hey writing tip. use the colon : for demonstrating dialogue and then use brackets [ ] for descriptions. then I like to use parentheses ( ) for describing things within a string a dialogue, like if a character does something at the same time that they are speaking. and squigly brackets { ), ( } as a notation for when I make a note about the structure of the piece while writing inside of the piece. like this Buddy: my name is Buddy and I'm a total dude! [Buddy is indeed doing dude things to show just how dude he truly is] Guy: and I'm guy. And thats all. (just stands there) {and its times like this when I would make a note here to remind myself just what the point of the scene is, what its supposed to be adding to the storyline, if there were mistakes or changes that needed to be addressed, etc.) (and thus concludes this random writing tip! keep imagining and exploring narratives even when they're crap} Buddy: go beyond!
