Anybody else wishing race TV was like this these days or is it just me? You have to love how the ESPN guys totally didn't take themselves seriously. Just so much nicer to watch than today. And you still get just as much out of it.
ck7813 Another thing that we will never see again happened at North Wilkesboro in 1994. Geoff Bodine lapped the field at North Wilkesboro’s fall race in 1994. With the phantom cautions and the Lucky Dog rule, it will be practically impossible for a driver to lap the field.
I went to North Wilkesboro a few times. Damn shame what happened to it. Should still be on the calendar along with Rockingham. NASCAR's greed and the morons in charge have ruined a great sport.
Geoff Bodine's win in this race clinched the manufacturer's championship for Ford. It's their 1st since 1969 & the 1st time a GM product didn't win since Dodge won in 1975
Bickle passed some of NASCAR's best early in the race to momentarily stay on the lead lap. He would have won a race or two in decent equipment if he had ever gotten it.
I think it that time because just wanted to be involved in NASCAR Winston Cup racing more than short track racing because he sure can my home town of Pensacola mania weekend and blistered their ass
Yet another track that NASCAR abandoned like idiots..Dumped the fans that made the sport what it is...Welllll guess what? It's just a matter of time now..R.I.P.
# Guiltless nascar didn’t abandoned It sir. Two track owner bought one track to get its two dates for one of there tracks. NASCAR has nothing to do with NW shutting down.
Its not all nascars fault. Gas prices these days have contributed alot in people not being able to take road trips as easily these day and in general younger people have zero interest in cars or racing in general. People can blame nascar all they want but its out of their control.
Miss these days. Stopped watching Cup racing in ‘01 with the new tv deals. All the racing event changes turned me right off. And now it is 6-7 minutes racing and then 4-5 minutes commercials. And the announcers were top notch and knew their racing very well. No wonder the viewer numbers are so low, just crap series now. Why did they change something that got them popular and wasn’t broke?
A caution free race at a short track. Also one of the bad finishes of the year that cost Bill Elliott the championship, a 26th. Only 32 cars started the event and that's a good number for a short track. 42 is about 10 cars too many at these tracks, Bristol probablu has the most problems with 43 cars.
Love him or hate him... Geoffrey Bodine could drive... This race driven by Geoffrey Bodine is a clinic on how to drive and dominate a race... Being patient and yet being very fast especially on old hot tires.. Similar to Kyle Petty's dominant win at Rockingham later this same season...
You’re right brother they’ve learned Carly really bad scars not mean to be a smart Alec he just got a lot wiser I didn’t even make them wear a full face helmet back then
John Anderson That race was shown on tape delay, because of NFL Draft commitments by ESPN, it was shown on another day. So I don't know if anyone has it...
When racing was racing...this shit today is a 500 lap demolition derby with a bunch of crybabies in a car they think they're still running go carts....Nascar...what a fucking joke
"You're about to see something you'll never see again in NASCAR racing" Is it Darrell Waltrip making an ass of himself before the race has even started? Oh wait, that happens every weekend now.

Best of92
You will NEVER see a caution free Na$car race again. They would throw a "debris" caution for a dead gnat in turn 1...
There has been caution free races since this.

wow fast forward to now and you are def right. At least 2 yellows built into each race now with stage racing. So stupid lol
And just think, a year and a half prior at the '91 First Union 400, they had 17 cautions.
I just watched the race from 1992 at North Wilkesboro that was made up on a Monday because of a rainout in the grandstands were packed
People mistakenly think NWS closed because attendance or size. But it was because Bruton Smith is a greedy bastard.
I went to North Wilkesboro a few times. Damn shame what happened to it. Should still be on the calendar along with Rockingham. NASCAR's greed and the morons in charge have ruined a great sport.
20 seconds was a good pit stop in 1992

Well buick won in '81 And '82

Race 35 of Richard Petty’s fall North Wilkesboro event
Likely a race speed record that will stand for eternity

Not their fault - Blame the scum owners who bought it
One more thing, there is a better crowd there on a Monday in 1992 than most races have on a Sunday in 2013. My how na$car has fallen.
Only two cars on lead lap this race

And to make matters worse, Elliott's poor finish was on team owner Junior Johnson's home track.
7:27 race start
2:03:00 end of the race
I saw Geoff Bodine win 56 modified races in the northeast in one season.🏁🏁
Love him or hate him... Geoffrey Bodine could drive...

Its funny that the guys arent even wearing racing gloves. Man times sure have changed
You’re right brother they’ve learned Carly really bad scars not mean to be a smart Alec he just got a lot wiser I didn’t even make them wear a full face helmet back then
32:29 Rucky Richmond
Earnhardt 4 laps down wtf
Could you upload the '91 First Union 400 next?? Thanks!
Anyone have the 1992 Goodys race? second race at Martinsville in 92?
John Anderson That race was shown on tape delay, because of NFL Draft commitments by ESPN, it was shown on another day. So I don't know if anyone has it...
Pull it up on TH-cam...you can watch any race you want
When racing was racing...this shit today is a 500 lap demolition derby with a bunch of crybabies in a car they think they're still running go carts....Nascar...what a fucking joke
y u mad boi?
"You're about to see something you'll never see again in NASCAR racing"
Is it Darrell Waltrip making an ass of himself before the race has even started? Oh wait, that happens every weekend now.
How does he make an ass out of himself? he knows more about racing racing than most people on the planet
