So fun to watch this with my older brother. Thank you for suggesting this song. If you are new to reactions, we are supposed to pause and talk over it to be at least somewhat transformative. What a song and what a performance.
My older brother turned me on to Zep. He gave me their entire catalog on vinyl. Imagine that. Every Led Zeppelin record all at the same time. One of the greatest gifts I've ever received.
You are to pause. NOT talk over the best parts of the performance.
@@Dobermanluv it's his channel man. If you don't like it, don't watch. Or better yet, start your own TH-cam channel and do it the way you think it should be done.
How sweet we've met your family, your dad and now Diego ❤️
I’d like to dedicate a reaction video to my wife of 13 years today. It’s our Anniversary. Please react to Enrique Iglesias You’re My #1.
"We were 4 lads at the top of our game."----Jimmy Page.......Understatement of the decade!!!
Zeppelin never played the same song the same way twice. Each rendition was unique.
sounds the same to me .😀😀
As it should be (unique, that is - not what the guy above me said)
Just Like Frank Zappa. And If you haven't heard of him, I suggest you seek him out. The song "Trouble Every Day" from Zappa's debut album, "The Mothers Of Invention - Freak Out " from 1966 is arguably the first Rap flow ever! If you don't believe me, Listen to It... I dare ya'😁
@@leddygee1896 Thanks. That was cool. I have heard of them but not this particular song, it’s definitely ahead of its time. Although, I’d say Cab Calloway’s scatting is also a bit of a precursor to rapping.
The first time I saw Zeppelin live was 23rd March 1969 at my local pub. The venue was supposed to hold 200 max, and there was over 400 people in the hall. They were paid £100 for the gig, and tickets cost £1, and we even got to chat to the band afterwards. Last time I saw them was 4th August 1979, and I saw them another 5 times in between. Each time was better than the last, and their music will live on forever in my opinion.
I saw the Led Zeppelin about 5 or 6 times every time they performed at the Tampa Stadium. I was only 18yrs old at the time. They were totally electrifying live! I'm 73yrs old now but i remember. I knew they were going to be a legendary rock band back then. Led Zeppelin's music will continue to be played and enjoyed for years to come. They are definitely the greatest band to ever walk the earth! ❤
I was there! 50yd line on the field..we drove from Gainesville in a VW van on my 21st birthday!😊
@@RuthKing-wm9nw That's so cool to hear! I showed up every time they performed at the Tampa Stadium. I'd say that I saw them about 5 or 6 times. I lived in St.Petersburg just across the way.
"Led Zeppelin at its core, is a Blues Band." So said lead vocalist Robert Plant. I agree totally. Black Sabbath was arguably the first Metal Band, or maybe Deep Purple. The term hadn't been invented yet.
Talking through a Zeppelin song? Anathema!
Agreed. They talked over the entire goddamned song. LISTEN TO IT.
You could just go watch it somewhere else by yourself if you don't want to listen to them talk! That would be my advice to both of you!
@@debbers that's not the point. It's not that we don't want to hear what they have to say, but LISTEN to the song first, then comment. Or don't you understand that?
@@antarcticorb9197 Maybe you are the one who doesn't understand! This is his channel and it is a reaction channel, so like I said before, if you don't want to hear them talk during the song go somewhere else and watch it "alone"! Because this is not a perfect world, if it was you would have nothing to complain about and wouldn't that mess up your world!
Thank you for your reply once again, I welcome anyone's comments!
@@debbers less subscribers, your choice rude one. I'm doubling down...anathema.
i saw them live in 73 in a 2000 seat provincial theatre in Southampton, uk and on the last night of their 5 night residency at the earls court in london, no support act, just 3 1/2 of magic music, we were blessed to grow up in the 70s, unbeatable nights....peace chaps
Zeppelin was absolutely magnificent!!
Each plays as if they were leading while reacting to each other
My oldest brother was ten years older than me and he took me to a few big, outdoor rock jam festivals, probably mostly to impress his girlfriends. I was a little kid and pre-Vietnam he was a very clean cut guy. Passing that sacrament every Sunday. 😉 So we were not on anything at all and didn't need to be. I got to see some legendary bands all before the age of 10. Then in 1970 he went to Vietnam along with 2 of our other brothers. The world was never the same after that for them or for me.
