When my wife and I were married back in 2008, we bought 250 pieces of WinCo chicken for our wedding reception! It was ridiculously cheap when you buy it in that quantity! I started shopping at store #9 in Happy Valley Oregon when WinCo was created! Stopped by there when my wife was in labor on the way to the Kaiser Sunnyside Hospital to pick up some snacks for myself. I knew it would be a long night! It was! Jerky, Pringles and dome mixed nuts sure came in handy!
Being more an introvert person I love that it's open 24 hrs. a day so I like to go and do my shopping at 3 - 4 am and just deal with the stocking people and check out is easy and quick. Great for being frugal because they don't take any credit cards. Just cash and debit. Our Winco has awsome cinnamon rolls for about $5 and are so close to homemade and cream cheese frosting ~ yummmeeeee. Also bulk is the way to buy your spices, especially if you just need a smidge of a spice you rarely use.
Winco is our #1 place to shop here in Oregon! Consistently lower grocery bills. I get sticker shock when I go into the nearby Fred Meyer/Kroger. Also they treat employees well, with long retention for many.
Gina i 5000% recommend going to the bulk food section, going to the peanut grinder machine and getting the freshly ground honey roasted Peanut butter. yes it grinds infront of your face. its not exactly smooth but nots not chunky. its kind of more of a gritty texture but the taste is sooo good.. if I still lived near one I would be getting my monthly allowance still..
Employee-owned? Count me in!! More businesses should be employee-owned. It's a great way to keep the business running in an honest and accountable way! Thanks, Gina!
Hi Gina! WinCo has great prices - loved to shop there when we lived there. FYI- when the building was originally built it was Costco. Then they quickly out grew the space and then built the building they are in now. I enjoy your channel. Have a blessed day!
Great video, never been to WINCO. I don't know if there is one in Chicago. You mentioned Darjeeling tea, I saw that tea in Fresh Farms. I'm a big tea lover. Thank you!
Some items are less expensive, you have to know your prices. But it is still my main store to Grocery shop. I love the bulk items dry goods. If you only need a small amount for a recipe, you can purchase it in the amount needed. Certain spices like pumpkin spice is seasonal. I buy enough to refill my spice bottles . I buy enough for a year. You can purchase Oatmeal, Baking soda in 25 lb bags. That was the large stacks against the wall.
We shop at Winco a lot. It's an employee owned company so I like that. I love their bulk foods. There's not much they don't have in a bulk bin . I don't worry about "germs". I get my "Cream Of Wheat" cereal, corn meal, pasta, spices, flours, rices and more. Good prices. They also have great prices on canned goods. They often have specials. They don't advertise but they do have a website and you can sign up and get coupons and other offers. They can have some good prices on meat so it's always worth a look.
The only place I can afford to shop. Never disappointed. Best sourdough bread ever and the best deli fried chicken. Honestly the best place to shop. I live in Eugene Oregon.
WinCo is my go to store for groceries. One of the smaller early stores. There are like six more in my area with more variety, but I like my little store. 19 year's as a customer there, staff calls me by first name when they see me. Good store.
our Winco between 2 towns, not that clean, prices mostly high, can find good deals on produce & i like the nut &candy bins &barrels, you scoop &bag what you want, now its in packages. that must be a bigger store, more items. ours doesnt have all the pet food or big variety chocolates in bins. years ago, Vons market use to have bins that you scoop old tyme &newer types of candy, nuts ect, where i would get my carob treats.
I love Winco! Everything is way less expensive than Raleys or Safeway near me and their produce is better. I save at least $1 to $3 PER ITEM! And these are regular brands, not just generic brands
Winco here in AZ has better prices on certain things and are great for stocking up on foods. I feel bad for the person who is in charge of stocking Walmart. I see so many empty shelves in Walmart. But the shelves are always stocked in Winco.
Just remember that every winco has similar prices but different sales. It all depends on location due to them all having different contracts with different warehouses
I live by 2 wincos but rarely go. Not sure why. I'm not impressed by their produce. I should probably go check them out. It's been a while. Thanks for reminding me.
I go to the one in Las Vegas which shares a pkg lot w Trader Joe’s. Love to buy large size smoothies at a much cheaper price there and the coffees are awesome in selection and value. Bulk bins are fun to look at selections. I found my husband’s fav trail mix that he only finds at Amazon. Snack section is priced well also chips. I’m from Hawaii so we don’t have Winco here.
Shop winco and Costco my 2 go to stores You won't beat winco prices they're bakery goods are fantastic their stores are clean can't say enough good stuff about winco their prices are fantastic

Cheaper than Kroger/Smiths, and other stores. Their canned soups are cheaper and taste better than Campbell's Soup. They have other store brands with their name. They have good bread too that they make. Get on their text list, so you can get their weekly deals.

Thanks for including Winco in your reviews. They don’t send out sales ads.
I love Winco! I find prices are on par with Costco but you don't have to buy in bulk. My go-to store!

I love Winco and really miss it since I moved from Utah to North Carolina. Especially the bins.

LOL I just checked . . . I am in Indiana, and my nearest Winco is in Oklahoma. Oh well -- looks great, though!
