Quality-wise, the Queen's Treasures hutch would be much better, but I don't remember the price difference between the two.

Oh, that depends on so many factors! Do you have a small collection? A larger one? Is it in a state of growth? Do you play with their hair, or does styling and maintaining their hair overwhelm you? Will you be picking the doll out yourself in store or ordering online? Those answers could impact my answer, but without knowing those answers I would say Rebecca - She's an underrated beauty, her hair is log enough to do stuff with but not so long it might be overwhelming, and it's nice for AG to see love for their older historical dolls (assuming you're buying it directly from AG).
I'm not buying it my aunt is for me I'm a teen and I have a small collection I have samantha maryellen and grace and I'm also getting sage from my dad but I love all 3 of them but I thought I'd ask u because u have so many dolls and have been collecting for a long time I do play with the haif I play with them also I'm working on making a doll house and she's buying some accessories too I'm going to get a wire brush bc I don't have one ik that's bad but I didn't really care at first what brush curlers an outfit from our generation and a pet from our generation so yah
