Sad news: I showed a picture of my Girl in Red painting to my mom, and I didn't want her to find out who Girl in Red is (my mom does not support me at all) but she still found out. My mom gave me the whole "Why I don't think you're lesbian" speech. I feel like my mom is doing to make me straight which is hurting me a lot. She doesn't acknowledge the fact I like women. I was telling her I was talking to a male friend (she's actually trans but I am hella afraid of telling her anything about the community) and she asked me if "he" was cute. She always asks me "Don't you think he's cute?" or "Don't you want a boyfriend?" I don't understand why it's so hard for her to do the same but for women. This hurts me a lot... she doesn't even wanna see a rainbow at ALL. My only wish in my life is for my mom to at least accept me. Not even support. I just want her to accept me like she accepts my sister.
I understand how you feel. I don't think my parents will accept it if they ever find out that im a lesbian. And I'll probably have to move places when I get a little older because of all the homophobic laws in my country too. But its important to remind oneself that there will always eventually be people that support and love you for who you are. So don't worry much about your mum. I promise that it will all be ok! And that you're still worth all the love no matter what your mum says
