For the CEL issue; plug the valves into the harness and start the car, see if the codes pop up. Odds are it think the valves failed and due to how they tune the car, its playing it safe. Other than that, the car will have no way of telling the exhaust is different. Theres no back pressure sensors, just o2 sensors from what i can see. So if the o2 sensors are getting the proper air flow and they arent designed to be post cat, they should be fine.
The O2 sensors could be getting a higher airflow reading. These stupid new cars can't be tuned by a lot of programs! So annoying... HP Tuner for example just good for American stuff. For the valves connect them back up and cable tie them to the the hangars or something

@@Steve-Mcgarrett A wideband sensor like the ones on these cars (4 wire) cannot measure air velocity or pressure. They measure a air fuel mixture. If a wideband sensor could read velocity and pressure, no one with a car newer than 2007 would be able to add more power or flow without the car tossing up a dozen or so codes. I can almost promise you that the codes being thrown are all related to the exhaust valve. Unless, again, those sensors we are seeing are supposed to be post cat. Which, considering the cats from factory are AFTER the sensors, is not the case.
@@Alisilverado my money is on it having 3-4 codes related to the valves being unplugged, and 2-3 for not having the right cat in the car. p0420 for instance.

I’m sure there’s more to it being a much more complicated vehicle, but I was going to say the same thing as others about the exhaust valves. Even changing a cat back exhaust on a C8 z51 or Hellcat (from personal experience) they will throw codes. Aftermarket usually gives you options to reinstall the factory actuators or a delete kit which simply tricks the car into thinking your valves are installed/opened.

I missed the problem needing to be solved with this modification. I assume Ferrari carefully tuned the exhaust for optimal performance on this sophisticated car, since they utilize the technology on their race cars.
Yeah, this has really gone far enough with a customer's inability to create the car they want. While it may be a simple fix in the future, right now they put a brand new car into limp mode.
Let me explain it to you. In Ferrari’s absolutely correct opinion, when you devalue ONE of their cars, you devalue ALL of their cars. Emilia has ZERO respect for the brand and marque, which she initially displayed by destroying her absolutely perfect (before she touched it) 458. Here we go again, as true Ferrari aficionados watch in horror as another perfect car get butchered by an idiot TH-camr. The owner of that car has just lost close to $100k in market value by letting a non-factory certified technician touch the car. That’s just NOT done. She’ll never be allowed to purchase a new one with her record of disrespect for the brand. Hope it’s worth it. Probably is, she’s more in love with freakin Mustangs than Ferraris. Genius. smh

I own a MB SL550 that I'm very proud of. A friend who has a Ferrari asked me to go with to drop off his Ferrari for service. I was with him when he talked to the service rep who asked him if he'd made any modifications to the car and it was a small thing - cosmetic if I remember correctly. They refused to work on it. On the way out of the dealership, one of the sales people said "Who owns that piece of sh-- Mercedes?" So we went to my MB shop and they said they would do the work for him. True story.
What was the mod?
Back pressure gaged check stock back pressure and match or "tune" the back pressure monitor
The only thing that Ford has ever bugged me about is the 6 recalled airbags in my 2004, 2009 and 2011 Rangers. The only one left is the driver side in my parked 2009.

It's gotta be the exhaust valves which can be easily sorted. I don't know if they have an exhaust sensor or not if it does maybe it can tell It's not stock but im certainly curious as to how this turns out.
Install the valves cut them out of the old and put them back in line or just cut them off and plug them in and see if that fixes u can bypass or reinstall
Just cut the valve electronics out , plug them in and tuck them away somewhere. It just needs to see a completed circuit, it likely doesn't have any telemetry.
Car enthusiasts like modifying cars..so when a manufacturer makes its car throw error codes for that reason it is shooting itself in the foot because that segment of buyers will go elsewhere
I think going in to limp mode is a pretty normal thing with any modern car, when something important got changed. It is not a ferrari thing. Maybe i am blind but are the cats still in? Missing exhaust valves is the next thing, not to mention the change in flow.
Emelia, build the x pipe! Look up cutting 90s into an x pipe plans or even 2- 180⁰'s
Its amazing, you spend a lot of money on a car and then have to spend a lot more to tune out exhaust safeties or go with a standalone ECU...
The cel for the car is probably because of the exhaust valves not being recognised.
You should wire them back in the ecu or hanging them on a hanger , even when not used...or get an actuator delete kit , or a system telling the car that the flaps are still there..
Also see where the o2 sensors should be , pre or post cat.

Well I admire your work and courage, I have to side with Ferrari on this one. First of all the exhaust note on Ferraris is the pinnacle of what you want the car to sound like, unless you want to be like some teenage kid who wants to announce his presence to the whole neighborhood every second after the car ignition turns on. If that's the case just go buy a Mustang and put glass packs on it.
Secondly messing with their engine especially on that hybrid is totally unsmart.
And thirdly you have the computer system that will definitely mess you over for even trying.
Why screw up an excellent car?

Needs to see the exhaust valves. For sure. Dodge does the same if you don’t delete them in the tune. I’d assume on a Ferrari you won’t touch the tune.
I use to love Ferrari but I have lost respect for them because of how they treat customers. Even after dropping half a million on a car they still refuse to let the owners have free reign over it. Its supposed to be for their brand image, but now I just associate them with stuck up fake car enthusiast that have more money than skill.

they took notes from apple lol, ferarri is so petty about modifying while other companies like bmw i feel want you to upgrade your brand new car because they are limited to emissions etc.. at least thats what i think and why the last few gens all push the same hp but just get easier to tune

The O2 sensors plug before/after the cat since u unplug it the lame computer will do u like it did i'm not sure which kinda of sensor they have but u can trick it but putting a 5V or whatever the voltage us for this f-car

Why not use the appropriate resistor to simulate the load that the valves have? Turn off any codes the valves might put off

can't leave anything unplugged. you either have to cheat it or fake the right signal. a ecu flash works by giving a fake signal or a value it needs to be correct. software is software it can be cheated

Ferrari needs to let you do that. I have friends in high places. I consulted with TET if you know who that is. So they just have to. It's not the millanium falcon for crying out loud.

at the end of the day, air to fuel ratio has to comply to the computer's map table. You might have to put the old exhaust back together make a map of O2 sensor voltages per RPM setting and compare it to the new exhaust. You will find that an after market with a wider exhaust will move more air, leaning out the mixture. You will need to widen the injector pulses to deliver more gas and subsequently making the ECM happy and take you out of Limp mode.

How are you gonna get codes off a scanner ? Car is too new. No one has copied through software yet
ferrari is especially protective of their brand aesthetic, so they are especially sensitive to modifications that would affect aesthetic on new vehicles.

What happens if you just plug in those exhaust valve components and let em sit there, see if computer gets happy? (Personally I thought that OEM exhaust sounded pretty cool but I'm not one for loudness-for-its-own-sake. )
That’s what I was thinking I off-road in a 98 camry and I removed my front passenger seat and to override the airbag light I just disabled the explosive charge cylinder and plugged it back in and presto but it’s probably different on that car.
Take valves off old exhaust and leave them plugged in

You merely pay for the privilege of being able to drive our cars on the road." Even if I could afford it 20 times over I will never buy a Ferrari for the same reason I will never live in an HOA.
