It made the stress of topping spire much easier. I too play this way as a basic way to get up spire. However in a Chapter 5 city I can only fight to the halfway mark of spire, Then convince the rest. This convince is a Great way to accomplish top spire.
I just saw this video and it's great to know that there's more options for getting through the spire than I had thought and my game play for this year has been way off but I like the way it was explained and is much better sounding that I had been doing. Thanks Idavis
Many players, including me, hate Spire diplomacy. This video won't change that. The proposed tips and tricks are almost useless for new players, because we don't have the buildings in the video. This is just propaganda to make us believe that the system is good when it sucks.
Games need to add content for end game players not to get bored. That is what the spire is, something else for end game players to spend their time with. The spire is still useful for newer players. It is a great way to get Combining Catalysts, Spell Fragments and Time Boosters. Just focus on completing the encounters you are able to. Early on, that will typically be only 4-6 encounters. However, every little extra resource can assist your advancement in some way. Just be patient and maximize the effective use of those resourced. Personally, I would recommend saving Spell Fragments and Combining Catalysts for the Moonstone Library set. Once complete, even newer players can get 450 Spell Fragments and a Combining Catalyst for free from the set each days. From their decide what your other goal in Magic Academy are. Be patient and work within your limitations.
The game is completely playable for free. However, you have to be patient and understand your limits. The money making comes from people wanting to advance faster. I don't have any issues with that. This allows the game to extract finances from whales and everyone to have access to the game. As other players have no ability to adversely impact your city, this seems like a reasonable way for the game to make money.
I get around +500 diamonds everyweek on it :) If you have the Fire Fenix + 1 Armory + some militar wonders evolved to level 11 at least you can climb the tower it really easilly I have a new small account in chapter V ( 23 000 points in rank ) and i can climb the tower to the top without external help The problem is that people assume its hard and stop doing it , but the more we try more easy it gets
Playing the game for 5 years. Through all the differences that have come about in the spire, it really gets old after a while. Please come up with something different to spice things up. I don't mean another Algorithm for Spire. It only takes a couple months to figure those out. This last Algorithm. Really!? Patterns on top of the story line, that took really only a month to figure out.
you people ruined spire by increasing the difficulty massively' I used to be able to complete the spire with at least 5 of my 8 city's but now can not get passed the 2nd doorway with any of them' thanks alot.
It helps to be a dev and have infinite resources to get to the top of the spire each week.

I came here to find tips and tricks and I didn't see anything. This is just a simple explanation of how Spire works. Totally misleading title.
It is just the basics. There are more tips and tricks. That gets a bit deeper. Just explaining them is harder.
If diplomacy had at least a hint it might be worth it.

I noticed that on the second round, that the troops were all refilled. So why doesn't that happen for us?

Spire = money trap.
