Gloria Gaynor sings, "I Will Survive." She recorded the song in 1978. Stephanie released her 1st album in 1974. She didn't hit radio success until the release of her 4th album " Whatcha Do with My Loving" in 1979, of which the title song put her on the dance charts.
She had made a 3rd album in 1976, but it was not released until 1982. So, depending on your source, her 4th album may be noted as her 3rd.
Both ladies had crossover, radio, and club hits with both songs. I was in college during that time, going to New York on the weekends partying in the clubs. The club scene there at that time was the best ever.The "Whatcha Gonna Do" album ruled New York for months since Stephanie is a native New Yorker.

Faran is quite a young man with great spirit and a huge heart. Stephanie Mills is a legendary, classic artist and entertainer. That, we can all see. It was wonderful to see the "mother" side of her. That, some of us haven't had the pleasure to see. She is an exceptional mother who clearly, deeply cares for and unconditionally loves her son. God bless them both to all eternity.
