It is a slight bummer that Sideswipe and Sunstreaker DONT have spoilers, but still looks like the best version of the character

In the 80s, spoilers were cool, now they look like silly, pointless decoration. I'm good with a more modern take, but I'd prefer if they got brand approval for actual road vehicles.
Hasbro must have a bet going on with how many Sideswipes and repaints they can release for the WFC triology

Really irritated that I missed ironhide and prowl, gotta get this! Sideswipe was the first Autobot I remember connecting with as a kid, always thought he was the coolest.
Dam hasbro really dont like skywarp being common and easy to get. Siege: impossible, earthrise: hard, kindom: hard?
@@jacko_3770 in the uk its hard, without bbts, it's dam near impossible, it was only available for the smallest amount of time (probably due to plastic shortages).

I feel this one to be a bit of an easier purchase than the Mirage/Grimlock set. Siege Sideswipe with Earthrise Suntreaker alt mode is pretty impressive and does look to be the best of all the Sideswipes we’ve gotten in WFC. And this BW Skywarp looks fine for what it is.
Amazon exclusivity and inflated price can still rot in Unicron’s smelting innards though.

The Kingdom Grimlock is just an updated version of the original Beast Wars Grimlock toy that was a repaint/remold of Dinobot
except the new grimlock looks like total crap, its paint apps look terrible, I cancelled my preorder as soon as i saw the pictures.

This a great two pack!! These figures look so awesome especially the sideswipe but unfortunately this pack is an exclusive and many people outside US cant get it sadly or have to pay ridiculous prices on eBay. Great review Prime vs Prime!! Love your channel!

This isn’t just an amazon exclusive. It’s available on Hasbro Pulse UK / US and has been since it was announced. Still in stock. Plenty of chance to grab a set. Feels like there’s more stock about recently as some figs have come back into stock and others more readily available at retailers.

@@curbydinobot8633 yes and no. In Beast Wars US he was Silverbolt yes but then we got the Fuzor. In Japan the Magnaboss team was used in Beast Wars 2nd and he becaise Skywarp. The Lion LioJunior (because the leader was a white lion LioConvoy) and the elephant Santo.
Yes it would be cool if they did that and it will combine to form magnaboss

I have only been collecting the Beast Wars characters from Kingdom, so I don’t care for the Sideswipe personally.
However, as a big fan of the Japanese Transformers shows, I am planning on getting this for Skywarp alone.

Sideswipe is from the 80s. This Skywarp was much later and actually from a Japanese series.

My biggest issue is that Sideswipe still doesn’t do enough to separate itself from Siege. It’s just a little too lazy. Same with Mirage and Ultra Magnus to name a few
I was lucky? Enough to never get siege magnus or mirage, so it turned out well for me, but I think the reason they aren’t different enough is that the siege versions were almost earth vehicles anyways, just a few tweaks was all they needed. That’s actually a problem with seige rather than the new kingdom stuff
@@draconic1802 that’s a fair point, however, they plan these lines out well in advance. It really comes down to cost saving on molds and idiots like me who will buy it regardless.

Now what we need is a lio junior which will be a new sculpt and a santon which is a retool of the kingdom rhinox with a new head, a new chest, new weapons, and a new beast mode head with ears
I'm not really into either of these characters, but they look pretty good! I definitely prefer this release of Sideswipe to the other versions of this mold (except for Gigawatt).

This Skywarp gives us the hope that there could be more Japanese BW characters to come, otherwise he would have been called Silverbolt.
However, we probably can't see a Magnaboss combiner. That's a bit sad...
No combiner, but good chance they remold Rhinox into Ironhide (the elephant) and Tigatron into Prowl (the lion).

The Siege mold has a car mode which looks like a futuristic concept car. Kingdom one looks like some alien car from outer space

They did change the back to look more like ER sunstreaker so it looks more earthy.

So glad you used that clear stand from Hasbro to show Skywarp. I just got mine a few days ago and one of the main things I wanted it for was to display Airazor on it. Was having a difficult time configuring it around the wing kibble to get a good pose. Definitely stealing some ideas from what you did here.

I bought both of them and I really hope they’re not canceled by Amazon.
First of all only american amazon charges for this set as much as prevoius grimlock and mirage set. European amazon charges as much as 2 deluxes cost in Europe. Pulse alse didn't mark up the price afaik. Secondly Beast Wars Grimlock is the same character as G1 Grimlock just reformatted as Maximal. With Skywarp he is more obscure there is nothing stopping anyone from calling him Silverbolt since they were almost identical(He just had white head instead of silver one). Then you again have G1 character reformatted as Maximal. As for why they chose that character, well it's an easy repaint.
Also here I am not caring that much about Sideswipe I just ordered this set for Skywarp.
Is there anywhere to get a 3d spoiler build out?

Imo the only reason to get this set is if you have Earthrise Sunstreaker and you want the vehicle modes to be similar. Perhaps if they gave him a spoiler and sold him individually as Walgreen or Target exclusive, I would be slightly tempted. As it is, I'll stick with my siege figure.

