I’m so happy I found your channel and series, I love the historical aspect of this play through. It’s definitely going places! I’d love to see an almost Haussmannian revolution in this city at some point. Suggestion: Maybe build a satellite village somewhere to support some industry, which can later be incorporated into the main city as it grows
Oh man, thank you! That really means a lot! I read every single comment and that just brightened my day! As for a Hausmanian revolution: I was thinking about a post WW2 rebuilding and restructuring kind of episode. Also: Satellite villages are a yes. You see this so often throughout Europe, so I want to replicate that as well. Again thank you!
My suggestion, There could be a biforcation of the railways around the citycore down to the river and basically have a west-east railway line and a north-south railway line crossing the river. In that way you could keep that diagonal coming from the city centre straight going to the station and the station would be on a much better focal point. I got the point of building around the pre-existing railways line, but you can also change it to fit better your purposes.
Thank you for the suggestion! I am not very knowledgeable about trains so this hint is much appreciated! I will see what I can do. Luckily we haven't really touched the tracks all that much yet with the surrounding buildings.
Really looking forward for this series. This is right up my alley, 'playing' the game, while also aiming for a realistic build without too many mods or assets, and going for european city. I didn't really follow your other series, but I'm really looking forward to the part where you'll make everything pretty ^^ Some of those vanilla buildings are such an eyesore. One question I have is: why are you using so many angled straight roads, and why aren't you going more often for slightly curved roads? Is there a reason for that?
Thank you, glad you are enjoying it! For sure the vanilla building are... something. I already have an episode planned prettying stuff up once high density is unlocked. As for the curved roads: I just forgot I could use them. I just also realized that it would make the old town look more realistic. I will keep that in mind!
great video, just subbed! I hope you continue this series! personal opinion, I hate the low-density commercial buildings soooo much especially the taller ones with all the advertisements on top, I always bulldoze them whenever I see them and just because of my hatred for them I downloaded sooooo many assets XD ( I think you should allow yourself to just put proper assets instead of those big neon ligths commercial buildings)
Thank you! I will for sure continue this series! Also I already planned to change the buildings eventually once I unlock high density. Additionally I will get a few European looking workshop assets. Will be a little while though still.
Oh yeah, that could fit well! I am trying to really leave open spaces in this playthrough as I struggle with building too dense sometimes. Thanks for the idea!
Those roads still look American tho. A lot of zebrapaths and wide roads. To bad City Skylines can't fill in the spots so there aren't gaps between the houses.
Agreed, the vanilla roads are too wide. I will try and remedy it somewhat though in the infrastructure episode. Also I will have to use mods to fill the gaps in these irregular shapes blocks.
@@erKrieger1 Yeah, that will make it look perfect! Maybe an idea, a ringroad around but so that can still see where the old road was going. You see that quite often here in The Netherlands where a road through the center is being looped around. This road could also have sportfields right next to it.

Yay, my suggestion! :)
It was so spot on and I loved that it works in multiple languages! Again thank you!

I think the forest close to the future train station would be a very nice and big city park.
