    What a beautiful valley 😊. And the houses remind me some villages in my country (Portugal). I could notice too the way some roads are made with the stones. They remind me some of the roads made by the romans. Maybe they are. There are still several of them all over Europe. Despite having at least two thousand years they are well preserved. And some bridges and aqueducts. They were very good engineers. And had lots of working hands too... Slaves... And prisoners. Despite that, we can't deny their ability for construction.
    I loved to see Rasta walking on the bridge, always looking back to see where you were 😁. My beautiful Rasta 😍, always so obedient and intelligent.
    Thank you for sharing again dear Sylvia. Your work is fantastic 😘

    The stone masonry of Ticino region is so amazing- thank you for your extensive filming of it. Each stone had to be moved, split, smoothed, then stacked to build a wall or roof, and they are heavy. Those masons had muscles. And it got cold in the winter. We are wimpish today, in comparison.

    I visited Val Maggia in 2009, took a trip up to Val Bavona and further to Foroglio... One stop at Grotto Baloi, for the coincidence of names' sake ! It was in june, weather was perfect, a dream trip! Very beautiful scenery, and even if it was very crowded, it was an avalanche of tourists - I can't complain, I was one of them - I felt the spirit of the places... It is like a walk through the giants working places - that glacier carved valley with big erratic boulders abandoned every now and then made me feel like the sculptors took a break from work but they're going to return any second! And the village of Foroglio with it's stone tile house roofs looked like a gnomes village from Tolkien's books! And the falls of Foroglio... Wunderbar!!! Very nice to see those places again, in a more intimate light! I said I would come back someday, revisiting the places, still didn't, but still hoping to!

      Yes, in summer, of course, the beauty of these places is unbeatable. And if you are there early, then it has even few tourists:) I will certainly come back in the spring!

    I hiked with my Swiss friend up the neighboring Val Verzaska to Sognono and down to Locarno. These stone houses were similar and the scenery also equally beautiful.

    Very charming Val Bavona wirh its hidden gems like Foroglio. I imagine how these beautiful villages are plenty of life during the Summer. The houses built by stones are impressive. Similar houses I have seen in the Pyrenees as well as in Sierra de Guadarrama in central Spain. Thank you for this beautiful and relaxing excursion, Sylvia!

    why is it so quiet Sylvia, there are no people at all, even though the place is very nice, so it looks very scary, dry, not even green,The models of the houses are also unique, no one passes on the road, you are super Sylvia and rasta are always happy, always successful.

    INTERESSANT!
    Viel Stein, viel Arbeit an diesen Konstruktionen, kein Mensch.
    Wir warten darauf, dass Sie einen alten Mann finden, der sich an einem Steintisch ausruht.
    Wo sind die Leute?

    • @SylviaMichelPhotography
      @SylviaMichelPhotography  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Im Winter sind die Dörfer hier praktisch unbewohnt. Es ist kalt und die meisten Häuser haben keine Heizung. Im Sommer sind dafür Tonnen von Touristen hier - dann siehst du vielleicht auch den alten Mann beim Steintisch:)

    nobody lives permanently in Foroglio? and neither in Roseto nor Sonlerto. Why don't people live in these villages?
