This is one of my most loved songs ever. Ive heard it thousand times and it still feel so good. Sometimes it makes me cry, becouse it wakes up so many emotions that I cant even describe.. Love, happinness, saddness, awe, nostalgia and so many more feelings just come rushing through my veins straight to my heart. Ive shown Jungle to everyone I know, its just such.. heavenly music. And I know there is a lot of superlatives, but thats how I feel. I have only love and admiration for this band and I cannot wait to finally see them live someday. House in LA is music of my heart.

Idk, maybe i'm weird like that, but i always felt this underlying sadness in Jungle's music, especially here. like a deep emptiness, the choice of instruments and synths, the reversed passages, the lyrics. sounds like that feeling of chasing success and loosing focus of what's important, and then realizing it and hiding the pain of it under that success, telling yourself it's "ok now", i have made it, i have the success, i have a house in LA, i am happy. there is always this dissonance between the lyrics and the music. and there are a lot of contradictions in the lyrics themselves. it creates this overall melancholic, more bitter than sweet feel for me. just a thought tho.
I agree with you, I feel some deep dark sadness without any way out here in this track. But "I feel alive" gives a little hope.
Depends on how you interpret that emptiness. But I agree, it‘s definitely in their songs!
It's not sadness. It is the feeling of finally realizing everything is temporary and should not be taken too seriously.
