These tiny eye glass hinges are really looking great. Precisely and nice made, sturdy and probably longer lasting than the door itself. Fantastic idea to use them in scale models. The price is unbelievable! Your Airbus H125 (??) model looks very beautiful! It must fanstastic to see such a big sacle model in flight! Merry Cristmas and Merry Helidays as well for you and best greetings from Poland! In April 2021, when I was a bloody beginner, You gave me (Matthias from Poland) the best advise ever: To fly WITHOUT selflevel as soon as possible. I followed your advise, learned hovering in 3D mode and feeling the real fun of "balancing" collective pitch helis with full manual contol!! Thank you again for this advise!
@RCCopterLove - yep, these little hinges will outlast the helicopter and me too I'm sure 🙂 Glad you are enjoying the hobby so much - that's the goal. Merry Christmas and happy "heli days" to you & yours. 👍
@@Rchelicopterfun Thank you so much!! Especially for taking time when i needed advise! I love flying more with every day and every bit more control and feel I get for my helis!! In August 2023 OMPHOBBY invited me to their Factrory Heli Pilot Team - they wanted one "normal" , but very passionate pilot, representing the huge group of (elderly) pilots doing sportsflying and NOT banging the skids like crazy. It's so great to have to possibility of testing prototypes and new model before the hit the market.
Hear ya go 🙂 th-cam.com/video/fbLWjZbY6TE/w-d-xo.htmlsi=BdenidO1DMODGbwv That's the best I can do seeing that we (MAAC - Model Aeronautics Association of Canada) members, lost our Transport Canada exemptions in 2023 so posting flying videos on TH-cam is now considered "commercial RPAS" operations which requires a special Transport Canada certificate and permissions which are not allowed from our shared usage flying field.
Very disappointing to see that Roban is using such crappy quality parts on choppers they're selling for around $2000 USD currently. Glad I refrained from purchasing their large AirWolf.
Not really when you know what the alternatives are and what they cost. Roban by comparison is a low cost bargain in the world of medium/large scale helicopters; nothing else comes remotely close for the price. Sure, you can shell out $5K+ for a similar bare bones Vario and likely double that for a Heli Factory machine (plus painting costs of both); then you'll get better quality scale hardware, keeping in mind most of it you'll have to purchase separately as it doesn't come with the kits. It adds up very fast as you saw from the prices of Vario hinge sets. At least Roban includes all that stuff in their super scale packages, but most importantly, their HSM 700/800 mechanics platform is solid. They thankfully don't keep changing the HSM platform either so you can still get parts for them for years. Good mechanics with good long term parts support; the two things that are important to most of us scale enthusiasts. This heli will be 11 years old in February, and with hundreds of flights, it continues to put on a good show and is a joy to pilot; but to each their own. 🙂
Very good idea ! Is it our hero pilot with the moving head ? Why can't we have videos of your latest flights ? I miss them a lot ! One more thing I am interested in is your turbine helicopter. Do you still use it? Would be appreciated if you did a complete tutorial/explanation of the turbine start-up and operation , even on a bench with the electronic controller explained, etc, etc..Something like a '' RC Turbine for idiots '' video .😄 Happy holidays from Montreal to you and loved ones !! ( Yes, don't wear a Montreal Canadian hockey shirt unless you have a brown bag over your head....🥵😩)
Posting RC flying videos on youtube is now considered "commercial RPAS operations" by Transport Canada. MAAC as you know lost its Transport Canada exemptions in February 2023 - thus no more flying videos are allowed until MAAC gets its exemptions back; at least with our airport usage agreement which won't allow commercial RPAS even with a commercial RPAS certificate. Yes, it's in Class G airspace, but our rules are many (both MAAC and airport owner/operator sanctioned) seeing that it's shared usage with full size aircraft. The PDF's of our flying site rules, SOC & RPASWilco site survey if you are interested can be found on MAAC's website under the Valemount Airport field section: www.maac.ca/en/clubs_details.php?club_id=571 Will MAAC ever get all its TC exemptions back, including the separation of commercial RPAS and that of traditional LOS recreational RC flying? Your guess is as good as mine. As long as there is money to made, I doubt it. Yes, I still fly the trusty old Bergen Intrepid turbine often as it remains one of my favorite birds in the fleet and that's a good suggestion on a video covering the basics of the turbine system and a start and run up sequence. Until that time, you may be interested in a couple videos I did on it going over a start sequence after I overhauled the turbine engine and one on programming a turbine start method on Open/Edge TX. 1. @@Rchelicopterfun Are you serious? You mean nobody in Canada can post a video on TH-cam showing his R/C plane or heli taking off and flying from his backyard ?? I will watch your recommended videos. Thanks !
To grasp the scope of legislation, you have to fully digest part 9 (900) of the Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs) and Standards. tc.canada.ca/en/corporate-services/acts-regulations/list-regulations/canadian-aviation-regulations-sor-96-433 MAAC losing its Transport Canada exemptions in February 2023 was catastrophic; people still don't seem to grasp just how negatively impactful that loss of exemption for MAAC members was/is. Under 250g models as you know are exempt from most of TC's CAR 900 regulations, but they still fall under location regulations. For many not a problem putting a video of a sub 250er flying in their yard up, but our house is within 5NM of a CFS (Canadian Flight Supplement) recognized aerodrome and 1.0NM from a CFS recognized heli port so there's the restriction. Would TC or Nav Canada come after a small time youtuber after seeing a video? Who knows (probably not), but I'm certainly not going to risk the consequences if they did, which would include losing my MAAC membership & insurance, my TC RPAS certification, my MAAC instructor certification and a hefty fine because of some jaded whistle blower. Never mind all the personal time and effort over the past 4 years I put into finally getting a MAAC sanctioned and insured flying site for both planes and helicopters here in Valemount.

Awesome tip JS and a damn sight better (no pun intended) than the shyte 3d printed rubbish that they are all exploiting us for. Thank you, as ever. T
