Great idea! Unfortunately the installers shared we don’t have enough space to achieve the desired outcome. In the future I’ll opt for a glass panel door

A crisp white or cream fireplace would look so much better against that black wall. The blk on blk fireplace and wall looks dead
The wall itself isn't black; only the bump out, which is part of the fireplace design, is black. To achieve the look you're referring to, the surrounding wall would need to be darker. While that's definitely doable, my living space is quite small, so I opted for a better alternative.
By using the fireplace as an accent statement, it stands out beautifully against the neutral tones of the rest of the home. This was the best option for me but I hope you get the chance to create your desired look in your home one day! Have a great day!
You took the door off the laundry room, are you not concerned about the noise, while doing laundry?
The laundry is upstairs and if/when a washer goes in I can add a nicer door. Yes I removed the door but the opening is still to code for a door to be installed
