A classic. I wasn't born when the original came out, but I still played it as teenager, and I would always mute the sound because of the infamous Lavender Town Syndrome (even though I wasn't playing a japanese copy). I didn't fully believe it. It was more of a "I'm not sure if it's true or not, but I ain't taking the risk". Now I know that it's obviously fake, and I look back fondly on this theme as THE spooky song by excellence. All these myths made it scary and memorable beyond just its atmosphere and even beyond the game. A few years later, I would finally play Pokémon Gold beyond the first Gym. When I reached Lavender Town, I was impatient to listen to what they did with it, only to be disappointed since they removed the iconic spooky ambience from it.

Excellent. Give me the spooky vibes from the original. I was (and I'm still) disappointed that in GSC / HGSS they took the spooky part away and that the tower became a radio tower. It was a graveyard to the lost beloved partners and they were just placed to another part in the town to make the radio tower (no I'm still not happy about that - also not happy what happened to Cinnabar Island with the mansion & the journals in it). But this remix is so good. I like it!

Solid work. You made this dreary track a little more exciting.

Ah what a surprise. A spooky one to be sure, but a welcome one.
