in a way i dread my wedding for the exact reason! i’m actually a waitress at a function centre where we cater for mostly weddings and almost every wedding i watch the father daughter dance and think about how lucky they are for their dads to be at their wedding. it hurts but i hope that by my wedding i will be able to accept that. much love rach 💗

I also lost my dad a few years ago and the realisation that he will miss out on so many milestones in mine and my brother's lives hurts everyday. Nothing can make up for it. This really hit home for me xx. You have a such beautiful and supportive family and friend group and your wedding. Your dad was with you in spirit, no doubt xx
I know this video is 2 years old. But watching you be vulnerable about your dad was just truly what I needed to hear as I’m a week out from my wedding. I lost my mom and dad during the pandemic and I completely understand how you feel and it’s comforting to see that others understand the pain too ❤️

Thank you for that clip of you pouring out your emotions. I lost my dad last year and because were in a different country we couldn't attend the funeral or the memorial due to lockdown restrictions and that made it way more painful. When we finally got to travel and see the grave, reality hit and I couldn't control myself. It's hard cause there are things I want to share with him, about my career, academics and all those fun details about life. I'm 21 and probably getting married in a few years, and knowing that he wont be there for it, is what hurts the most. I wont have my father to give me away, or to even see my husband. So yeah, I totally felt that...😔
When you were talking about your dad I’ve never felt that way but I’m sorry 😢 I’m possibly going to cry myself to sleep and I’m crying right now but your dad is still there with you , but he is still looking over you and still walking you down the aisle but in a way he isn’t and doing the daddy daughter dance

I really appreciate you showing your feelings, I’m so scared if I get married for those reasons. My dad passed away 2 months ago I also feel heart broken. A wedding won’t feel the same. But we are all together and have to remember he would love it and think you are the most beautiful daughter ever x

Also on a completely separate note: When you realized all these smaller things you needed to do for ur wedding. Can you make a video giving like a 'wedding 101' kind of thing. Explaining the whole process you went through to organise ur wedding. Eg Bookings, costs etc?

This is literally my favourite wedding series I've ever watched on youtube! Over the last 6 months I have been watching a few channels, but yours is BY FAR the most practical, relatable and in all honesty, stunning! I love how much of this you did yourself and I hope you milk as much content as you can out of it!! On top of that, you have appeared to stay so positive considering the circumstances you've been faced with! Such an inspiration!

I have no idea what to say or how to show comfort for what you're feeling. And I am so sorry for the emotions you have to process right now. I know the feeling. I’m getting married in June. My father passed due to Covid last February two weeks after I gave birth to my first child. I know the feeling. I have my moments but, getting married and feeling happy keeps me motivated because, I know he would’ve wanted this and I know he’s smiling and elated! Blessings to you!

I have the same experience. My dad died when I was 12 from cancer and we weren't even close. He always came around for my birthday and Christmas but I would shut him out because I was angry with him and same as my mum. It only now hits me as an adult that I'll never have that experience when I get married. I feel you, you're not alone and we have God. ❤️
Your dad was definitely there in spirit and he is so proud of you and the life you have created for yourself. I know it may seem like he didn’t get to see all the stuff you have done but he is is so content with how your life has gone. It is not easy to grow up without a father, and that is such a raw moment that your shared. I am forever grateful to have an amazing stepdad ❤️

Grief isn’t linear, there are always good days and bad days and it’s 100% okay to feel sad and mourn a loved one. Going through milestones and important dates (Father’s Day Eg) just really suck without them there. My dad unfortunately isn’t a part of my life and hasn’t been since I was 8 and just this past Father’s Day I broke down completely, I saw all of these amazing dads and I felt so angry and upset that I didn’t get to have that. You’re not alone and you have every right to feel upset💖💖
hey lovely, whenever I’ve been upset about someone I’ve lost I tell myself over and over: how lucky you are to have something that made losing it so hard, and remind myself how lucky I am to have experienced such love - because the pain you feel from the loss is how you know it was real 💓
I'm feeling you on your Dad. Much love. Your feelings are valid. Mourning is a cyclical process - it's happy and sad and sometimes it smacks you in the face. You're very strong for sharing that.
Your dad would have been there and watching every moment! My dad left my life when i was very young and he just because he didn’t pass away i still mourn the loss of him and knowing i won’t be able to experience things my friends do with their dads is hard. thankyou for sharing this

This video broke me. I am planning my wedding and it’s coming up so soon and I am avoiding thinking about my father because it hurts so deeply. My brothers are stepping in on his behalf, but it’s not the same. As the day gets closer my heart breaks more and more. What is supposed to be the happiest day of my life is the most vulnerable I will be.

My dad died when I was 11 and I’m getting married in September. I keep getting asked who’s giving me away and it hurts every time I’m asked but it’s super important to me to walk down alone and break that stereo type that you must be ‘given away’. Life is tough but so are we xx

I'm so sorry for your loss. My Dad too passed away 23 years ago so I walked myself down the aisle. My husband-to-be met me half way down the aisle and we walked the rest of the way together. I wouldn't have it any other way. Our Dads are there every step of the way. My dad is forever in my heart each and every day ❤ May God rest all our loved ones souls 🙏❤🌻

Aww, Rachel, I lost my dad at 14 and knowing that he'll never walk me down the aisle, meet my partner or meet my brother's or my kids. The emotional side of that weighs on me so much.

for the tealight holders, a cool idea could be to put sand or mini crystals at the bottom so the tealight candles can be balanced and it also looks a bit more complete