I saw them multiple times and each time was incredible!
The 1st was 1/31/69 at the Fillmore East. They were the undercard to Iron Butterfly.
1st row right orchestra in front of Jimmy Page. A memory I will never forget. Best band of all time!
Now go listen to their live performance at Madison Square Garden of Since I 've Been Loving You
I saw them in 1977 in San Diego! I was 18 yrs old. It was the time of life! I still blast them!❤
was that at the Arena or when they played in Mission Valley near the Town and Country? Can't remember now.
It was the Arena!!
I saw them in 1977 in Tampa! I was 18 yrs old. It was the time of life! I still blast them! 😊
Take some blues couplets, pour on a strong dose of rock, stir in a bit of fading love as a story line and top it of with a great rock singer.
Tasty!
So fun to see you with your brother Diego!
The beauty and artisty of Rock and Roll is the imperfection of it. Imperfectly perfect.
You can't define Led Zeppelin as "Metal". That was a small part of their reportiere.
Blues/Rock with some acoustic thrown in for good measure.
and even that doesn't cover it.
@@bishopswoodcrafts country and folk too
The song Black Dog was covered many years later by Robert Plant and Alison Krauss. Very different fron the original, but still outstanding. I highly suggest it.
I was able to see Robert Plant play it in Greensboro, NC when Joan Jett opened. My first concert and it was fantastic!
My first concert was Ted Nugent. I was sitting dead center just a couple of rows up from the standing area in front of the stage when the guy on my right taps me on the shoulder and proceeds to hand me a large joint roach clip included. I never did drugs so I did not partake and passed it on down to my buddy who kept it going like doing the wave at a football game or something.
Then the Motor City Mad Man makes his entrance by dropping from the rafters of the arena by a rope screaming the Tarzan sound and wearing nothing but a loin cloth. When the rope drops him down to about center stage he lets go of it and someone throws his guitar up which he catches in mid air and by the time he lands on the stage he is already playing Cat Scratch Fever.
I never witnessed anything like that ever again at a concert.
Sebs, every concert that I went to in the 1970's, the place was full of marijuana smoke. It wasn't unusual to be passed a joint from a complete stranger, take a toke and pass it on. You can see the smokiness in the lights at this concert if you pay attention so yeah, I'd say a good percentage of the audience was high. I loved what you said about their confidence, it's one of the things that I think the band possessed in abundance. Thanks for reaction, for the record, I didn't mind y'all talking. I'd be talking to my brother too!
All the greatest artists have this in common. They channel the universes energy and transmute it to music and it goes straight into your soul via your ears. And I had tickets to see them in my hand and the drummer passed a few weeks before the concert. I was so bummed on so many levels.
Welcome Diego. My parents saw them more than once; the 1975 tour happened when I was 3 - my dad wanted to take me but my mom said I was too young, lol (she has since said she should have let me go, just for the experience, lmao) My mom has always described Robert Plant as "sex on a stick", lol. Both my parents were on LSD during BOTH shows and were mesmerized and taken to a different place. You were right when you described it as a religious experience.
Man, you talked right through the first cool beat shift. LOL! Great song to react to and it's been a while since I've listened as you've hit another one of my faves. Tool and Zep!
Peace to you and your family!
Unfortunately they talked through the majority of it, not sure how they knew what they were hearing.
It is a reaction video after all. Go listen to the original if you don’t want to hear the reactor speaking when he has something to say about the performance that he is reacting to.
@@michealj9936 LOL
@@michealj9936 So touchy! I wasn't saying I DIDN'T want to hear him, I was saying he missed a good part so the parts that are fun to witness someone else enjoying is what we missed. Besides, don't tell me what to do ya bossy bastard!
@KivaDigs I definitely understand your point. Sebs has reacted to many songs I have requested thru the tip jar. Occasionally a part of a song that I want to see how he reacts to is missed because of some chatter or laughter at the critical point that I was waiting on. Man, I figure it just comes with the territory of reacting to unfamiliar music. He has added a “feature” where he reads through the lyrics afterwards and usually catches anything he missed during the song. Not quite the same but close enough for me I guess.
Sebs however is definitely the most entertaining person out there at doing reactions in my opinion. I apologize if I came across as a little snarky. That wasn’t my intention.
