Hey amazing video. The food looks amazing! Just a heads up, as a Chinese I realise a lot of the Chinese people commenting here are quite political as this is what the algorithm often pushes to a lot of more politically inclined Chinese living overseas 😅 But please dont mind them! Enjoy your trip and have fun as a tourist!

Foreigner, please don't tease me. The surveillance on the road is not meant to monitor you. As an ordinary person, what is worth monitoring you for? Even the wealthy are no exception. The surveillance on the road is for better investigation of cases and management of traffic inside. Without privacy, it is the matter of the app software. @@zingwibrothers This is quite sci-fi. Additionally, if you've noticed, many places have a device with a camera that uses facial recognition technology. China has a comprehensive information system that allows for hotel check-ins, train boarding, payments (just by scanning your face), and ticketing, all using a mobile phone combined with facial recognition. Even airports offer a temporary boarding proof. If you happen to forget your ID, you can register a temporary proof on your phone by entering your ID information, which will verify your face on the phone and log your flight details.
Of course, all these systems are interconnected. The CCTV cameras on the streets can almost precisely identify each individual, so when someone goes missing, the police can quickly use this system to find the last known location of the person. Such potential privacy intrusions might make people feel insecure, but honestly, if the government wants to investigate an individual, there are almost no means for that individual to counteract.
When you enter the country, your facial data is also registered in the facial recognition system. If you visit popular tourist attractions, such as Zhangjiajie, after your initial ticket purchase, you can forgo paper tickets because your information is automatically recognized upon entry to the park, verifying that you have indeed purchased tickets.

Waiters don’t speak English, most elderly don’t, people in the service industries (excluding hotel receptionists) don’t. But most younger generations do speak decent conversational level English, and by younger generations I mean every one in their 40s or younger. This is because English education has been the priority for Chinese parents for quite a long time. Just go to anyone who look likely to have college level education you won’t really feel such a big language barrier. And for this I m speaking of Shanghai. It may not apply to the entire country but it could. I’m just not sure.

honestly no need to speak english in China, unless for academic study and communication. Furthermore, Mandarin is the official language but not the first language for many chinese. The first language is our native dialect. In my hometown wenzhou, many people simultaneously speak three totally different dialects plus mandarin. If youngers cannot speak fluent english, I also think it's reasonable. I would never complain people of any nation cannot speak english. There is inconvenience, but this is what travelling around the world is like, it's a part of travelling

Many USA Internet companies refuse to abide by Chinese laws and choose to withdraw from China on their own initiative. Microsoft, Apple and Amazon, which abide by Chinese law, have been operating normally in China.
On the contrary, Chinese Internet companies have been making every effort to abide by the laws of their host countries, but USA and its affiliates have been trying to ban their local business. India, the largest "democratic country", banned all Chinese Internet companies and their products a few years ago.

Don't interpret what you see with negative emotions, but instead deal with it with an open mind. Many foreign apps are restricted because they do not want to abide by Chinese laws, but there are many good apps in China that can be replaced. Chinese is the world's oldest and most spoken language.China was never colonized, so people living in China don't need to learn English, but many Chinese learn English in order to understand the culture of other countries. The reason why China is the safest country in the world is because the Chinese people agree with the government to install cameras in public areas to maintain law and order. Absolute freedom and security are two sides of the coin, and our privacy is protected at all times. Chinese people are very friendly and like to make friends. @@chynavirusakawuflu9961 Analyzing the real reasons behind such anti-China rhetoric requires understanding the complex interplay of international relations, political motivations, economic interests, and geopolitical factors. Here are some key reasons:
      1. Geopolitical Rivalry
      • US-China Competition: The ongoing rivalry between the US and China spans multiple fields such as economics, technology, and military power. Pressuring China is part of the US and its allies’ strategy to contain China’s rise.
      • China-Russia Relations: China’s support for Russia, especially amidst the Russia-Ukraine conflict, irritates some Western countries, prompting them to criticize China.
      2. Domestic Political Factors
      • Distraction: Politicians or media may use anti-China rhetoric to divert public attention from domestic issues like economic troubles and social discontent.
      • Electoral Politics: In some Western countries, taking a hard stance on China can gain voter support, especially from those favoring strong foreign policies.
      3. Economic Interests
      • Trade War: The ongoing US-China trade war makes anti-China rhetoric appealing to domestic business groups affected by China’s economic rise.
      • Market Competition: Discrediting China helps certain industries or companies reduce the influence of Chinese competitors in international markets.
      4. Ideological Conflict
      • Democracy vs. Autocracy: Some Western countries oppose China’s political system and believe a tough stance on China supports the defense of “freedom and democracy.”
      • Human Rights Issues: Criticizing China on human rights grounds garners support from international groups concerned with human rights and freedoms.
      5. Information and Media Wars
      • Media Propaganda: Anti-China rhetoric is part of an information war, influencing public opinion and shaping a negative image of China internationally.
      • Cyber Attacks: The widespread anti-China sentiment online could be orchestrated, spreading disinformation and inflammatory remarks to foster discontent and hostility toward China.
      Conclusion
These intertwined factors contribute to the persistent negative rhetoric against China. This is not just about individual opinions but a reflection of the complex strategic maneuvers in international relations. Understanding these backgrounds helps in comprehensively addressing and responding to such rhetoric.

