    COVID CONFUSION: Please do not judge us or other YTers based on the small pieces of clips that make the cut into the video. There is a lot that you never see. For this video. The store was closed. It is owned by Michele (Phil's sister). She is doing the paperwork. We had already been with her off and on for a month. Our friends (and us) self-quarantine before meeting up in the Badlands. We usually take our masks off just before we film if possible. We follow all guidelines for COVID. Masks were not actually required in Hill City or Custer. Although, we usually wore them anyway. You will never get all the info in such a short video unless we talk about it. Masks are not required while hiking outside. We social distanced from others while hiking.

      You look amazing Stacy! Congratulations on your weight loss journey. May I ask if you followed a particular diet like Keto or Atkins? I apologize for being so forward but you look awesome and the quarantine 10 krept up on me. I've been trying, without much luck, to lose it and could use your motivation. Thank you!

    E6000 is the most durable,strongest,shock resistant,toughest,flexible adhesive I have ever come across..it has never failed in any application I have used it in..if you need something held in place forever no matter what it's made of or how stressed it gets E6000 is your savior only thing stronger is a weld..but you can't weld most things..It truly is a Godsend for RV'ers 👍

    When the Ponderosa Pine tree's bark is warmed in the sun it smells like the candy ,"Bit-of-Honey." Love Devils Tower. Interesting that you felt like Devil's Tower was man made. I found Devil's Tower the most spiritual place I have ever visited. If you rock climb, please keep in mind that The Native Americans have ceremonies at the tower in June. Out of respect, the park requests that you not climb during that time. Check the NPS website for more details.

    I've visited Devils Tower three times (last time this past August and stayed at that KOA). There's just something spiritual about the sound of that wind passing through the pines.

    Wonderful video. I have a brother buried in Custer. We stayed in that campground in 2004. You should have taken the train ride at Hill City. I was born nearby many years ago, let's just say it was way back before the winter of 49. Still have pictures of our house with only the chimney and peak of the roof sticking out of the snow. Devils Tower brought back lot's of memories.

  • @curtisrose1

    Hi Phil and Stacy,
    Love your video. We have been to Devil's Tower 3 times over the years. We were there last summer. It never gets old. We also stayed at the Mountain View RV Park. I also highly recommend it.
    When we were at the tower about 7 years ago we saw twin brothers who climb the tower every year on their birthday. When we saw them they were about half way up on their 78th birthday. Talk about dedication.
    Are you going on over to western Washington while you are up in the Great Northwest? If you do I highly recommend Cliffside RV Park on NAS Whidbey Island. One of the best military parks in the country. When we were there last summer we got great sites on the northwest loop right on the cliff. Out our "picture window" we looked straight out on the Straits of Juan de Fuca. We enjoyed watching the whales and dolphins breach and the sea otters playing in the surf. I am not sure if they are open for retired personnel right now but it is a great stop if you can get in. We stayed for a week and would have loved to stay longer but had to head back to Texas.
    I was stationed at Bangor Submarine Base for 9 years and loved it. It is beautiful country.
    I love that you are living the dream. We were able to full time for 5 1/2 years and loved every minute of it.
    Also, if you do get over there, be sure to go over to the Olympic peninsula and drive to the top of Mt. Olympus. If you have time drive on around the peninsula to the Olympic rain forest. It is stunning. We drove around the peninsula on US101 all the way to Astoria, OR (stop and see the Astoria Column) then on down to Tilamook, OR and went to the Tilamook cheese factory (another great tourist stop).

    I love E6000 and E6000 Extreme Tack! You also have to try the stuff they call "Alien Tape" aka "Nano Tape". There's lots of versions on Amazon. We're even using it in my business life to hold wireless access points to walls and ceilings. No waiting for it to dry. This is the version I've been using lately. www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0859T7RNK/

    Devil’s Tower looks amazing. Another addition to my bucket list. Since we have the same model coach, can you estimate how many days you go between propane fillups? We’ve only had our furnaces come on a couple of times. Once was overnight at Mountain Falls Motorcoach Resort in Lake Toxaway, NC in November. Overnight temps dipped below freezing, so we had to enable the propane furnaces for heat and to prevent the tanks from freezing. Just wondering how many days we can go between propane fillups when spending more time in colder climes.

    • @todayissomeday
      @todayissomeday  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Depends on what we put our thermostat on and if we hookups for the fireplace. We went all summer without filling the propane. We went through a half a tank over 7 days in the Tetons which dropped to the 30s over night. We also close our bedroom door and drop the heat in the front to 50.

    • @harterbob
      @harterbob 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      You, Me & the RV Thanks. Good gouge having the front temp set lower, but we normally have the fireplace running to heat the front anyway.

    We stayed at Custer Crazy Horse Campground in the Black Hills back in the beginning of July. We had a great time!!!! We took a quick two day Tetons & Yellowstone barnstorm to get the Grand Teton at sunrise from Swashbuckler Landing.. yes, I took a picture in your last year T with the Tetons in the background (it's on our Instagram instagram.com/p/CCMuHFZpQg8/ )
    We are planning on going back out to the Black Hills again in early June to get our driver's licenses and we'll have to visit one of Phil's Sister's places. btw.. I hope you were able to get some Red ASS from Prairie Berry Winery in Hill City... great stuff!!! :)
    Our next stop is the Finger Lakes!!
    Thanks for the E6000 glue tip!!!!!
    Enjoy your Journeys!!

    My husband and I have an A class and flat tow a car. Can you tell us on toll roads do you have an EZ pass for your RV is it a commercial one and do you need a separate one for the car? We can find an answer anywhere.

    • @todayissomeday
      @todayissomeday  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      We didn't have an easy pass. We were either charged per axle (in our case we had four, 2 RV, 2 Jeep) and we paid at the booth or by mail. The key is remembering where you were (what state) when you drove through a toll station. There is an EZ Pass for that is shared by about a dozen or so East coast states that we should have bought if we had known about it when we started.
