I haven't listened to Nevermind in at least 20 years, mainly because the local radio stations play the "hits" from Nevermind ad nauseam. I've had Breed in my head for a couple of weeks, finally had some time to sit down and blast it. I don't care I don't care I don't care and I don't mind I don't mind I don't mind.
This song feels like being young and having your first crush and being filled with nervous energy and excitement. Not caring about anything as long as you get to be with that person ("I don't mind, don't have a mind) mixing up your words ("we can plant a house, we can build a tree"), being afraid but excited at the same time. Reminds me of when I was fifteen and had my first crush. Before I knew what heartbreak felt like 🙃
Everybody adores SLTS but the whole Nevermind is actually a banger. Gotta love the heavy sounds of Breed and calming sounds of Something In the Way and Polly
I still remember when I bought Nevermind as soon as it came out and this song came after Smells Like Teen Spirit, In Bloom, Come as You Are, it was love at first listen, tight, heavy, aggressive, it became one of my absolute favourites, and of course it still is today 🤘
It was a great album all round and that’s rare in any genre. I was lucky enough to see nirvana live in 1992 at the hordern pavilion in sydney, lost my friends within seconds of them starting, drenched in sweat by the end of their set.

The purest, most concentrated essence of rock and roll ever written. From the moment that blistering riff starts, it never lets up. Cobain was just something else entirely in the songwriting ecosphere of his time.
When you listen to it with headphones it is magical...the sound goes from one headphone to the other, it is magnificent to feel the vibes of being at his recital...
