Just wondering do you think that neolamprologus similis would work better than the brevis with the cyprichromis I currently have 9 cyprichromis wanting to add some similis just wondering your thoughts
Mathew Cobb , I threw out a coffee table that I don’t use and rearranged my furniture so I could fit my new 150 gallon in my living room. I am going to make it a discus tank. I still love African cichlids.
Oh that opening shot is sooo beautiful! They look amazing with that scape!!! Always just amazing videos!! Loved learning about all these fish! Thank you so much for sharing I hope you all have an amazing weekend! 🙏👍🌿🐟🌱♥️
Wow, beautiful! I just picked up 13 for my 33L with 9 orig. julidochromis transcriptus. They seem to compliment each other well occupying different areas of the tank. Thanks for earlier recommendation, it's working!
Cyprichromis are awesome! I had a booming colony of them two years ago in a 40 breeder, until I had to downsize. Regret selling those fish. Never found as good a strain as those.
Cyprichromis are neat fish. I’d love to do a tank with them combined with some shelldwellers someday. I’ve also only ever seen them at a local store once, and they were $130 a piece lol
You guys are always bringing unique species into view. I want to do a 40g species specific colony tank. I have so many community tanks already, but just cant decide on who to choose. I love them all.
Jason, I need your help. I bought 18 of these fish from Daves Rare Tropical Fish, and introduced them to my 45 gallon tall 3 weeks ago. Today I did a water change on all my tanks in my fish room, for the 45 tall I did a 50% change, preceded by a dose of safe (same dosage I have been using for years). I have been doing this for years on my larger cichlid tanks and up to 70% WC without any losses. In any event, all the Cyprichromis leptosoma (all 18) were dead within an hour of the water change. All the other tanks in my fish room underwent 70% WC this afternoon using the same water and the same jar of Safe. All the other fish are perfect and eating well within an hour of their water changes. Any ideas what happened? The only thing I can think of is that they are super sensitive to Sodium Thiosulphate and this is what killed them. I have 1400 gallons of fish in my room, I am a Biologist too, and this is the first time something like this has happened in several decades- I am stumped. Any insights would be most welcome?
I had something similar happen in my fish room - lost some fish in certain tanks right after a water change, but most of the tanks were fine afterward. The only thing I could think of was it had rained heavily for a few days before the water change, which made me wonder if the tap water was treated differently, or if there was some type of chemical in the tap water. I used Safe in our Cyp tanks for years without any issues.
@@PrimeTimeAquatics thank you. The thing I cannot figure out is why the aquarium changed just before and just afterwards had no problems. I do think the culprit was chlorine, in my other tanks I have circulation running as the Safe and new water are being added. The other tanks are larger too, and the refill time intervals take longer. Again thanks for the insights.
My Gouramis and Tinfoil got red spot on their body. One on each. I've started treating tank with capsules , the seller of fish gave me.... Is anything else required for precautions and getting them get well?
@@PrimeTimeAquatics I see a lot of tanks online that are just covered in it. I assumed it must grow very quickly, and spread like a wildfire. Glad you've got it under control.
Hey, I wanted to start getting into the fish keeping hobby recently and I kinda need suggestions. My friend is giving me a 60 gallon aquarium he doesn't need. Could you suggest any fish? Right now I'm sure I'd want around 3 Kuhli Loaches and 10 Rumynose Tetras. I think I want a larger variety of small fish and 1 or 2 large fish to be a centerpiece. If you could help that would be awesome. Thanks!
Hey, I had a question, I have a 20 gal with 2 small tetras, but I keep getting seriously green water, Iv tried all the chemicals I can but they seem to be short fixes, I keep the light on for only a short time and the water parameters are within reason. Would getting plants and such solve the issue?
The most ugliest aquascape you can ever find when people are try to make it perfect which does not reflect nature. The rocks are polished not a sign of a algae anywhere.Everything is organized like a japanese garden.Remind me of artificial bows you buy at Christmastime is just ugly.I guess what I'm trying to say is that imperfection is perfection in fish keeping. Also they have World Championships in aquascaping which also ridiculous and nonsensical. This is a hobby not a competition.Your aquascaping is just perfect because it's imperfect.

I am so excited about my new 150 gallon tank that is cycling! The fish you showed in this video are beautiful.
Marty Borst enjoy the tank! 😀
Best aquarium I have ever seen with Tamganyicans! That crypt could take such hard water 😱 wow. Will try it 👍
Thank you!
Love the lake Tanganyka fish. Gonna get rid of my couch to make room for a 125g

Enjoyable video. Beautiful tanganyika fish especially like how calm and peaceful they are.
I have 6 of these, both beauty and peaceful.

"Not really a display tank" I've watched this video like 13 times because of how nice this tank is!
Thank you :-)
Very nice looking fish, another one added to the ever growing list of must have fish ( If the LFS ever gets any) 🤓
Mark Hunter very much worth it!

Jack Adair wow that is an insane price!!
Hi it's look awesome 👍 but I have question, what is the name of shell cichlid down under? I like them
That is Neolamprologus brevis

Shawna that’s usually how the tank collection grows. 😀
Love these guys!
If only i could find them!

Great information

Alex Daredia hard to say for sure. Maybe make sure they aren’t being attacked by another fish?
@@PrimeTimeAquatics oh! Others i have are koifish and 1 Rainbow shark. Koi are very calm. I will have to keep eye on rainbow shark.....
What is your opinion on keeping cyprichromis in a taller 4 ft tank with multis?
That can definitely work!
Will they breed with other colour varieties of cyprichromis leptosoma?
Most likely they would hybridize.
How many Cyprichromis leptosoma would you recommend for a 75 gallon with good filtration? Nice setup, BTW.
Thank you! You could start with 6-8 and let them breed?
Hey Jason I have a 60 gallon Shelly tank would love to get my hand on some Cyprichromis to add would you be willing to ship them
Sorry - we only sell at local swaps and auctions when they are open. You could try the Wet Spot?
Is that black beard algae in that tank?
We have a little in a lot of our tanks. If we maintain our tanks well it never grows out of control.

Keaton Scott maybe this will help? th-cam.com/video/YFx0bb5ZwpI/w-d-xo.html
Wow. I want a tank of these.
Can I keep gupppies with them
Water parameters and diet are similar. You probably wouldn't see any guppy fry.
Use oolite sand!
My cyprichromis aren't showing much color. Could they happen to be all females?
Brian Kennedy quite possibly. The males start showing color at a fairly young age.
Cant find them anywhere
FinnMoon Ratzo they are a little harder to find by us and usually fairly expensive.
👍👍👍🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹...

Exactly... nature is far from perfect 👌
My biggest problem with the high end aquascapes is the maintenance. 😀
The coolest cichlid you can't get anywhere... Unless it's 1" fry @ $30+ each.
Cool tank still, I just have the jealousy.
First!
