- In today's video, I'll be opening and reviewing (1) 2023-24 Panini Select Basketball Hobby box. These boxes sell for $575-650 a box. Each box contains 12 5-card packs. Look for a variety of prizm parallels including the ultra rare Zebra and new Gold Glitter, as well as numbered cards starting at (#'d/299) down to Checker Bronze(#'d/49), Tie Dye(#'d/25), Gold(#'d/10), Green(#'d/5), , and Black Finite(1-of-1's). Chase after patch autographs in Rookie Jersey Autographs, X-Factor Memorabilia Signature, and Jumbo Signature Swatches. Past and present stars autographs can be found with In Flight and the ultra rare Select Few Signatures. Dual and triple autographs include Select Pairings and Hall Selections Signatures, respectively. Insert sets span the likes of En Fuego, Select Future, Sensations, Snapshots, and Unstoppable. Case hit inserts include the returning Color Wheel and the all new, ultra rare Starcade. Select highlights the new rookie class of Victor Wembanyama, Scoot Henderson, Brandon Miller, Keyonte George, Jamie Jaquez, and Ausar and Amen Thompson.

🃏🃏🃏 for FUN FACTOR: Select hobby is kind of a Motte & Bailey. It makes you think you're getting something in every pack, but when it's all said and done, you've got a lot less than what you felt like you got. Great word salad.
🃏🃏 for VALUE: The price tag at $575-600 is a tall task for 4 numbered cards, 2 auto's(of guys you don't want), and 1 napkin patch is a big ask. Too big of an ask.
🃏🃏 for DESIGN: I've come to the conclusion Select looks like the players are trapped in a room whose walls are slowly closing in. It's kind of ugly.
🃏🃏🃏 for COLLECTABILITY: Select plays third fiddle to Prizm and Optic. There's still enough there to make collectors seek out some of the parallels and case hits.

Wow, congratulations for calling your shot - sweet card. To pull a numbered Wemby from Hobby is the dream. I have pulled a lot of Victor Wembanyama RCs (Over 400+) and still haven’t gotten a numbered version. Nice card! 🤓🏀 So jealous.
It was one of those things that worked out perfect. That is an insane amount of Wemby RCs, though!

For NBA it goes prizm, select, optic for prices for sure, NFL optic may be better then select.

NFL Optic Blasters are good. It's close for me between them and the Select Megas. Wonder if the Optic Megas will be even better.
If they don't change the box checklist from last year for sure. I keep wondering when 2022 is going to get clearanced.

It might be. The box price would also be drastically lower.
@huxbux I don't think it is fair to charge more just because the Chase cards are more valuable. We don't see the prices drop when the rookie class isn't great.
