Anna has some defects as Manon - pitch, pronunciation. And yet she is so magnetic that she manages to create a thrilling Manon. By the way, the scenery is funny - the Eiffel Tower is nowhere near the Cours le Reine!
I love it but I can't understand a single word of what she says and I am French ^^. I am still a big fan of hers but really the subtitles are actually a big help !

first there is the russian accent, and she doesn't pronounce correctly, her vowels are too round and too soft. French is a language that necessitates a clear enunciation with "mordant" and precise consonants. Plus you have to differenciate the different nasal sounds. It is so easy in french to hear if someone is a stranger or not.

I'm afraid I don't enjoy it when I can hear singers who do it so much better, However, I don't begrudge her success; anyone who can perform opera demands admiration.
