So what is the proper attire for the Master of Fine Arts ( terminal degree in the Fine ARTS ) equivalent of the PHD in Fine ARTS.

For a masters degree you wear the masters regalia, regardless of whether it is currently the terminal degree or not.

I have a question. I have my juris doctorate, and wore my doctoral gown and hood for graduation. I have returned to school, and will soon be graduating with my MBA (Masters) degree. Which gown and hood do I wear? Can I wear my doctoral gown, but my masters hood? Even though I am graduating and walking for my Master's degree, should I not be allowed to show respect for my highest level of academic achievement in some way?
    What is suggested and/or proper?

Steve Karlecke Congrats on your upcoming commencement! You may want to check with your school's Provost. I can tell you per the Provost's Office here at Temple, protocol would suggest that the recipient wear the gown and hood for the degree he/she is receiving. In subsequent appearances, the gown of the highest degree earned should be worn. Best of luck~

You should not wear regalia for a Masters and a Ph.D at the same time. You only wear one hood at a time, even if you hold more than one graduate degree. If you are walking for a Masters, you wear the hood for that degree only. If you go to another occasion where regalia is worn and you are not graduating, you could wear your doctoral robes but remember, only one hood at a time and that hood has to have the appropriate gown and mortarboard that goes with it, or the right gown, hood and tam for a doctorate.

+Steve Karlecke What about wearing honor cords and stoles from your past universities for various degrees. I have honors from two master's degree and one bachelor's degree. I'm going to be attending graduation as Faculty at the university which I am employed. Is it possible to wear all your honor cords with your robe?

Steve Karlecke nope never. Its a masters gown with a brown hood not purple.
