The last time I mentioned cows, beauty shops, and my wife in the same sentence it did not turn out so well. Great videos.
Thanks 👍
My wife says all the time that I love the cows more then her. She's right. The cows do not talk back or bark orders to me! LOL. Love you Sarah!!! 🤣
Another project in the books. Have a great Sunday
Same to you
Another awesome video. Cole, you crawling on your knees on concrete makes my old bones hurt. God Bless
Merry Christ's Birthday, Sonne family.
Had our first Sonne Farms ground beef for supper last night. Better than store bought.
That is awesome!
Do it yourself kinda guys ! Love it !
How nice of Brian to get you a new concrete pad for Christmas
So admire you and your dad’s energetic drive for continuous improvements, increased capacities, and efficiencies.
All with some good natured humor.
Kudos!
Last nite sdsu football today sonne farms great weekend
Very nice
Being a native South Dakota growing up near Long Lake, which is in between Leola and Eureka; I watch your episodes all the time. I’m now living in Texas, have been down here since 1971: what is the career oil field person. Having been retired, I found a volunteer job which turned into a paying job at a ranch for special needs children. We use on the ranch, Dewalt impact drill and T25 star bit deck screws for all of our fencing so far they were great especially if you have to back them out down the road. keep your good episodes coming.
Those bunker walls came from up in your old neck of the woods, kinda. Tolstoy.
Cole do you know when you get done next spring calfing you need to clean the new bunk up and paint it you and your wife and dad have a good holiday
No screws? Plan B. Nails
Get er done, move on...😂❤😂
I am a FIRM BELIEVER of Torx headed screws. I had a farmer joke the other day that because of my usage of these screws that I should have some etched into my headstone 🤣😂
The concrete pour looks sweet
Calving is just round the corner...
Those calf huts will make for cozy evenings with their friends.
Tommy Boy - well done, Brian. Bravo!
More improvements done to the Sonne farm. The two of you are always making to make your lives easier.
And ultimately better for the animals as well.
Well we know what'll make Cole happy if he gets it for Christmas, a few torque bits and some screws to go with it.
The simple things in life are the best.
Awesome video Cole. 🚜🚜🚜
:)
You guys come up with some very Creative Ideals and have a Super Nice Operation that helps makes things Easier. Good Job (Bon Shons)
Thanks for another great video Cole. It was interesting.
Busy day for you and dad. Got the cattle worked you just got. They all looked good. Like your setup for treating the cattle. Makes the process work good and fast. Nice.
Your concrete pour turned out good. Looks real nice and will be a great addition to your cattle feeding process. Like that roller they had to spread out the concrete. Good idea to cover with straw for the night.
The project went good and looks great.
Like the calf shelter you got after using one last winter. Good piece of equipment to have.
The steel bunk feeder you got is a great addition also. Will make feeding the cows in the barn a lot easier. Nice piece of equipment also. Good items you purchased.
Busy busy couple of days you and dad had. Nice additions to your cattle setup.
Thanks for the song of the day Brian. Good song and music.
Thanks for everything Sonne’s. You both take care and be safe.
The Iowa farm boy. Steve.
Cole I felt your frustration on that Philip/flat head screw rant😂.
I like this time of year on Sonne Farms, we get to see all kinds of different jobs/projects that you guys do
You sure have gotten your money's worth from that hand concrete mixer.
Nice work on your projects with your dad.
"Not here or here. But here." Love the TB reference! 🙌
Cole you need to switch to the Canadian screw. Get a Robertson and set them screws in one shot. Phillips are made to torq out! Slot screws are widow makers. Good video and tell Brain that I know most of the songs he talks about personally. You have a good Christmas!
Those new calves Brian bought are feisty little rascals!
👍 Thanks and GOD BLESS 😀
Your care for the livestock shines through in unexpected places ... filling holes that are right up near the feedbunk, just in case a cow might step in it and get her foot twisted or injured. Kudos.
God bless ya'll this Christmas season, from east-central Indiana to SD. 👍🙏
My great nefew Tommy Gustafson drives a cement pump truck, he's 22 years old and loves his job 🇺🇸❤
big piece of machinery!
@sonnefarms A lot better then John Deer equipment... 😜
Nice new concrete pad and the other upgrades for the critters 👍
A dap of dish soap helps those long screws go in the first time. Spit works in a pinch.
