I was there as a child very traumatic experience that I still have a hard time getting over. The spratts were my foster parents who took control of my brother and myself when my mother broke a rule . She went to the girl home and we were given to the spratts in the 80’s . I never forgot the abuse
Barbara my heart is always with you. You told my story as well. I felt as if we were back there together again . I still live through the nightmare we were put through. I'm fucked up forever because of Rebekah. I can't even find a Therapist who will take me on , I've been told over and over your CPTSD is too extensive for us to deal with ... I love you sister !
I was in Rebekah in 83 and 84. I had no idea that this place was still open. I remember they were being fought to take a state license. My "dorm parents" were Mr. and Mrs. Barrett and Mrs. Harmon was a grandmother figure in the dorm. My name was Bethany or Beth Cooke at the time I was there. This video brought back a flood of memories, some good, mostly bad. It was the bonds between the girls that made it tolerable. I pray for the girl that are there now.
I was in Bethesda and wrote of my time there in a Cracked magazine article as well as a podcast episode. These stories need to be heard. This abuse has to stop.
The story she tells about the girl who was “stabbed” was not true. I was a secretary downtown at the time and I was called to pick the girl up and take her to the doctor. She was released with a bandaid and went to my home to call her mother (for a third time). She was running around like nothing happened. Her mom asked if she could spend the night with me and I agreed. She then returned to her dorm and was famous for a few days. The perpetrators were immediately sent home. There was no sitting in the office with stab wounds. I’m wondering what else this woman embellished or exaggerated about.
Some of them probably did exaggerate but the evidence is overwhelming that abuse took place in these homes which is illegal but there still in operation
@@jordanduran859 I’m sorry, I and many of my friends worked there day and night. Of course we heard the crazy stories and knew the girls that were coming up with them. We wouldn’t have worked there if we thought these things happened. Similarly, it’s now your word against mine. I just listened to this woman again and these allegations. Babies born? Beaten bloody? No medical treatment? I, myself, took my turns driving kids to doctors and dentists, and we always took them for ice cream or McDonalds. Sermons playing over loudspeakers 24/7? These kids were in school and playing outside. Although I was a secretary downtown, I did the “hall walking” several times a month all night. I got to bring snacks, music, and games and the girls would all come to the common area. It was like a slumber party. No girl tried to slip me a note or ask me to rescue them. Maybe this woman went through all of this but I sincerely doubt it was at the Roloff homes. Those kids swarmed around both Brother Roloff and the Cameron’s whenever they saw them. Watch this video again. I’m a criminal attorney now and I don’t see her as credible, do you?

Who was this woman that interrupted this victim? How disgusting and how insensitive. If the hearings needed to go on for 5 days then that's what should have taken place for all victims to fully express themselves and their experiences. This gathering doesn't seem very compassionate to me. May God bless you my precious one and all the other victims of these brutal monsters
It’s because the Judges know how far the homes went to protect the youth from what we have going on today. If you don’t like the Rolloff home you def shouldn’t like the public school system that is in place today. Lol. Absolute programming for sex and violence.
We’re absolutely doing that as well. Everyone on our board are from programs currently in court. Circle of Hope, Agape and The Family School. It takes EVERYTHING to get these started so we hope more Survivors and staff will join us.

Because they were brainwashed by those homes and accepted life as a consistently challenging punishment that must be endured. Accepting Jesus Christ into your heart isn’t that hard, but it’s all relevant. In the IFB or even SBC world, your life will be changed and transformed into consistent holiness and sanctification. If you’re Pentecostal, Church of Christ, or Mainline Protestant that takes your religion seriously, salvation comes with terms and conditions and you have to hold on to it and live a consistently holy life to get into heaven.
@@jondstewart brainwashing people is to gain financial or physical control. Barb, you were awesome 😎 To bad they have to ruin it by saying your time is up. I know how hard that was for you. I know I could not have done that. I would have started crying and would not have been able to stop. I hope they can do what is right and get this finally stopped, NOW!

I’m so angry watching this. I was right at what I assumed was going on at those homes. Roloff wasn’t no hard but fair fundamentalist. He was just as evil as that John Hagee fellow in San Antonio, just in a different way. God took his life early because he was angry at his cruel and tyrant ways. And his rigid diet plans could never be substantiated. His daughter died at 67 and wife died at 80. Early death and life expectancy. They followed his diet as long as he was watching.
