Thank you. In my case, (hd0,msdos3) was not unknow. It was "File system is ext2". So, I used (hd0, msdos3) for boot and prefix. And it worked. But this issue had repeated everytime I restart. After that, I entered grub rescue commands again and went to my ubuntu. I ran 2 commands in ubuntu terminal: sudo update-grub sudo grub-install /dev/sda And my issue has been completely solved. I hope this helps someone like me.

It worked You have to execute the command in order. In the list command, if you come across Linux partition that's the one msdos(n) you have to set. This was not told in the video. When you encounter any error, you have to reset and then start all over again. No short cuts.

i was forced into doing this, my grub completely fucked up and wouldn't let me in my linux, put in your kali linux as live cd/usb and mount your linux then reinstall grub from there.. I had no other choice but thankfully nothing was damaged in the process, Look up a tutorial on how to reinstall grub from live disk and follow that process! Good luck

Installing Linux/Windows dual-boot is trash. Did the process a few months ago and I’m still having issues getting rid of GRUB and Linux. Each time I’m forces to re-install Linux and fix Grub. Unless I do a clean install of Windows, I’ll probably never get rid of dual boot.

If you deleted the partition of ubuntu before deleting grub boot loader, then this process will not work here.

i have problem with error " no such partition " after cmd isnmod normal, but i didn't delete ubuntu or linux partition. My grubs problem happened after windows 10 update, just pc restarted and turn on fail? so if i use your second video it will help ?

when I typed *insmod normal* its again says no such partition? all the above line from *insmod normal* works fine
well...after insmod normak / normal - i get the message again : no such partition - unknown command: normal.
what should i do ? only my hd0,msdos3 is in ext2 format , and the one after that. or maybe only this one . slowly im getting confused :D
the point is , that i can not choose any of these partitions , because they are either unknown or it just doesnt react anything to the commands.

Bro, I previously had triple booted windows 10, Kali Linux and Ubuntu on my Laptop but when i updated my windows to Fall creators update and restarted my Laptop the the above error came and I tried your solution but only one of them works which takes me to kali linux or windows 10 but no option for ubuntu

Installing Linux/Windows dual-boot is trash.
Did the process a few months ago and I’m still having issues getting rid of GRUB and Linux.
Each time I’m forces to re-install Linux and fix Grub.
Unless I do a clean install of Windows, I’ll probably never get rid of dual boot.

bro i have 5 partitions, but when I remove hard disk for restore data into other pc, and then fix back to the same pc, it is showing only 3 partitions.. with same error "no such partitions" What I can do to solve this problem so I can save my data in the all drives?? Please🙏

i have kali Linux in my laptop (nothing else means no other OS) now i got to know to uninstall kali linux and install windows make a bootable pd of lubuntu by try lubuntu without installing , i had done that and then from its Gparted i have formated the computer storage now when try to install by bootable pd of windows it shows grub rescue .and its not showing bootloader for Windows only now i can run on my laptop is Try lubuntu without installing. how to insatll windows now.

after u successfully boot to os,boot to linux first n update the grub,bc everytime u restart your computer the error still show up

I just conected a new HDD and when I turned on the pc to install Windows showed this error message, Does this method work in my case?
So this didn't help me because after checking all the "ls" one of them showed different than the others and you didnt explain if something other than filesystem is unknown what to do.