Thanks for sharing, Cole and Brian. -EZ
Never seen that type of concrete smoother before - levels and roughs it at the same time - nice.
It's called a power screed. Instead of a board for you to move back and forth, it goes round and round.
Lots of jobs taken care of Thanks
Brian always on top of things a very smart businessman with the best product/Black Angus and corn and beans always look great so I’d say Brian is one of the best out there 💯
New claves are feisty! Great job on the cement pour.
Nice new concrete pad and fancy new feed bunk Christmas came early
I don’t have time to do this twice….love it
Never tire of seeing you two make improvements & I’m sure it makes your lives easier. Pretty sure your cattle are “moooved” by your hard work-I know this is so “corny”-that’s no bull…..
I've thought that for a long time. There are two kinds of work they do. The first is the "chores" type of work that just keeps the place from falling apart. The other is the infrastructure for the future. There's so often when they could be in a warm living room with a beer and a football game on the TV but instead, they are out in the snow building for the future. Amazing guys.
Lots of improvements to use in 2024. Not sure comparing Tiffany going to the salon and you and your dad working cattle through the squeeze gate is a good long term idea Cole?!
Square bits are also pretty good. But I agree, Torx is where it's at.
square is very good too
Cole, your dad sure loves to feed cattle!
Thanks COLE ! Love the improvements men.
I am here from Italy only for "the song of the day" 😂😂😂
heck of a good idea blowing straw on yer concrete for insulation, man you got a nice purchase with those pre-casts, i'm on the look out for some for a silage bunker
yes it was a rare occasion that the stands came with them.
GREAT VLOG Brian & Cole... Concrete looks fantastic ❤👍😁🙏❤️💙💖💙🐕...💙🤗✝️🎄🏡
Great video, I always like seeing the improvements to the farm and you taking us along for the journey. I had to laugh at Cole, even after Brian told him about the snot on his skull cap, he still continued to wear it like a badge of honor, I am sure Tiffany was impressed! LOL
This winter has allowed many construction projects to proceed that would normally be held to next spring due to weather. Nice to see professionals at work they always make things look so easy and having all the right tools helps as well.
Thanks for the video.
You guys are sure fixin up your place. Looks good
Great improvements guy's.
The Farm is in wonderful shape.
God Bless and Merry Christmas to all the Sonne Farms and Families.
Mighty fine job Cole nice concrete work❤❤❤❤
Merry Christmas to you and family Cole 😊
You have an awesome channel. Enjoy your content. Those cows of yours are treated like princesses! Merry Christmas!
We try to give them a good life!
Thank you so much!
Glad to see the concrete pour, the project's turned out real nice :) And thanks for a rant I can identify with! Great video, made my day :)
They shouldn't even make flat or Phillips head screws anymore! Can't wait to see the new bunk in action.
Always improving never standing still.
Happy to see your project came about, nice job!! Cole, you're just inflaming the passion of listeners ( witty, humerous and intertaining) with the Phillip screws, LOL. Thank you for sharing
Great improvements around the farm!
Enjoyed.
Yep! a nail never fail! and it rimes!
Thank you for sharing.🐂
Of the thousands of yards of concrete I helped pour for my family Construction Company . Pouring flat work and walls for box culverts since about 1978 I have only been able to use a Concrete Pump Truck 1 time pouring a wall at a rock quarry as a backstop for a new Crusher . The wall was 18” thick 26 ‘tall and 75’ long. I would have loved to have a rolling screed like they had. All I ever got to use to screed was a 2”x4”.
I do a lot of wood working and am converting to torx screws and bits. When you were cutting that fence, I thought to myself that your blade was just a little bit dulllllllllllllllllllllll.!!!!!!!!!Yep, you got to match the bit with the head of the screw.I like your concrete mixer. My son Scott uses one for his very small pores.
I TOTALLY ENJOYED WATCHING THE VIDEO COLE AND BRIAN 😊
All kinds of things to make work more enjoyable looking good.
I agree, no Philips. Torx screws are the only way to go.
My Dad bought a pump truck. Those things are high maintenance but when you need one you need one.
I bet that was expensive!
Some good improvements for the farm seems to always be something to need but in long run it will last a long time .
