  • In this video we look at section 2.96v.1 from Meyer's 1570 text, which discusses the use of a sequence of three thrusts, one after another.
This is an interesting sequence which teaches some great lessons in winding and hanging, as well having elements which are really effective for day-to-day fencing.

As a dedicated Meyer practitioner I must say this video not only is well put together but the content is great! Very well layed out!

      Thanks :-)
Given the time I'd love to do this for most of Meyer's techniques - I learn a lot about my own assumptions and flaws while I'm making them, which is really useful.

Do you plan on making more videos on sidesword? TH-cam is really lacking a beginner friendly course!

I hadn't planned a full course, but there are a few videos in the works - maybe I'll add some more introductory content to the To-Do list :)

@@DanielPopeScholarVictoria i mean, it's very similar to what you've shown here, which actually shocked me. i really like the format of your video, i actually used this video to show my colleagues some similar concepts in bolognese :D

Very much like Marozzo and also Viggiani. I think it’s safe to say that Meyer was heavily influenced by styles like those. 🙂

Use a real partner to show techniques, is better than a drawing.

I started making these in lockdown where were weren’t allowed to have contact with other people, so want to keep the look consistent with those :)
