- Hurricane Beryl is churning toward Jamaica after the Category 5 storm slammed Grenada on Monday and reached 160 mph by Tuesday. The deadly storm caused widespread damage to structures, according to reports. Meteorologists Jessica Burch and KC Sherman have the latest forecast, and CBS News correspondent Tom Hanson reports on storm preparations in Montego Bay.

The entire country is preparing. Just praying no lives are lost during the hurricane.
At least you dont live in Indiana though. Its really boring there and there isnt much scenery. It is so far from the ocean, and it gets cold in the winter. So I think I would rather be in Granada during a hurricane than living in Indiana at, any time of the year.

We are in the Grand Cayman and it's sunny and hot! We are prepared. Our buildings standards are very strong but storm surges are always a worry.

No, it hasn’t actually. The AHS starts on June 1 and ends November 30. It started right on time. What’s abnormal is how strong this storm is; storms early in the AHS have never been this strong. Beryl is only the second storm of the 2024 AHS and it’s a sledgehammer. THAT isn’t normal.
