    Greetings my #GothMoths
This has been in my to do book for some time. As with all Nightwish masterpieces, I had no exceptions. What I found on the other side of this was amazing.
Taking my birthday off so I'll next be back at the weekend!

I work on the basis of a reaction should be just that, you don't get another crack at it! What you see from me is the real deal. I don't pre-screen anything I see or work from tight scripts. I'm completely open, emotive and sensitive with my audience.

I hope some day you're gonna react/analyze Storytime (live at Wacken 2013 of course) . Still waiting for that one. You're gonna love it!

I LOVE the way you let yourself FEEL the music and let it wash over you. Most reactors focus too much on the technical aspects of the music and neglect expressing how it makes them feel.

"Harvest" is the equivalent of "Elan" on Endlessness Forms Most Beautiful - it's a warm hug from them, in musical form.

“It’s very tribal...” TRIBAL should be the next song by NW you react to.

With the new album Tuomas uses Troy's vocals either as a lead or in three part harmonies more than any album before. I guess now Nightwish has three excellent vocalists. Just when you think they could not get any better, they do.

What I love about this song is how the music creeps up on you while you're engrossed in the vocals, gradually becoming fuller and more complex.

    Harvest is a gorgeous song.
You can hear its style being foreshadowed in earlier songs like 'Last of the Wilds' and 'My Walden'. Kind of like you can hear pre-echoes of 'Bohemian Rhapsody' in Queen's undervalued 'Queen II' album :-)
The song from Human || Nature that really gets me each time though is 'how's the heart' especially the acoustic version.

This seems to be a common reaction to this song, like my own. I wasn't completely feeling the song at first, then that amazing middle section kicked in, and it made the final chorus sound better than the first two. Then I was like "OK, I get it now".

  • @2727rogers
    @2727rogers 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

It could be said that this song in someways connects your Human side to your Nature side. After listening to this song I get the feeling to go outside and just take everything in and be at peace with the world.

The most beautiful line in the song.... The Quaternary code (the seasons BTW) gave mankind a rose so he could see the beautiful die... an astounding line... that the single purpose of a rose is so we can know that beauty is fleeting.

It's not that much of a rabbit, actually, as NW has quite a folk streak in them, from the very beginning where they incorporated Finnish folklore, shifting to Celtic later. I suspect you are really going to love "I Want My Tears Back" when you get to it. There is a version from the Wacken concert, but my favorite is from Hartwall...

Yay!!! I loved this one (and yes, I waited for you to react as I said I would!). The Celtic in me is very happy. :) I've only listened to 3 of the songs off this album, and have read a lot of comments from those who don't like it... just goes to show (once more) how subjective music is. I love it (and it moves me, too) because it's different and because it has a very pagan 'vibe' to it - (as a pagan, can't have too much of that, esp. when it's from a genius band like NW!!).

@@user-jy1bc3gw2q lol ikr?! I was about to do the whole album, after hearing Shoemaker & Tribal because I was in love with them both, then Nat did a reaction & I decided to have my first listen when he does (odd, I know, but it seemed like a fun idea/challenge at the time!)... It's been torture & I've had to increase my daily dose of NW to try to keep me from listening to anything but the ones I've already heard.

You did maybe not knowing skip a bit, at 5.47 you missed a very nice part of the song where there is some clapping...it just show don't skip a second of Nightwish songs :) but otherwise so beautiful song and Tuomas really let us hear Troy's singing. Please listen to the whole album, it is amazing.
    Happy Birthday.💐

This piece shows again how ingenious Tuomas is, as he can write so different kind of songs.
Maybe you should listen to „Tribal“ from the same album next, as it is probably the most opposite kind of song to this one.

Hi Nat, I would really like to introduce you to the queen of punk and New wave, Miss Nina Hagen herself. Would you please do me a huge favor by reacting to Nina Hagen - Naturträne (Rockpalast)?! Please pretty please? Be prepared for some giggle and awe.....

I love this whole album. It is so refreshing and different. I do love their older stuff, but there is definitely a place in my musical heart for this album.
On another note, I took a quick peek at your videos and I see you haven't reacted to any Lord of the Lost. They just released a song a few weeks back that will be on their new Swan Songs III (which is an orchestral/symphonic album). Splintered Mind is an amazing song and the lyrics are bang on. You may want to give it a go, even if you don't react to it. th-cam.com/video/hunl3mRvpdw/w-d-xo.html

I grew up in the area of the world where Celtic music is part of our heritage so I could appreciate it right away. To some people it could take a couple of listens to get use to the style of this song. This is also true of some other songs on the album. But for me the more times I listen to it the more it grew on me and now I consider it, if not the best, one of best Nigtwish productions of all time.
