@Mountain Ish Who says that Kurds are supposed to have a high R1a percentage in DNA? Kurds evidentially don't have "Iranian" genetics. Just "Iranian people" do have a high percentage of R1a in their genes. You forgot that the Kurds are made up by several diverse ancient ethnicities/people groups and tribes. Parts of the Mitanni, Sumerian Karda, Medes, Gutian, Lullubi and others inhabited the regions of Western historical (Greater) Kurdistan region and are supposable among the ancestors of the modern Kurds. So no need for you to refer to the Kurds as "Iranian people". A part of the Kurdish people were Iranian, but just as the other ancient Kurdish groups adapted (voluntarily or by force - doesn't matter to be honest) it doesn't make them less Kurdish. The term Kurd basically just means the collection of all those equivalent groups :)
