One of my longest lasting and closest friendships is with a person who happens to be an academic classical music composer and an erudite whose intellect and talent impress not only on those they encounter, but at the same time the circles around them; and this friendship has offered me spectacular insights over the decades, one of them being a metaphysical comparison of a flawless piece of music to a universe with its own laws of nature that are perfectly mirrored in the way the music progresses as its different pieces crosstalk to each other in the dimension of time, such as the case is with masterpieces like Shostakovitsch’s Fifth Symphony, that is to me a portal to one of those universes on par with a psychedelic trip; a piece of music that offers transcendental and dissociative experiences I keep looking for in other kinds of music and that I have found in the work of Pyrit and both of his albums which I have devotedly enjoyed and gifted to my friend, in hopes he would embark on the same journeys, where all three of us, the author and my friend and me, will be able to meet and fade away much like another of my closest friends whom I have gifted those records as well, and who has been being taken on such journeys ever since.