I saw them live in 1969. They were amazing!!! But so we're the others there, Paul Butterfield, johnny and Edgar Winter, 10 years after, janis Joplin....good times
Enjoy every moment with your brother, lost my younger brother several years ago.My mind is filled with so many memories,it’s like he’s still here.
Led Zeppelin was is their own category of blues rock n roll. Their live performances were perfectly imperfect. I am 59yo and was weened on one of the greatest albums (double album) Physical Graffiti.
Saw them in 1977 in Seattle, I think the ticketts were $4.50, went in sober, left high from ther their show.
I was at that show too. Had just graduated from high school, was absolutely sober because we got pulled over and had all our alcohol dumped out by the cops. It was in the trunk so they didn't bust us but we had to watch them dump it out. One of the cops told us he had tickets but had to work so his brother went instead. Magical night all around. Almost 50 years later and my ears are still ringing. I think it left cracks in the brand new Kingdome.
Use to be my ring tone. I kept jumping every time the phone rang. Had to change it to hey Jude. I'm 63. Saw Robert 2 times 1985 1988 Dallas. Saw sir Paul Dallas 2002. Saw Ringo in Oklahoma 2023. Saw almost every band. First concert April wine 1973. Peace bro. Texas
I was so lucky to see them on the Stairway to heaven tour in San Diego. It was magical!
My favorite song
May 7, 73' in Jacksonville Colliseum. Definitely in my top 5 shows ever.
Nice seeing your brother joining in with this reaction. Great to see🤓🤓🤓
❤❤❤Robert ❤❤❤
They are magnificent!
Thanks for your reaction to the best band ever.
Since I’ve been loving you
Live at MSG in1973❤❤
Zepplin has a stumbling beat.
Like a drunk walking home.
(Ie, Lots of syncopation…)
It's a tricky time signature. But yeah. They're all on the same page. And it changes back and forth
there was a VHS movie released of the MSG concerts called The Song Remains The Same, this video you are reacting to is not from that movie but it is from the same series of performances. They included the best performances in the movie.
Black Dog is the morning after the night before!
I’m glad you did this one it’s a great song
It has always killed me that I missed Led Zeppelin (I was too young) but I have seen Robert Plant numerous times in the recent past.....he's still magical.
Great reaction my friend
Thanks for your reaction to the best band ever.
Since I’ve been loving you
Live at MSG in1973❤❤Oakland California in 1977. I saw Led Zeppelin no stimulates they were Legendary ❤❤
The dissonant sounding shift in the riff before the solo is totally intentional
saw Led Zep and Lee Micheals at Keezar stadium in1973. I could write a whole book about that day.
True musicians--no autotune, no photoshop, mothing. Yes, they will mesmerize you.
I did see them live in 1975 in St Louis. They played for over 3 hours. It was wonderful but also sad in a way as I knew I had just seen the best concert I was ever going to see. Your analogy of a Religious experience were right on. They were the best that's why their music is still relevant after 50 years.
It is one thing to be brilliant in the studio, but another thing to play like Gods live... Zeppelin did just that.
I am sitting here wearing a t shirt that says, Yes, I am old, I saw Led Zeppelin live on stage. I saw them when they played the Warehouse in New Orleans in May 1973. I was a senior in High School. . I wasn't on drugs. The tickets for the show were $5.00 if I remember correctly. We sat on pieces of carpet on the floor unless you were lucky enough to get up against the foot of the stage.
I saw them in '77 My Favorite Band !!!
With this band that rock and roll trance is known as Led Poisoning.
Welcome ✌🏻
AH!!!!
Saw them in 1977. First stop on the tour. Minneapolis. Almost 4 hours of greatness. And of course there were some added mood altering affects going on.
Man i bout died when i saw the Gualmar shirt 🤣🤣🤣💀
Check out my merch store!
Saw Zeppelin on February 8th 1975 in Philadelphia and again on June 7th 1977 at Madison Square Garden. I was completely sober for both shows. I also saw Robert Plant with his solo band in March 2005 at the House of Blues in Myrtle Beach, SC. All great experiences. I was 17 in '75 and '19 at the '77 show. The best concerts were in the 70s.
