Plantain can draw toxins and poisons out of your skin when applied topically. So, if you every get stung by a bee or bitten by a spider, make a plantain poultice, apply it to the affected area, and feel instant relief and reduction of swelling. If you’re allergic to insects, this knowledge can save your life! In this video, Sergei Boutenko discusses how to find and use plantain safely and responsibly.

I have used this plant right out of my organic lawn for years for it’s antihistamine benefits as well as other things. It’s a treasure.
Another amazing benefit of psyllium husks from plantain seeds is that they aren’t just fiber-they contain mannose, one of the eight glyconutrients (non-caloric, so it doesn’t raise blood sugar; rather, it helps balance it) that make stem cells for fast healing and recovery. Any foods containing mannose is a goldmine super food. It needs the other “essential” glycos to be the most efficient at this, but if you make a mix of all eight and eat even just a small amount every day, you stem cells can go from very few in your bloodwork one day, and within only 7 days, will have multiplied in count into the trillions in your blood work. This helps heal, repair and renew some 200+ areas of our health, and that’s only the drop in the bucket we know about. MIT calls these “the missing food group”. I learned about this from Mannatech, who has done a lot of research on them. I also bought the books “Sugars That Heal”, and “Miracle Sugars”. These are not the kind that cause problems-they are ones that fix problems, even blood glucose problems. Learning about foraging wild foods that contain these treasures is wise. I searched “foods containing the eight essential glyconutrients, lists”, made eight food lists, and have tried to eat from all eight lists by combining them into a dried mix and just taking a half tsp a day. I have no business or monetary investments in these things, but I have skirted 5 fatal illnesses by using these, cancer, COPD, Cat Scratch Disease, Pre-Diabetes and more. I have never smoked, but I did get asthma and COPD from a toxic cleaner sold in a major store we all know, containing the same offending ingredient as in Agent Orange that caused our military Gulf War Syndrome. I promise, we have to fight for our lives, not just survive, and these eight glycos as a major survival tool is known by millions, and yet drs don’t even know they are listed right in the back of the PDR (because their md curric was 70% written by drg co employees who aren’t even drs). Watch out for your health, people, it’s up to no one but you in the end. (Copy’d b4 pst)

And by the way, what I personally call those little neck threads is “bango strings”-I think there are five |||||. I’ve never heard anyone else refer to them at all, so that was refreshing. I also think of the shapes of the two varieties of plantain as “spoon” leaf shape and “butterknife” leaf shape. Hope that helps someone with ID-ing them.
      A Little Warning Story:
One day I thought I’d blend a cup of these leaves and make a smoothie and I didn’t wake up for eighteen hours-that’s how powerful the antihistamine qualities were to me, but that’s just me. I’ve never underestimated a plant since. But it did get rid of the itching from my multiple bug bites with which I was dealing. Plants are powerful. It’s like the guaiac tree (from which Mucinex is made, surprise!)-that stuff doesn’t just loosen phlegm, it will loosen the calculus right off of your teeth for which the dental Hygienist usually has to use a dental jackhammer, etc., etc. Good to know. Pray your way to answers because heaven knows what you don’t even know you don’t know yet…

I can attest to how great this plant is...We were at a family picnic a few years ago and my great niece,Gia(who was a little todler at the time) got stung by a bee and was in total tears and panic...Well,I remembered that if you chew up the leaf of this plant ,it was supposed to take the sting out...Well,it grows all over here in upstate New York so I quickly found some, chewed it into a paste and aplyed it....Everyone there was amazed how she almost immediately stopped crying...She said it stopped hurting....I kind of think I have been her hero ever since....She is a dear....

There is a very serious problem with plantain, which must never be forgotten. It is a plant that can be used by absorbing it, against different types of bleeding or hemorrhage, because it increases blood coagulation, but this very quality can unfortunately sometimes lead to a dramatic coagulation accident, that is, for example, a clot that forms in the brain, resulting in an ischemic stroke. It should therefore always be used with extreme caution, especially if it is someone who is a little fragile, elderly, for example. And if this person has already had a difficulty related to an ischemic accident, it is totally forbidden to use this plant, in whatever case. Please understand this point.