let me explain my chinese friends why do they do it....especially in western media there is a rumor. these cameras are for ccp watching you... ccp give you a number according to the your behavings.for example you did not work very hard enough your score goes down. you worked well enough your score goes up..if you do not talk with foreigners your scores goes up..with these scores you can have little freedom..for example you can go to the park with your family and enjoy..if your score is not enough you cannot go to the park, your child cannot go to school, you cannot find work, you cannot get good salary etc etc..these are the topics all western nations are watching on tv. reading in facebook and twitter.. i know all chinese people they do not know even what am i talking about..but according to western people all you are slaves. you are numbered..you can not even go to the park freely. you are all under control. so these control is made by cameras...so foreigners in china they took pictures of cameras and gives to the media..they say look it is true. everywhere camera and people are slave here..

That thumbnail of yours is harassing, and I am saying this to give you more traffic. We've been to Shanghai, China last December. Yeah... China is so advanced. China is safe with or without cameras. It's probably due in a large part to the culture in China and other East Asian territories which places the community good above self. Cameras are required for high tech and surveillance is part of that, and why not? And cameras are essential for observation, not just for the individual safety from such thing as theft, violence, accidents, etc. but also for the community, for example, to prevent such things as an unforeseen accident, such as a stampede considering that the number of people in any one spot could just surge and create a stampede or something. However, with cameras, you can be assured that you are like 100% safe that even an occasional drunkard can't get away with any crimes, petty or otherwise. And, why not? All the negative and false narratives in regard to cameras, etc., for example, are due to hypocrisy, jealousy, etc., and well, just blatant racism (but for racism, at least, the racists should not be inferior). London, Britain has the highest number of CCTVs per capita, and yet the darn place is rife with crimes, the homeless, etc. And, OMG, the Brits, and the Nazis, the pariah politicians, journalists, etc. want to lecture other people on freedom, safety, ethics, human rights, blah blah blah... they should take care of themselves first. Welcome to the future! This is true and real freedom. OMG! Yes, it would take at least 20 to 30 years to catch up with China, and for any Western city to develop to what Shanghai is today and by which time, Shanghai would have developed even further but the Western politicians and their pariah media keep peddling fake news and disinformation, misinformation and false narratives of China. Enjoy!

Like any other country, China does have problems. However if you multiply small problems by its population, they become big problem in the eyes of westerners. Street cameras are also to be found in US and UK and mind you no lesser in number in big cities like New York and London.
Amongst other things, cameras secure your personal safety and are efficient tools to track crimes. And, China has fine tuned crime control to make it a very safe country with lowest crime rate index. In China no individual rights can override public good and no amount of money can be used to lobby for political influence.

Sure, China is not and was not a British or American colony. Hence, people do not speak English. India was British's; Germany is America's. Hence, you speak English. What? Germany is not a colony? Who blew up your pipeline? What did you do about it?

In China, people that had to do manual labor or work in the field gets darker skin tone, those that are more educated with better jobs sit behind a desk, would get a lighter skin tone, so lighter skin is seen as a status symbol and preferred. In Europe, on the other hand, the wealthier ones can afford to take vacation at warmer places and get a tan, so they prefer showing off their tanned skin. The skin tone preference is different, but the motives is the same, it is all about showing off their own social status.

Ordinary people in China do not speak English because China has never been colonized, and China protects its own Chinese culture. All official documents, TV subtitles, and foreign words must be expressed in Chinese. Of course, those with higher education generally know English. But most of the people bloggers come into contact with on the streets have not received higher education. If it is a business trip, they will find that the situation is different.
