Hello i find braiding so therapeutic to apart from when it stresses me out lol im trying to do more complex braids of loose horse hair and struggling to find any tutorials online, do you know of any please? i know your comment was quite some time ago. x
Thanks, you do awesome work and your explanation is clear and easy to understand for a beginner like me! I would also like to know how you prepare the mane hairs before you start. Do you just twist them somehow? I would love to see you make a video on hair prep!
Can you post a video on how to continue the braid, working in the new pulls and what you do at the end of the braiding, with all those ends you got sticking out?
Thank you for tutorial. I have started my own horse tail braid for a hatband. Would you be able to give a tutorial on steps nearing the end? I'm uncertain how to make the knot and loose horse hair ends, as a typical hatband has. There is not much on the internet regarding this topic so I am at a standstill in completing my hatband.
Hi Robert - thanks for this great video - so clear and easy to follow! I have a request: can you post a video that shows how to prepare the hair and make twists?
+Teresa Vecere take the hair that you want to use,an even number works best.Tie a knot at one end , separate the hair evenly on either side of your leg, hold the top with one hand while the other keeps the groups of hair separate. Start twisting till you reach the bottom or the shortest hair.Tie another knot and you have a twist.
Thank you for this video an your reply! I have a cute lil pony named Porter. I'm making/trying to make a bracelet for a dear friend. An you have the best tutorial out there ☆☆☆☆☆
The reason the strands (pulls) are staggered is so you can add (splice) in a new strand. Staggering keeps you from having a splice for all the strands at the same place. This will keep the work at a uniform thickness throughout and you can get the length that you want. You will eventually trim off those standing strands that are sticking out.
enjoyed the video. By the way--that is real horse hair lol--it is a twist of several hairs together. Did you ever put any more videos of other types of braiding the horse hair, attaching bracelet ends, making twists, or anything else that could help me?? lol
Thank you so much for this tut! I've been asked to make a few bracelets from her pasted horses... But what I'd like to know is why did we stagger the top of the braid ends? also how did you prepare the beginning stands to come out with 12? Lots of questions but I really need some help and will always be here to help you if I can with things I have some knowledge on.. "Hippie Hugs with Love", Chele
What if i need to make a braid longer than the horse hair? Can you show how you lay in the braid the new string of hair (i guess you at the end trim the excess barbs)

my step father used to make this stuff and sale it he had my mom doing it and she later had me and my brother doing it . the hard part is the ties . we used to get raw hair clean it and die it .
Could you please tell me how you made all of the hair stay together in strands like that? I can't find how to do that anywhere and what I have tried doesn't do that. Thank you!
@@buckskinpinto909 Nope. The nasty POS that do this don’t want any anyone else to know how in case we steal customers away from them or some such nonsense. Greedy pieces of trash.
Thank you for this. I make bracelets out of horse hair for PTSD sufferers and this gives me a new design. ❤ it!!
can you show me how you do it?

@@coffeememe I can try, never made a tutorial before. You can subscribe to my channel and I’ll post something in a few days.

The hair looks waxed and heavier than my horses hair. Did you prepare it first ?

Did you find out how to do this?
do you have a video on how to finish...thanks
Very Cool!
why is it so thick to begin with? are those lots of hairs already stranded together
Uh....how did you prepare the individual 'twists'??
The way i did mine was take the individual strands and braid them and that made the 'twists"

Vorrei imparare 😍
How do you add a pull to continue braiding when one of the strands gets too short?
are you going to put more of these videos on here?
My Brother taught me how to do this braid, but I can't get my strings to stay twisted.. What is the trick to that?
Great video. Do you use 10 twists? How do you make the twists?

@@PorterRanch when I do that, the whole thing just untwists itself. how do you prevent that?
@@more5347 are you tying a knot at the end? Are you separating the hair into two groups that are being twisted around each other evenly?

Thanks!
how do you finish it off
How do you add in a splice to continue on for a longer braid?
Did you ever find out?
Could you please tell me how you made all of the hair stay together in strands like that?
I can't find how to do that anywhere and what I have tried doesn't do that. Thank you!
I would like to know too. Is it six strands braided as three?
it looks like the hair strands have been twisted around a really thin wire.
Horsehair braid
When your braid is through burn off the hairs that stick out. Be careful, though.
i see no sense in making the ends uneven.
You sound like Jack Nicholson.... lol cool though
I know this comment is super old, but I totally hear Michael Douglas
#don'tsmokeandvideo
Thats not pure horse hair
Why do you say that?
It is but its many made into a twist.
This is pure horse hair. im being trained to prepare this exact same strands for braiding. I hand twist 12 individual hairs into these strings.
Very nasty ..
How do you splice in other pieces to add length?
Did you ever find out?
