Went to King University in Bristol for all 4 years of undergrad and fell in love with the city. Always look forward to returning to tri-cities, what I consider home.
You always hear about Nashville when people talk about country music. I don't remember hearing about Bristol as the birthplace of country music. It's such a unique and nice place. Great visit. Thank you.
You should read up on Ralph Peer’s recording sessions in Bristol. Jimmie Rogers, The Carter Family, Pop Stoneman, and others were recorded in a hotel room there in Bristol. It’s a great story.
My grandmother grew up in Bristol TN and I’ve got to spend some summers there and it’s probably one of the most beautiful places in America and I from Arizona.
Really encapsulated the essence of Bristol in this short highlights of the community. Surprised you didn’t show the Stone Castle that encompasses Tennessee High football stadium! They were mythical AAA National champions in the early 70’s.
The birthplace of country music and a NASCAR motor speedway.... those are some hefty claims to fame for the twin cities of Bristol! I appreciate the regular "reminders" in your videos that American life isn't confined to major metropolitan areas. As always, I appreciate the historical background and how it connects to the present!
I'm from Auckland, New Zealand. I'm maori and have spent alot of my life in the far north of NZ. West Virginia has similar scenery. Especially around a place named Mangamuka. I've always wanted to visit West Virginia, beautiful place! Thanks for the videos bro
When I lived in East Tennessee, in the Smokies, for a while it always reminded me a lot of Northland - where I'm from. Squirrels aside, walking around in some of those hollers you could swear you were home.
Great episode Josh!! You really showcased the area. I has aware of Bristol but had no idea of it's history. Definitely looks like a great place to visit. As I watched I couldn't help but smile and reflect on how much you've grown in such a relatively short time as a film maker. It seems like only yesterday you were just starting out. Your heart and desire to succeed and do well in this endeavor were so evident, and you truly have succeeded. I'm really proud of you and so happy to have been along for the ride. Watching this I also had such a sense of all the possibilties in store as you continue on. I wish you the very, very best and thank you for sharing this wonderful experience. A most blessed Christmas season to you and your family. ☃️🌲♥️🌲☃️
This is such an incredibly kind and encouraging comment, thank you! I very much appreciate your thoughtfulness and taking the time to share this with me 😊
This is a great town to visit. It is great to see a town that has not become abandoned. It is great to see how they are diversified and have brought their past into today and are thriving and moving forward. This area does have alot of hidden gems and rich history. You really did a great job on this video. Keep them coming!
Thank you very much for sharing this videos of a beautiful place’s that we hardly ever get to see, visit or hear about! W.V. Seems like a very interesting peaceful place to Live!
Love hearing from y'all in the comments!

You're welcome! This one is specifically on the Tennessee Virginia border 👍
I born in Barbados, but I grew up in Brooklyn, New York and, I seems like such a peaceful place to have lived to live like peace on Earth!
Great Episode as always Josh! Keep up the good work!
Down the road here watching. ✝️🇺🇸
I live fifteen minutes from where you're filming. I'm originally from Bluff City and have lived in this region for the past sixteen years.
My hometown. Haven’t lived there in 15 years though.
Great video Josh. I’ve been to Bristol and didn’t see half the things you mentioned. I’m going back and see the rest for myself. 👍.
Yes, check it out! Lots of interesting places to see!!
One scene, maybe others, are backward on State Street. But that’s ok, it’s a great video. Thank you for showing both high schools!
Where can I find the full videos
I retired from BVPD in 2021
