If you guys don’t wanna do a full custom house just make a prebuilt building and addon to your likings. I’ve done that with my village I’m making and just add some touches here and there to make it look different from the other buildings. It makes a huge difference. Also make street signs out of the small paintings or to indicate a store or shop. Realism in a village is key so your village can upgrade and be to tier needs
I give up on the foundation every single time. The building doesn’t have to be this difficult. Even on the blueprint houses some of the pieces refuse to snap into place. I did learn some things from this video but ultimately I hope they fix the building soon
Great vid, the foundations are so frustrating, I would love a plan mode where i could place blueprint blocks and see if the build works and then once its good use materials to build it!!!
I think once you know what you're doing, it's very easy to navigate. But you're right, it does take some thinking, I guess that's why they added blueprints to the game. But it 100% needs more work and more content. Example being you should be able to "nudge" objects up and down too, so foundations stick into the ground without having to use blueprints.
I wish you could move structures and pieces once built, its such a pain to destroy to move one piece if you make a mistake and then accidentally destroy something else… building with legos isnt supposed to be that stressful!
10:45 For the roof gables you are supposed to put them aligned to the walls not "overhanging" in that way u put those snapping into the big normal roof pieces, that is why we have different sizes of normal roof pieces like pleasant roof 01, 02, 03 and 04
I really struggle with making a second floor, I manage by putting down a crazy amount of poles then taking them down after I have placed all the floors
You can snap the stairs to the foundation, allowing the use of the actual stairs. Then if you stand at the top of the stairs and look down where the bottom of the staircase is (underground), you can add railing as well. Although it can look weird sometimes, sticking through the ground
really loved it i was having a hard time figuring out how to use the stuff to make buildings that aren't from the blue prints ty so much for the tutorial and tips!
This video was very helpful as I'm trying to build a "Warehouse" for all my storage and crafting things. If that goes well I may build a "garage" and build all 3 vehicles. My problem is I can't find level ground say for the garage so the cars can just drive in. Got any suggestions? Any help would be appreciated. Would love to see more "How To" video's as I'm trying to learn on the fly.
I don't understand the first tip. Where do you find the tall foundations that you attach to the blueprint foundations? All I have are 2 high foundations.
Just to comment on the foundation stuff... At least for PC. If you click into build and then go to abandon - It will drop the plans and leave you with the foundation to do with as you please without having to damage any of it.
First off, nice house. I never tried in Sandbox but it would be almost impossible to build in survival unless you waste a ton of resources to go around (like you did to build the walls on the first floor). The overall of the game is quite fun but building compared to any other survival game is just horrible.
Nice tips. I was hoping to find out why I seem to have trouble snapping the starter roof pieces and I'm just going to give up an assume they're not supposed to be extended more than once. huge pain in the ass, so basically don't start trying to build anything until you get the next roofs opened up, Rustic Roofs I think
The small notches on top of some walls are so annoying... They don't even have a purpose, because it's perfectly fine to lay floors on top of them anyway. Not only do they prevent inner walls from snapping into place, but also stairs. I literally can't have a staircase right next to a log window unless I nudge the problematic walls slightly outwards, thus creating a gap on the upper floor... Gotta figure it out somehow, but the tip with doing the interior first is already helping a lot!

There's a way to use them in survival too, do the same as him at 0:22 then just destroy 3 to 4 foundations, the ones you would like to use! Place them back again on to the blueprint, by placecing them back again the foundations will show up in the STAR MENU, at the end of the building menu you'll see a star, thats for items you had used, and just pick them from there, then go ahead and destroy the blueprint, this also a great way to use pieces you haven't unlock yet, cause some of those bluprints already have those pieces in them.💪

You can build foundations and floors and everything into the ground actually, if you have an incline. so if there is a slope and youre trying to build into/under the ground or just lower and closer to the ground if you aim the pieve you are trying to build on the lower end of the slope and then use the nudge buttons to nudge the object towards the upper end of the slope it will go in that direction without raising up the slop, it will go right into the slop/hill. I use this all the time. Sometimes you can also just go down the hill/slope to the height you want the brick to be and place it there then just snap more of the bricks in the direction you need until it is in the place you need it. Then just destroy the excess you started with
