Atm im considering the stigmata and the ibis haka.. The haka has a steeper headangle and can only fit 700x40 or 650bx47 wheels i think but has such a sexy frame. Which one would you choose?
I don’t get the hype. Slackmata as a concept is nothing new. Lefty Topstone done slack, suspension and dropper in same package. Daddy Cutthroat is even slacker, has massive tyre clearance and works with proper suspension fork. Stormchaser had version with Rudy and Dropper for couple of years as well and it’s technically slacker. Weight and UDH support is nothing special. Grizl CF SLX Trail is lighter and cost almost half as much. Revolt X has similar features outside of being slack daddy but geo is still decent for gnarly gravel stuff
I bought a 700C headshock in magnesium almost as light as the stock fork on Salsa Journeyman, it raised the front end to a bit floppy yet takes all the fatigue outta gravel on the arms & hands, better braking & dirt turns never a thought of taking it off. Being a headshock its legs are tiny thin vs a front shock, there can't be much diff in weight, the catch is a frame made for it, I'm lookin' at flyweight xcntry/enduro that'll fit if not custom. I just restomoded a Cannondale f800sl with grx 400 and 650b . Shame I can't post a photo. Cost less than a thousand bucks and weighs 10.5 kg with 80mm of Sus travel !! It's one shit hot ride.
Stigmata pairs well with Velveeta.....right, Ron?
Which bike do you prefer better this or you salsa cutthroat when you added suspension fork to it ?
Hey DK, love your videos! I'm currently in the Bay Area until my kid graduates in 2026 and then we are moving up to the Salem area.. I'm thinking about purchasing a bike and looking at gravel bikes for the upcoming move.. as some who doesn't like super chunky stuff (but the trails in this video seem rad and I would love to ride them!), what tire size would you recommend? Are you still a fan of the Stigmata? Also, would you take this bike over a Diverge? Them seem to check a similar box? Thanks!!
I’ve got the 2021 Stigmata and love it. But that new one would be sick. Makes me wanna upgrade.
At this point, just call it a mountain bike dude 😁😁😁
The mtbs will be too far behind 😂
What's your thoughts on the sizing of this? Sizing down with a longer stem a good fit with this rig?
I found this to fit true to size. If possible I would suggest trying one in person to see how it feels to give a true feel for which direction to go.
@@EverythingsBeenDone kinda a bummer for me, I'm 6'2" and change and it puts me between the XL and the XXL. I was fitted on to a 58cm Salsa Cutthroat a couple years ago and it felt okay for the couple of rides I put on it before I sold it. Comparing the geo between that and the new Stig I think I'd be good on the XL.
@@MikemoRidesI’m 5’11” and Large fits me perfect
@patimo6 I went with an XL and it feels perfect. Did a 101 mile ride on it my second time out and didn't have any neck or back pain. 👍
@@MikemoRides such an awesome bike 🤘
Wow… “little hazy a little mazy” sweet video!
Always the best music selection
Hi Dustin- loving the scenery- how far do you have to travel to get up into your woods?
Cool bike
Could you do the EBD bolder crashing through intro/outtro again?
I think it's cool and gratifying
‘Jurassic’. Love it. I gotta have a bike that includes ‘stigma’ in its name.
fantastic cinematography!
Absolutely love my 2021 Stiggy! Such a rad and adaptable bike!
There's a similar bike in aluminum. It's Norco Search XR A Suspension. It's cheaper too!
Hey would you be able to tell us the bike rack you are running on your van?
Wooo got my eyes on this bike 😇 bought a Grizl instead which came with the frame cracked ! Back to Canyon and will seek a Stigmata 24 asap !! Does the 23 has 50mm clearance ?
Color is Brique
anyone know what bottle cages hes using here? they kinda look like elite moreo cages but without the plastic insert and i cant be too sure
With the compatibility across all AXS platforms, it makes no sense to me why no one offers an Eagle GX AXS derailer paired with the road shifters.
I love my “mullet” setup with AXS Rival brifters and GX AXS derailer setup. I really think that would sell really well in the gravel market.
Some do. For example Fezzari, Rose, and Ridley.
Totally agree
Sick! I use my Chameleon as my gravel bike.
Have you tried the Diverge, opinion?? Colour, RON BURGUNDY
Route looks super fun!
suspensions is where I draw the line for Gravel bikes - at that point it's a mountain bike with drop bars
They used to call them monster cross. I guess the only real différance is you can buy them now as opposed to having to make them.
Now we need a comparison to the Kona Ouroboropotimus ...assuming Kona lives on to see another day.
Dude..."Volcano Sauce" is probably THE BEST NAME for that color!!! YOOO!!!
A group of bikes is called a stable, whereas a group of skateboards is called a quiver! 10:57
It really doesn't matter I just think it's neat!
I like this!
My wife's bike is 2X with a clutch rear der and I turn off the clutch all the time. Clutches also need servicing. Do you think that Acera der would work on an 11spd system?
You guys remind me of the many weird hippy characters in the Portland cyclocross scene. Fun video!
Cyclocrosser, did ok at Mstrs Natz for taste.
Good vid 🍺
@maruiacancerc Suggest a regimine of VitaminD, C, B12 of the oil dissovable type, DNA damage natural oils, tumeric, exercjse & CBD pot.
A doctor's son ⚕️🕯
Now I want one! +1 for Volcano Sauce
Sweet. They better call that color "volcano sauce" BTW.
Awesome video, as always! What do you think of the Reserve wheels relative to other carbon wheels you've ridden? I'm pretty sold on the Stigmata, just considering the build options now and that Force 2x Reserve option is so damn tempting - not sure it's in the "working class athlete" category though 😂
Do you think canyon will update the grizl soon? Before the end of the year?
THE MUSIC.... see my Tears, falling from my EYES... Shazam Finds it but not on Apple Music... is it a Local Band... Eddie and Ernie....
Cheers 🙂
Thanks!!!
First post DK. The bike is tres cool, but where’d ya get that groovy striped black/white jersey?
Radness! The Stigmata is one sexy roll machine. Much want.
🍣🔥
What a fun vid! And informative
