    This layout is designed in such a way that it could easily be adapted to N scale, HO scale, O scale or even G gauge. It's genuinely one of the most easily adaptable layout designs I've ever seen.

    First, it’s great seeing your videos again. That is a nice looking layout, like the way you can pack it up for shipping

      I got lucky with this particular project. I thought for sure it would need two pallets but splitting up the levels the way I did really made it quite compact. As a bonus splitting it up the way I did apparently was a good thing as the client recently told me it's made working on it a bit easier with his back problems.

    Your benchwork builds always look so cool.
    What a co-incidence: I've also just finished a 16x11 three-deck railroad build. I'll be loading it into a trailer today (for future reference - the same day this video was released). The first video installment is scheduled for release next week.

      Your next one doesn't happen to be 25 x 54 does it? =) My Summer project is probably going to stress me out a lot but it's going to be a beautiful HO layout.

      @@MRBenchwork Not quite. I have a full double-deck 20x40 coming up. It was initially supposed to be more like 28x50-something, but the space got reduced.

      Sorry for the multi month lapse in videos. it was due to health issues. I've got videos for the next 3 weeks and possibly more after that but I'll honestly never upload on a regular schedule as it's just not practical.

    Would be very satisfying to see the layouts empty and filled out. Even step one of getting it landscaped. I have had a train table my grandfather made me when I was young. Probably 30 years ago. It’s just a sheet of plywood cut in half with a hinge to fold it in half. Has a large lip added to the outer edges that helps keep it ridged and protects the edges of the plywood from damage. Sawhorses with those double head nails to make them easier to pull out.

      I agree that it would be satisfying but unfortunately, I don't often get to see these layouts past the subroadbed. If David sends me an update I'll certainly share it. I may have a few other layouts I can provide visual updates on this year as well so keep your fingers crossed and perhaps we'll all get lucky.

    i am curious. What material are you making the curved sections? How do bend the material? Very nice. Thanks and nice job.

      I think this plan is a good starting point but a bit track heavy for my taste. I'd love to take a second crack at this plan. If you're interested, I'd be happy to design something for you, just reach out via my website.

    what a beauty, top :) -how long did you work on it?

    • @MRBenchwork
      @MRBenchwork  ปีที่แล้ว

      That's difficult to answer as I was having some back issues during construction so it dragged on for a few months but the actual build time is less than 2 weeks. If it wasn't for all of the glue setup time it could have been a lot quicker but each piece of curved benchwork was one day. Glue it up, let it sit for 24 hours then pull it and glue up the next one.

    • @franzbrunner499
      @franzbrunner499 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MRBenchwork thanks for such a detailed reply -you can't force the glue to dry quicker -no matter what, very nice work, i'm impressed

    • @MRBenchwork
      @MRBenchwork  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@franzbrunner499 Well actually that's not true. You can actually get UV activated glue that will set and cure in minutes instead of hours. The setup and materials for it however are just not very practical for a small operation like mine. Additionally it's not like the rest of the time is lost. I just work on modular orders, answer emails or do other things. It's really just a case of juggling.

  • @Beux3751

    How much did it cost?

    • @MRBenchwork
      @MRBenchwork  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I typically price layouts at $50 a square ft per deck. This layout was a bit different however as there were no surfaces, grades or other subroadbed.