I do feel bad for those who've been screwed over with Amazon exclusives. Especially since I haven't had any real problems with them. In fact I actually quite like pre-ordering from Amazon because I use gift card money so I don't have to worry about my credit or debit card being charged at a bad time. But personally, I love these sets. Both Mirage and Sideswipe were characters I was more than happy with their Siege versions and would have shrugged at the need for Earth mode versions of them. But from what I've seen, they're totally worth it. And I'm genuinely thrilled to get some more Beast Wars characters outside of the main cast. Grimlock and Skywarp will be fine additions to my collection. But that's just me. Good review, thank you.
Not as much as I feel bad for Geewunners hating on Beast Wars ever since it came out in the 90's, glad I left the Geewunner bandwagon as a Beast Wars-er.

You are correct. When the toy was released in Japan as part of the Beast Wars II line, he was renamed Skywarp, as all the characters from the Magnaboss set were renamed. Why are they going for the Japanese name? I don't know, but many hope it means that we're getting a new version of Fuzor Silverbolt.

Also, Beast Wars Grimlock is not from Beast Wars II (pronounced Beast Wars Second). He was a toyline exclusive Beast Wars release. Characterization wise, he is basically G1 Grimlock reformatted into a Maximal.

I’m canceling my preorder since all I want is Sideswipe, and earth mode Sideswipe isn’t what I was hoping for. Maybe with a spoiler I would consider keeping it, but it doesn’t. Keep in mind I don’t own Siege Sideswipe and I’m passing on this. I’ll continue to wait for the next iteration. Maybe a generation select Sideswipe down the road? The wait continues for the right Sideswipe.

I think Siege Swideswipe is now overused. I really dig this one and I actually might prefer this version over others cz that paint and earth mode vehicle does look rather appealing but I just don't think its worth all that much if its almost the same thing we've gotten before about 4 times now. Guess if you have never gotten any wfc sideswipe before it might be worth going for, or if you're also after skywarp which I gotta say also looks awesome.
All I need is this guy in the Generations Selects line as Red Alert.

I cant believe you didn't do a Sunstreaker vehicle mode comparison with Sideswipe.
I'd rather of had a crow Decepticon based on the Nu-RID character faction - than a Beast War II version of a character. Heck I'd not even have minded if it was a grey bird of prey of some sort then I could pretend it was 1/2 of Fuzor Silverbolt.
I guess I can just pretend Grimlock and Skywarp are some sort of Dimensional traveller or just an example of nameslap like with Inferno, Megatron, & Silverbolt.
But overall I think a "new" character would have suited my interests more... at least if it had been a Corvicon then it would have had some interest to someone. & would follow the tradition of adopting a character from one segment into another as already done with Lockdown, Lugnut and Barricade to a large extent.
If they just need to use a mould to recoup the cost then I guess I'd not mind a Predacon Rhinox Figure to much.
Oh and yes Amazon exclusives such as Amazon has lousy distribution and they tend to overcharge a bit for some things compared to their inherent value..

Not a lot of retooling? Every vehicle mode body panel was retooled to match the Sunstreaker car mold. THAT'S minor? Hell I was expecting a new roof and that was it XD When I had seen the new chest I was surprised but seeing the entire car body changed was a shock actually. I still agree though, should have ditched reissuing Arcee and Wheeljack for this figure to be in the main line.
So if you have the siege sideswipe should you get the kingdom or no what does everybody think
A reoccurring trend of these two packs is they always include one character we want and one we don't.

I couldn't care any less for the Beast Wars figure, and I really don't like that I have to buy it to get Sideswipe.
I'm sure there are Beast Wars fans that feel the same way in reverse.
I would imagine most people (besides scalpers) don't want both of these.
I would even have been fine with changing the two packs around into like series.

Really love the way skywarp looks but sideswipe I couldn't care less about, same goes for the mirage. I kinda hate that hasbro is almost say yeah we screwed up with siege here's the earth modes, and I loved siege.

Not sure what you're talking about. Are Eagles and Falcons even really that different? The paint job alone I think is enough to make him come across as an Eagle. Falcons don't have coloring like that. Anyway... the figure looks good but I don't really see the point without the other two to form Magnaboss.

Hasbro are just so unconscionable. They exploited a pandemic with limited exclusives. They release mainline characters as exclusives. And they like to squeeze every dime e.g. not packaging Kingdom Sideswipe and Red Alert together wide release but rather packaging them separately as - you guessed it - exclusives sold with beastwar characters! 🤦♀️.
(0:48 - 0:55) what’s wrong with Beast Wars II? It’s a great show (different from the American version) and there is nothing wrong with it, and it is where the first Black Optimus Prime/Lio Convoy was ever introduced and later becoming Nemesis prime.
I do wish the original Beast Wars got a reboot with BW 2's animation tho'

cant edit my comment for some reason but the blaster and rocket launcher existed already in previous versions of the figure and always match the plastic color of the spru they come from its not worth the effort to make 100% new sprus to make a gun a different color

Actually spoilers don't add a ton of speed if any so I can see Sideswipe not using one
They keep the back of the car down on the ground they don’t speed it up like most people think

Hasbro have so many opportunities and options on characters but they become lazy give us the same cast or really bad repaints for stupid money that’s why lately I just concentrate on third party more bang for your buck
