Dude, you are the reason for why I am sitting now. With the ones like you , we will never get ahead and we will always be treated like morons by the brokers .
Dude we have so much in common its crazy. Im also from PNW residing in Las Vegas for 3 years now. Started at a mega for experience and fairly new O/O who ALMOST started at Landstar. Through tons of research I found a carrier in Illinois with a better deal than Landstar and Im also running all over the country
Hey, you can try to stay in Midwest doing short loads until Thursday/Friday then take something back west, that’s what my company do to keep me with 3000+ miles per week 🤷♂️
I am a lease OP with Prime, and luckily, i paid off my truck early this year and my avergae net is 2700 and can use this truck wih prime for another 2 more years..after that i may sell it or go to another company with this truck
Super detailed loved the video and the detailed breakdown of +/- and the links to spreadsheets. As I'm spinning up my business this is tremendous help as I was scouring the internet trying to pull everything from everywhere to see what expenses are possible. I appreciate you. Also, I was wondering what is the benefit of going with Landstar, when I see 35% rates it blows my mind. What exactly is included in that fee?
I like the "unnecessary" comment lol. Taking a crap rate happens. I know for a fact o/o in southeast have done the same thing. If it gets you to a better area then so be it.
I understand here and there you may have to take a bad paying rate but cmon man his whole video showed nothing but a damn disaster he took bad loads back to back and never got nothing good .
The "don't haul cheap freight" crowd doesn't know what they're talking about. Let them sit at the truck stop for 3 days. You take what you can get and move to a better market. They're almost as clueless as the people who think the freight market has anything to do with who the president is. They're usually the same fools.
Maybe it’s time to look at another opportunity to find or become your own broker and get away from Landstar. You mite check the shippers and start building a data bank of customers 😊 broker loads years ago use to be 80/20.
Hate to see you accept cheap loads. But what I see in your thinking is that you are realizing which are the good loads and the ones you should leave on the table.😊
I can say that you need to go back to the drawing board on your business plan. The rates you’re taking is only contributing to the cheap freight issue.
Man I’m not trying to be rude, but guys like you coming into Landstar from companies like Knight is the reason our rates have plummeted….. now I know how’s taking this crap that’s being placed on our board….. Stop It…. $4700 to Wa…. 5200 to NJ from LA ….. WTF is wrong with you….,😂
Trucking is saturated with cheap labor and migrant workers currently. If truck is paid, go park it and let the bums beat their equipment up for free or less. You can bring home $1000-1200 mowing lawns at this time, $800 per week is McDonalds money...
Too many people doing dryvan stop blaming all yo problems on a damn election and adapt and fix the problem maybe try flatbed rgn car haul a lot of money out there lazy truckers don’t want to touch freight
I feel your weekly revenue is extremely low. I know a few guys who on average are making 7500 gross a week and about half net. I think it’s because you’re taking these long loads instead of making sure you make a x amount everyday. Just my opinion of course
@@nattydreadlocks1973 that only last so long when you own a business. Lol when you own a business it is about the money coming in. His saving grace is the paid off truck.
I hear these stories about guys netting X and taking home Y but I do not believe it. 7500x52 weeks is 390k. So he's grossing almost 400k? And netting 180k? As a dry van? ... No. Truckers have a huge tendency to exaggerate or look at their numbers with rose colored glasses. I believe some weeks grossing 7500 and netting 3500 is possible... But over the course of an entire year? Nope.
@@truckingthesevenseas You make a valid point. Although, I do believe that your numbers are a little flat. Much of that has to do with you operating in the Pacific North West and dead zones such as Denver and Salt Lake City.
Thank you for your videos, help me to take a better look, what be the next step. Good luck and be safety out there. 👍

I always enjoy your videos. Very in depth and eye opening how the trucking market is still down, but then again this is orchestrated my brother.
You're the truth WB! Keep making videos brother. I watch these on my 10 hour! Stay dangerous! ⚔️⚔️⚔️
1.80 per mile, from PA to WA after deduction 35% will be $1.17 per mile for you. I didn't deduct the diesel or tools. 😮

Which carrier? Currently at cloud trucks is decent not alot or direct shippers
I’m at landstar. There is no money in long haul no more set your minimum rpm to 2.5 and work more with direct agents

I am based out of the London DC that you were at. I enjoy your videos, thinking about going over the road with a lease. This information is helpful.

Pretty much
"I can't wait to see the comments on this one" lol good one
It amazes me that 'destination charges' are going up on items such as cars, but you're getting trips like a buck a mile. Crazy.
Yoyr a good dude and looking better losing weight.
The repairs are always going to be there. I think you realize why good rates keep you in business.
You are rolling, great video.
Thanks 👍

Oh yeah. A while ago. Hauled multiple haz loads already.
Tough out there

What year and total miles does your truck have?
2020. Has about 220k on it. Former port service vehicle though so it has high idle time.

I saw you had an APU payment on one of your loads. Did Landstar help you get the APU installed or did you do it before?
Thermo King and Carrie finance their apu's and install you pay monthly.
@@thisshallpass5031 Do you know how much?
450 per month. It was financed by a thermoking approved financed... Land star did not help.

That lane i5 from north to south been $1/mile since 2011 when I opened my authority, it gets better during holidays boom for short time
You will be billed within 60 days

Nope; that’s his gross…. Probably netted $1000

I feel like instead of checking my windshield washer fluid during inspections they should give English proficiency tests instead.
It’s not going to get better until the next election and that’s if the right candidate gets elected
Record trucking bankruptcies in 2019.
Truckers were at the white protesting these same low rates when he was in office. Selective amnesia?
Even then, we wont see a turn around until 2026, gonna take a long time just to begin to fix the fuckups of the Biden/Harris regime

Yea one candidate has real economic plans. The other candidate wants tariffs on all imports.
