Here’s a story in 1970 I worked a gas station on the freeway i worked swing shift so I was about 15 years old right around ten in the evening I looked up and the bandits pulled in about fifty at once they went to the pumps and started filling their tanks they told me they never let any one fill there tanks so you don’t mess up some of the paint jobs mean while some went in to lube bay and got tools and started working on there bikes I never said thing I was scared out of my pants when they were done they took and wiped down all the tools they used and put them back where they came from, they then paid for their gas in FULL said thanks and hit the road , true story

I had that mentally as a teen-ager, that my homeboys , that my gang was the most important thing and it got me two decades in prison , I put my reputation in front of my kids , I never let my homie down but I sure let my kids down . My majors in college were psychology and IT. In both, ‘what you observe, you also change’ and getting truth out of any particular measure can be difficult due to human beings preferring to protect themselves (judgment, association, etc). My point in all this? I know that a lot of 1%er bikers work jobs, but they’re essentially still criminals. Smart criminals don’t take reporters with them to do crimes... they show them ‘hey, we’re not such bad guys, we even help the community’.
I've always loved the Mongols motorcycle club to me that stuck together like real brothers when I first started texting the Mongols motorcycle club I told them if I was back in my younger days I would strive to be a member I can't imagine how it would be to get to ride with them
This man is so right about joining and having a good job...from being a clubber for 14 yrs i know its not cheap..on short rides alone between gas and food at the minimum can easily cost you150 bucks. A 1000 mile haul,,sleeping arrangements, gas,food and activities..easily hundreds of bucks! But politics that have plagued alot of clubs aside..i do miss the rides! Worth it!
I live in a small town in Idaho. Every year we have two Rodeos, one has Cowboys, the other has Bikers. During the Cowboy Rodeo most of the Law Enforcement officers in the County converge on our tiny town. During the Biker Rodeo you see the usual one or two deputies. The thing I have observed is that the Motorcycle Clubs actually are Self Policing when they come here. Last year we had several hundred bikers ( more than the population of this town) no fights, no problems , One Hell of a Party. I had a great time riding around town checking out the bikes, talking to the Folks. I think mostly people are somewhat intimidated by the Motorcycle Culture in general. I'm not though, but then again I am sitting in my living room looking at Scarlet thinking I really need to put new Fork Seals in her, and she could use a front tire too. Yes I ride a Harley too, no Patch, just a Lone Wolf.

I'm not a patch holder but I hang around a group. My girlfriend when we first got together had never been on a bike. I brought her to a club event and she was really nervous about going. She had seen to much TV portraying bikers as dangerous criminals. Fast forward to today and there's not an event she let's get past she doesn't mention that we should go to. She has made a bunch of close friends with the club ladies and has become closer to the club than me. She is a degree holder and works a white collar job. People are people, I know guys outside of the MC scene that are 10x meaner than anyone inside the club. Hollywood has painted the biker as a monster and the reality is different. Sure, if you piss a guy off you might get your eyes dotted but that could happen anywhere. Criminal activities? I haven't seen it. In this day and age people work for a living. They have families to support, clubs try to avoid bad news print. Nowhere have I seen a threat of death for betrayal of club rules yet the Masons repeatedly threaten death for sharing their secrets. There's no cops or politicians rocking a 3 piece so the clubs are labeled gangs and the Masons enjoy high society protection. Anyway dont think it's all sons of anarchy. Nothing like TV.

Tell them your interested in any public events their club might have going on. Remember, these are people too! Your not going to get your ass kicked unless you cross the line. Dont tell stories to inflate your image, don't tell lies, don't be too nosey about others business or the club stuff. Club houses usually won't have a liquor license and operate off of suggested tips or donations.

Sure, some members might dabble in selling narcotics and guns, but it has nothing to do with the club, it’s their choice and the clubs do not ask members to commit crimes. Also, the media and cops never say shit about all the charity work and community service that a lot of 1% MCs do. I have relatives in law enforcement that really have nothing to do with me but it’s been made clear that I’m not the sort. And that’s ok because I get to hang around, ride with and party with the club. Aside from my donations they don’t get a monthly due out of me and I’m not worried about having a patch to take care of. I probably would accept the title of prospect after so many years hanging around but I think it’s safe to say I will never get that offer😂. I can live vicariously through the countless guys who try out and wash out. These guys here are hard on prospects. The verbal abuse is terrifying at times😲lol

I have been riding since 1974. I bought Myrtle, 40 years ago, and ride to work as primary transportation today. Yeah, I am big, ugly, talk rough, and would probably kick your ass if you seriously bothered me. I am also a licenced master electrician, and many people love me, for which I am profoundly gratefull. Many of my friends I have had over 40 years. I don't get bothered much anymore by the sound of electric door locks at the red light. Or people who look down thier entitled noses at the "criminal Biker", or automatically assume That I am ignorant scum because I ride a Harley. I stick with my own culture, and that's why. If outlaw clubs wanted to make some legal side money they can just sell ridealong day access .....maybe $1000 or more to tag along with for one day including riding a bike and wearing "colors"...albeit with some verbiage like "wannabe" banner or whatever....maybe have to sign a non disclosure agreement and agree not to interrupt asking a lot of questions outside of allotted time for that ....would have to have motorcycle license and your own insurance AND prove ability before riding along.....a club could have "ride day" where they bring along like half dozen "dude" guests ...(think "dude ranch" business for wanna be cowboys ....cityslicker who play cowboy at a dude ranch) ...photo session extra and released photos subject to club approval?....Each "dude biker wannabe" maybe get's a assigned an escort for the day to keep guest in line and safe?
