Yes I am very touchy about quantizing keys, it can easily take alot of feel and natural touch out of the keys sound.

Quantizing sometimes can’t always capture a musical phrase you feel. I think it stems from Neo soul music how it lays behind the beat a little bit 🔥

I can 100% relate to the ram issue! I bought a 2015 MacBook Pro with the lowest configuration for uni AND for music stuff on logic because the shop assistant said it would be enough. Fast forward to now and it has held up amazingly but I’m a lot more advanced and can feel the limitations of 8gb ram and 128gb storage.

Very good information. This is great for the technical. But you left out the most important thing. Now I am assuming you are a Disciple of Christ, if you are not that’s cool too as I know a lot of non-Disciple (believers) that are dope musicians, engineers and producers. But for those of you who are Disciples and understand your Levitical responsibilities, the first rule to ministry (delivering the Gospel) should be to pray and be led by the spirit, and not your soul. This will go over the heads of many as stated in 1 Corinthians 2:14. Any form of “Gospel” should be held as sacred as we are all a royal priesthood. We should seek God first in all that we do. Some of the most Spiritual not soulish, but spiritually beautiful and enriched songs were produced by men and women who were led by the Holy Spirit to pick the sounds, the rhythm and the tools they used. The only templet they used was prayer and consecration. So pray first, be led by the Spirit and not by your soul (your emotions). Emotional experiences are temporary. Spiritual is everlasting. Again, great advice for the technical aspects. This is great advice for all genres of music. But “Gospel” is sacred. Gospel music may sound great sonically and move your soul, but if you can listen to or produce a Gospel song and then 5 minutes later smoke, drink, curse, lust, you are soulish (not the same as carnal) and it may get you a few pieces of silver and move the crowd but it won’t minister to the spirit man, just the soulish man.
Blessings little brother. Keep up the great work. Praying that your channel increases in size and that you are blessed beyond measure. 🛐🙏🏾🛐