Awesome video Cole and Brian..Put some oil or WD40 on the screws before you use them and they will go in so much easier..Hope the Sonnes have a Great Christmas. Thank you guys
We got our box of hamburger from Farm Fresh yesterday. We're in NE F. The dry ice was gone, but the meat was still frozen, so there were no issues there. Burgers tonight!
thats a relief!
Great!
Hammer those Phillips head screws in!😮❤
It’s starting to get cold. Take an extra second to be careful and safe.
Money is rolling down there, improvement is the way to go ,keep up the good work, thanks and greetings from a Dutch dairyfarmer
Cole, always pre drill hardwood timber, makes life much easier :D
Well done on improving. Great idea on feed bunk. It will be so much better. Merry christmas Sonne Family. ❤
Next time you're up by the border with Canada you purchases some Robertson screws, Three different sizes to the square drive. No 1 No 2 [most common] and No.3. They never slip..
Oh my. Did that bring back memories for me. Concrete pumping. Great job on the project. Merry Christmas to the families.
Great video Cole and Brian!!!
Nice improvements made to your farm
Merry Christmas 🎄
Christmas came early for y'all...great video
Great video! It is amazing what you two can do in a day. Oh how I hate the Phillips bits and dry wall screws. I wept and laughed and almost cursed with you. Projects look great. You sure do care about those black snot machines. Love it!
Like the concrete work. That bunk will work good when you get it in place. Thanks for the video Take Care and Be safe on the farm. Out
Good honest work today. Great video Sonne boys. The tiny pony was cute, who's is it?
our neighbor to the south
Waiting to see how your deer season went😊
Cole, check out HeadLoK fasteners. Two different heads. One is 10 point the other is 5/16s. Steel. Tougher than lag bolts. Guaranty you won’t cuss them.
Loving all the upgrades some simple some not but everything with a purpose. Just a little surprised that you didn't remove more of the trees by the shed/pad before putting in the concrete trees look like they are ready to fall over pump trucks are awesome
We use iron ranch calf shelters, they have clear plastic on the top to kill bacteria and they are tall enough to stand in and they survived the derecho after rolling several times and we know it did because there was sod in the top piping
My grandpa was in concrete construction, he was a big part in the highways around Washington State. I never get bored of watching a nice big slab being poured and smoothed out. I like all the ranch/farm improvements, every little thing matters.
Wow. How thick is that slab! Can you do an above drone image video showing where the hay is kept compared to where the cows are fed. Great job!
Cole, please wash the windshield. Many would appreciate you taking the time to do so. Thank you.
I enjoy learning from your videos.
Noted, thanks
good job!
Good job guys
Hello Brian Cole. Enjoyed your video. Best head for screw is a Robertson. I dont know if you can get but there best. Have a great day.
I don't know much, but I know this; when I did concrete 20 years ago, we didn't have all the fancy doodads, to make things this easy. Pumps and auto screeters thingys........nice.
Merry Christmas to you and all your family 😊
thank you
You're welcome
For any screws into wood without a pilot hole put some soap on the threads. Bar soap works fine that I have used.
If screwing into hard wood, the best lube for screws is the wax in a toilet bowl seal, works wonders and is convenient to put a chunk in a jar and throw it into the tool kit to be handy when you need it. Ciao
A Canadian invented a square hole screw called a Robertson, they work really nice but Americans seem to refuse using them since they didn't invent them.
Howdy Brian, Cole, I hope ya'll are having a Fantastic day,
I gotta say, I like this being a member, getting to watch your latest videos as soon as they're available, before anyone else, this is the second video in a row, only minutes apart, I wasn't expecting that 👍 very Cool, Stay safe, God Bless and Merry Christmas
All good!
Another great video Cole.
Torx heads are great but i am partial to Timberlok hex head fasteners. They are not cheap but they are a superior fastener. There are plenty of other brands as well they are usually just called timber screws and/or tie (for search purposes).
A trick for the Phillips screws is you can use a square bit on some of them it won't slip as easily
Try coating any screw with candle wax before you begin your operation. Works every time. Hope this works for you. Merry Christmas for Charlotte NC
Robertson screws are great. Torq screws are good but more expensive. Robertson is a Cdn screw and are used everywhere. 🇨🇦
