Great review as always. Not enough battery life, or ram, and 4K isn't a good idea in this form factor IMO. Finger print magnet and screen too reflective for my liking. I can see some going for the novelty and looks but personally I would hold off and see when the 2 Watt screens come out.
I'd love to see a 1080p touch version with the other specs lined up here. I'm needing to buy a laptop relatively soon and it's good to see a slightly cheaper option than the XPS 13.
Yes I wood... That 4K display was really nice. I feel you about having to get used to the keyboard design. I like the upped graphics to enable utilisation of that beautiful display. It would have been lovely if they offered a better RAM and perhaps a low-power display. The wood finish is pristine - I'd happily carry that around. Methinks that 6 hrs is very low for a system of premium calibre, but it otherwise does stand out as an excellent machine with a more than reasonable price/performance ratio. I have a quick question about the brightness of the spectre x 360. In the uk we can only get 2 different screens the 4K and the FHD however the brightness for the FHD is claimed to be 1000 nits. Do you know if the US has this model and can you please verify the brightness if you do have this model?

There is a1080p 16GB version. See for example "Envy 13-aq1040ca". It doesn't have the prius integrated graphics, but has the GeForce MX250 as a dedicated card (although it's supposedly a bit disappointing).
One thing I'm gonna complain is the lower speed 2400 mhz ram which will hinder the Iris Plus graphics performance. They could have go e with 3733 MHz lpddr4 memory which most premium ultrabooks are pairing g with Ice Lake Processors.
How is the stability on the Dell XPS 13 9300? The earlier reviews in March seem to be littered with problems like fan/thermals, Thunderbolt, a black screen using AC power, etc. There is a video from Just Josh that tells everything about these issues. Please let me know if there is anything wrong with your unit as of this time. Thanks!
The major difference is the price. Dell's XPS lineup is their top-of-the-line laptop range. If you want excellent performance out of the Dell with a better screen, trackpad, etc., and are willing to pay a premium, XPS is the way. Envy is still an excellent choice. You should get the Full HD model of the Envy (if it has one). There are also new AMD Ryzen 4000 Series variants coming in May. Let me know if this helps!
Just a couple more questions. Does plugging and unplugging the AC power adapter result in a black screen for a couple seconds? How is fan noise? How is performance in Ultra Performance mode in Dell Power Manager with a repeated benchmark? Notebook Check's measurements are low in performance (Cinebench R15). HP is a good company, they invent and are creative. But, they never finish off what they started. Like, come on HP, why didn't you make at least the back of the laptop wood as well? The keyboard design is much better than the overall exterior design.
Too bad the keyboard is angled when you open the lid as that will destroy your wrists. It would have been much better if the keyboard had negative tilt like the ergonomic keyboards have. Sculpt and k860.
Only 8GB ram is unfortunate. Also, for the upgradability of wifi card is still questionable. On my older HP laptop, it is replaceable, but only with the same model card. I tried upgrading it from a 802.11n card to 802.11ac and it wouldn't recognize it because that particular card wasn't white listed in the bios.
This is a nice and "pretty" laptop. The wood panel to me is sort of gimmicky. When I buy a machine I get it for my use and functionality. I think for the money I would go for the Spectre 13 inch fhd model. Just my opinion. Anyway great review.
Disappointing writing on that disk, and it is becoming a little annoying to see that the front facing cameras still don't present to us great video quality. It is 2020, and the video quality for the front facing cameras, is still grainy and as no contrast.