Knebworth 1979
Jaw dropped, mind blown, absolute 11😂
Must do John Farnham reactions of Black Dog. It will be audio only as it was a mic check _warm up song. Thank God the audio tech recorded it. He never sang live at his shows.
I live in Salt Lake City. So Led Zeppelin live in Seattle in the late 1970. This was in the Kingdom when they still had that there. Yes I was on something and now I wish I hadn't been but I still remember loving it. Is they are the best band ever!
Nice shirt, Sebs!
saw them a few times in the UK
never had to be on anything
to totally be blown away by their talent
Was born in 67 and tree was no way my mom would've taken me to see them - but in the 80s i did get the pleasure of seeing Robert plant and Joan Jerry on the now and zen tour. We sang every song and were pooped on our way home!!
This is one of those songs you MUST first hear the album version. You don’t get the punch the opening without the dead quiet.
I saw them in Oakland, CA in 1977. I was not on anything. I know I am extremely fortunate to have seen them, all 4 original members - they were epic. Have since seen Plant solo & with Page, and with Alison Krauss recently and absolutely love him still. He has evolved - check him out now.
1976 - MSG first row seats - you can't describe it.....4 hours of bliss
Saw them I'm May 1977 @ The Capital Centre Landover Maryland
We saw them twice and it was a blast. Literally. So loud your teeth might rattle. But even back then we knew seeing them was a historic event.
Saw them April 1977. Good show! Loud! lol. Unfortunately, a few months later their US tour came to an abrupt ending (R. Plant's 5-year-old son died suddenly).
It was sad for sure. I was 12yo and was going to get to see them with my big sis on that tour.
I tried to buy Zeppelin tickets in '75 in St Louis (I was 12 years old) but they sold out in minutes so I lost out. ☹ Never had another opportunity to see them again.
I still miss John 🥵🥵
In 73 they played 3 nights at MSG... all sell outs and could have done 5-6 nights as ticket requests were crazy...it was specifically recorded to edit for their upcoming full length "The Song Remains the Same" concert movie...this live plus some theatrical scenes chosen by each band member.
Unfortunately Sebs if a song has been doctored (remastered) that likely means that at least the vocals have been run through Tone Control and Pitch Correction software. It’s becoming somewhat difficult to find live tracks that haven’t been pitch corrected after the fact by someone on behalf of the musician or band.
If anyone is interested, Fil of the Wings of Pegasus site does “Analysis” videos that aren’t a competitor of or a replacement for reaction videos like these by Sebs. Using software that actually graphs the vocals Fil can visually prove whether vocals are original or have been pitch corrected.
Additionally Fill recently “busted” the Eagles for actually miming pitch corrected versions of their songs during their live concerts. A suspicious fan sent Fil a video of the band’s live performance asking if they were really singing or only miming. Analysis showed that they were miming! He then determined many other bands are also guilty. Fascinating and eye opening stuff!
I think he’s checked Zep and Plant and determined that Plant has not been. If I recall correctly. That doesn’t mean that some jerk won’t do so in the future….but I know it would highly piss off Plant and Page and JPJ.
I forgot about Fil...quit watching couple yrs ago when he started taking his shirt off. Ugh.
@@JuniorFarquar I absolutely have no idea what you are talking about.
Saw them twice..at 15 yrs old ..
Opening night MSG 77.. went the next night and scalped a ticket for 20 bucks.. Still my best night ever!
THE LEMON SONG PLEASE. BEST BASS PART OF ALL TIME
Ledgend has it that the reason they named the song Black Dog is because they didn't know what to call it but there was a big black dog hanging around while they were writing it so they decided to just name it Black Dog. Live Zep is always fun but the studio versions are more polished and sonically pleasing..
I saw Zep a few months earlier than this show/film was made in 1973. It was here in the UK.
I saw Led Zeppelin in concert in 1969 and 1970 in Kansas City. At the time I was a singer in a garage band in college. We did songs from the first album but not this song which was later. Was I on something? Probably. I don’t remember. Is that proof? Anyway, they were electrifying in person.
Back in 1975….I saw them perform at Madison Square Garden for six consecutive nights….back in the day tickets were $20.00 and the only way you can purchase the tickets legally was mailing either a check or money order in advance of the concert date….
