The reluctance might be because every guide out there doesn't explain what the heck is going on. You throw some water and there are vents and i have no idea what's going on lol.. I'm watching this guide and I have no idea why you are doing any of the things you are doing. I tried to just go in and follow along and I checked some vents and they were at 0% and then i died. Idk what it is with volcanic mine but it feels like every guide seems to assume people already understand how the content works.
I'm stood outside the mine entrance thinking exactly the same thing, this is the 2nd guide I've watched cover to cover, with multiple rewinds, and I still don't know how to do volcanic mine. Fortunately the 2nd world I hopped to when the 1st was taken, has a shooting star to distract me for long enough to see your comment. I was gonna go in and follow along with the guide, relying on discovering on the fly, but prob would have died by the sound of it lol Gonna dig for a better guide, thx!
@@KoraOSRS What is your goal from Volcanic mine? In my case I was trying to do the leagues task to get a rune ore fragment. Was SUPER easy to do but took me forever to find the right info. I might be able to help point you in the right direction if I knew what your goal was. Because there's like different things you need to know based on if your goal is XP, collection log, or something else like my case. Regardless, hope you find what you're looking for.
The reason people are afraid is because every guide is like this. The creators assume the viewers know exactly whats going on. Glad you can get some use out of the dead content
I didn't mind volcanic mine too much when going for the D pick, but there just isn't much point when shooting stars are a thing. Slightly less xp in exchange for a lot of afk time.
block if it is under 50% (so the percentage goes up) and unblock if it is above 50% (so the percentage goes down). this is general advice but it will work just fine for most games you want them to be green as long as possible in order to keep the stability of the mine up
You want each vent to stay as far away from 0% and 100% as possible; if they're under 50% block to vent the gases, if they're over 50% leave the vent unblocked
i didn't realize that they had made this more solo-friendly earlier in the year, pretty neat just did a couple runs in leagues with 85 mining + rune pick and got ~1.9k points in a game where i didn't have to fix C, and ~2k in a game where i did have to fix C. i like that more than the quick ~400 point capping method
Bro are you that brain dead? He literally explained everything you needed to know without dragging out the video an extra 30+ minutes with useless information like most other guides do. People act like this minigame is so complicated but it's legit so easy to learn. You just have to use like 10% of your brain power which I know is hard for a lot of OSRS players that need plugins to tell them how to do everything.
Your job in VM is to mine the big rock from its starting position to the end at the lava whirlpool. Along with lava beasts (pray ranged) and environmental damage (dodge or tank), you have to manage the pressure levels in the three different gas chambers so that the volcano doesn't erupt and kill everyone inside. Each gas chamber has vents you can check in order to know the pressure level of its gas, and you want each chamber as far away from 0% and 100% pressure (ie as close to 50% as possible). In solo runs, pressure levels change much more slowly than in masses, and chamber A requires action rarely if ever. Start each game by running to the vents for B and C, then determine if either chamber needs adjusting (block chamber with the nearby rock to build pressure, or remove the rock to release pressure). At the 5 minute mark, the chamber pressure levels are scrambled, so you need to go and check the vents again to see if they need to be adjusted. If any of the chambers' pressure levels get too high or low, they will start to lower the mine stability - if the mine stability reaches 0% the volcano will erupt and instantly kill everyone inside. At the end of the 10 minute time limit the volcano will erupt automatically and instantly kill everyone, so you need to make sure you get out before the end of the time limit (note: you cannot teleport out of the volcano or else your mined fragments will disintegrate and you will forfeit all your points and completion exp).

Came to say this
all this video did is reinforce my reluctance to do volcanic mine, like, what the actual f is going on??
The reason people are afraid is because every guide is like this. The creators assume the viewers know exactly whats going on. Glad you can get some use out of the dead content
Thank you! so many people were either doing the cheese strat for points or the video was like an hour long, so this guide was huge
??? I watched the entire video and still have no clue what to do. "easy solve" explain???

I used to do volcanic mine with the official diacord a little rusty nowadays how do you determine whether to block or unblock B&C Vent
block if it is under 50% (so the percentage goes up) and unblock if it is above 50% (so the percentage goes down). this is general advice but it will work just fine for most games

Awesome showcase thank you!!!
At the 5 minute reset is it ok to just leave at that point? It seems like that would reduce the complexity a lot.

Terrible video, this is not a guide at all
wtf is actually going on in this minigame LMAOOO
Just as a heads up, power miners get around 2.7m mining and 1.5m crafting xp/hour doing gem rocks in shilo. This guide is still useful though.
you literally only explained it as if we knew how to already do Vol mine... absolutely terrible guide

damn this guide did not help me at all. calling this a guide in general is wild.
what a terrible guide, did what you did on like 10 different runs and never got that thing in the middle to show up
on max volume cant hear ya. but i got gist from watching.
my volume is fine with headphones, lvls perfect
