Saw this match live in the stadium. LCW was a legend and Srikanth was hardly a name in the badminton circuit. When the match started, everyone in the stadium was cheering for LCW. However, the way Srikanth played the first set, by the end of that set the tide had changed in his favour and the crowd was going absolutely mental for Srikanth. What a match !!!

He watches the shuttle land in but gets called out by line judge and raises his hand to challenge in favour of Kidambi. He knows it was a good shot landed in and that his opponent deserves the point.

I will tell you guys. That year, lee chong wei is already retired and was promoting about badminton all around neighbors country. So about this match, is a friendly match and the shouting to the player is normal when the match point is near end. When you in the court, you can feel the pressure of facing the opponent who was the best badminton player all time. Player can be a bit emotion because the pressure while playing in the court is intense. It was very tiring when you play single. We must respect them and the achievement they get. The match between this two is a great and the best match. I love them both❤️❤️😌

I am a huge fan of LCW and Srikanth. Watching them playing against was so fascinating. I was not concerned who won coz unfortunately LCW retired. Any which ways, seeing both of them play against each other made my day.
LCW is the God of Badminton. He has no comparison . It's good to see SK winning him after decades. 🙂

He played with him at age of 37 as friendly match to promote badminton.
There is so much fire and confidence in Srikant during this match. Nowadays I see lack of that fire and confidence in him. Hope he gets his form back and becomes world no 1 again