If you step on a rusty nail, put your foot under running water as soon as possible to clean the wound!! Cleaning the wound is the most important thing !! Let a little blood run from the wound to get rid of lodged bits of rust!
Do not apply chewed plantain to an open wound!!!!!!!!
If you're travelling, you sure have a bottle of hydrogen peroxide handy, so if that's a 3% one, you can pour on neat, over the wound!

I used it about 10yrs ago to treat my father in laws thumb which had got gangrene. He was cantankerous and refused to go to hospital, so my best friend, an e r nurse told him that by rights they would need to send him for amputation as it was badly tracking and had reached 'slip' stage it was so bad. He answered her that he'd accept that, If what I did didn't work! Well, I got to it with plantain washes every hour, with a honey compress, and large doses of capsicum tincture. After 12 hrs and lots of changes of disgusting dressings, the tracking had reduced. I switched to every 2 hrs, then every 4 hrs until 48 hrs later, the base of the thumb had colour. My best friend advised that it needed debriding, but still, he refused to go in, so I did it! As carefully as I could, I then immediately gave a plantain wash and used the honey again. Every 4 hrs. After 4 days, the skin had started to show pink and was showing granulation around the wound edges. After 2 weeks, there was barely a wound to see. I tell you I prayed a whole lot during that, learned a whole lot, and trusted the herbs even more than previously. I need to add that I am a herbalist. Yes! I used for a deep knife slice on the pad on my finger. Healed completely, no scars, no visible sign of a cut in 1 week. Also used on a small 3rd degree burn from a professional heat gun. That took time to heal. Also used burn ointment from Mennonite family. (B&W, I think). No scar!!! Also, no pain with the burn. Along as it was covered with ointment and plant, no pain. But the healing itch from a 3rd degree burn was worse than the actual burn. I've never felt anything like that. Thanks! I'm sharing this!

Chop it and use small twigs to get it going. Light it let it burn. When its stop smoking and it's just red flaming coals douce it with water. Let it cool the put it up to dry. Bring it inside and use a mota and pestle or a coffee grinder and grind it to power. Home made charcoal .

I'm chewing broadleaf plantain seeds and leaves right now as we speak, here in my home in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. This plant called Ekor Anjing (literally meaning 'dog tail') in my language (Malay) is a weed, growing everywhere in Malaysia , in cracks of pavement, by the ditches, roadsides, in wide open fields etc. I pulled one from street side, and planted in my yard, since then I have a lot of the plant because of the seeds dispersed by the first original plant..I'ma harvest the leaves soon and make salad, the plant is growing with another edible weed in my yard, pepper elder (Peperomia pellucida)

I tell people plantain is my first love of weeds. If I had known how wonderful it was for itching, I would have looked like I was molding my whole childhood 🤣 My lastest love and I say latest because who knows what I will discover later, is spilanthes/tooth ache plant. It is everything every video and book has ever said and MORE. I'm located in Western Kentucky USA and it took me a couple of failures before I learned how to get it to sprout, but it's very hardy and will reseed.

If you pack a little piece inbetween your teeth it really boosts the rate of saliva production. After some hours if there is an accumulation of acids in the mouth they get washed away. It might help with mineralisation of teeth and repair which might break away tartar. I could feel the vein pumping blood to the teeth. Think it might be really good for teeth issues. It made me burp there was so much saliva and the whole digestion is getting effected. I did it on one side and decided to take it out it was enough for the day like the gums need a rest. Maybe better not to do so long in one day. The next day that side feels definitely more alkali whilst the other side needs more attention like the whole jaw and teeth are acidified. It might even help detox the whole head. Some of the fragrances are going into the lungs aswell stimulating some mucus. Good for quit smoking.

The wide leaf one is called “bokvica” in serbian, and it helped me when I stepped on the sharp metal part of a military belt and poked/pearced my foot. It became painful and, I guess, infected. Sticking this leaf with some fat to the bottom of my foot and securing it with bandage healed my foot completely within few days. I would not believe it, if I had not experienced it.