WoW YESSS **Perfect** cuz they put me in a **Trance** ALWAYS ever since i 1st started listening to them when i was 8 yrs old up until today as i am watching this **Reaction** They are just **Extraordinary** & **Magical** in that consistency to me YAY **Luvit** heh sorry had to pause it to say that OH & obviously my answer to the being on substances is NO ha since like i said i was only 8 BUT yes as i got older i also listened to them with them BUT NOPE tis NOT mandatory cuz yea am put in a **Trance** regardless heh k back in now...
Concerts back then everyone was on something. Even if you didn’t do drugs. The weed flowed freely back then, even to cops were stoned.
About 1976 I believe. Pontiac MI. Record breaking attendance at the time. I think around 180 thou I think. Someone will correct me maybe. I still have the stub. $10. Pretty much like this
I was there too. It was April 1977. You should know that there is a documentary about that show. Search TH-camr "JCM Led Zeppelin Stories."
You should watch Since I’ve Been Loving You from the same concert - Madison Square Garden 1973.
I saw Led Zeppelin in early 1972 at Southampton University, just before Led Zeppelin IV (the runes album!) was released. They had released Led Zeppelin, Led Zeppelin Ii and Led Zeppelin III and Plant introduced a song off the new album saying sorry about the delay in releasing the album, we can’t think what to call it!!!!
Please stop talking during Led Zeppelin 😢😢😢
need to watch the video and not the reaction to it,
It would get blocked if he didn't interrupt. Saw them in Glasgow 1971. Amazing.
@@darthv1001it’s not the pause. I get that, and he always does it. It’s the gabbing with his brother over the music…..it means he’s not really paying attention to the music…which is what a reactor is supposed to be doing, right?
@@jss27560you watch a reactor to get their reaction to the music. Not to watch him have a confab with his bro OVER the music. There’s a big difference.
Ok, I understand now. Good point
More Zeppelin, please.
You hear this and think it would be the greatest achievement of Metallica or GnR etc...and its just one in a pantheon of great and utterly unique music by Led Zepplin. They have more than a dozen legendary tunes.
I watch you all the time, Sebs, and I gotta tell you, don't talk during the song!!!
Winston Churchill called his depression “Black Dog”.
ive seen robert playing live. he was on fire in 2003.
My best friend at that time worked the center where LZ was playing and he got to set up the stage and put Jimmy Page's guitar on the exact spot so they could come out on stage in the dark and find their instruments.
Your brother is super cool😅
I was a teenager when the film was released that this was taken from. It is funny. I see TH-cam comments all raving about how good this sounds. It is good, don't get me wrong. But here is the kicker. When it was released it was criticized because the band didn't sound their best. People that saw them live complained. It didn't capture the magic. Robert even explained it by saying that it was recorded at the end of a tour segment and they were all tired. So think about that. As good as this sounds, this was not one of their better shows.
All thd ladies were in love with Robert Plant..this song made us crazy lol!
YAY YAY YAY!!! Sooo **Excited** to hear **YOU** your **Brothers** **Thoughts** & **Feelings** on THIS by **MyBelovedOtherWorldlyLedZeppelin** & Course **MyBeautifulJimmyPageMagicalGeniusWizardBabe** F YEA!!! **Best Band EVER!!!** to me anyway! K goin in Weeeeeeeee...
Live is always better..👍
In those days, this was shot on film and audio recorded for film is superior. That’s why it sounds so great Re-mastered.
Still trying to learn the solo to stairway.
It's a must know for a guitarist
Listen to "Ten Years Gone" from the Physical Graffiti Album. My favorite Zep song. I'd love to see if your reaction is the same as mine when I heard it 45yrs ago as a guitarist.
It sounds like a simple song to play. But Jimmy Page said it was their most difficult. Jon Paul Jones intentionally wrote the song with each member actually playing something different. It was impossible to recreate what they did in studio. Yet it still spunds epic live.
Re-Mastered only means they cleans it up!
A religious experience, yes that was how the concept of "Houses Of The Holy" came about.
Most of the time with Page especially 68 to about 74 they are intentional mistakes, as fanboyish as that sounds. He likes a touch of chaos in music to offset the angels, like a comparison in mind by which it can measure. You will often hear him throwing stuff in recorded versions, or ends to songs just to play what he called light and shade. Stunning musician.
