I came back from College for Christmas with my family. Felt cat activity all night. Woke up covered in dozens of cat toys like little offerings. Never have I felt so beloved.

I went to my parents house for Christmas with my kids (16 - 6yrs), and my neices cat spent the nights bringing me toys and changing my youtube videos. 🙃 😆 i think he's been lonely after she went to college. Sweet boy.

Our cat prefers my wife because she's one of those sleepers who lies down, folds her hands over her stomach, and doesn't move for the next 8 hours.

I know...so,so cute. You can tell they have a close bond. I love how he is so kind and gentle to his kitty during the wee morning hours while she's dancing all over him, I can so feel the love.
cats do not see humans as parents, they are independent minded animals with a wild instinct, they see humans more as friends than dads or mums
Mine will do this too but only when I'm going to sleep not already asleep.
I had a cat who lived with me for nineteen (19) years starting as a very young kitten until he died. Throughout his entire life, he always slept above the top of my head. That made good sense because I toss and turn at night, and anything place on the bed except right above my head would be very dangerous. The cat loved me enough that he wanted to sleep in the same bed as I did, but he also had a healthy does of self-preservation. Over twenty (20) years since he died, and I still miss him dearly. More than most human beings I know.
Same for me! My cat Angel lived for 23 years, she passed away last year in May. I knew her my whole life and she also slept above my head because I toss and turn. She was a literal angel and so loving. I miss her so much🥹 she was truly something special

I’ve had my cat nearly 8 years and we have a set bedtime routine too 😂
My cat wallows all over me which I don't mind.. until I broke 3 ribs last week..OUCH... Even now he wants to lay in my arms across my chest.. he's big cat too ! hurts like crazy but... aw.... I love him.. and I named " HIM", Cray Cray.......... he has me well trained.

I read (just yesterday), an article that cats rarely sleep deeply. They are always "on guard", and it really upsets them that we sleep so soundly. The article said if your cat spends the night with you (mostly awake), they are guarding you to make sure you are safe, or that they can wake you if you become "not safe". Sounds like you have a "watch cat"! ♥

@@ladyhotep5189 you might think so, but not in my experience. I have 2 cats and just started treatment for sleep apnea. I wake up enough on my own, my cats are only making it worse so I think I'm going to have to start locking them out of my room at night 🙁
i dont know about light sleeping, when my cat goes to sleep sometimes you could drop a bomb she isnt waking up, i just think thats trust & her knowing there are no worries so she feels safe!

I don't sleep well due to PTSD, so I actually enjoy the little dance at night with my cats. It's our way of spending time together.

I discovered the dog too. Our deceased Loonchen has a better, special relationship with me in bed. She often lay on my pillow and even licked my hair.
Must have been a special sign, of the very "clearly adores" where I was concerned. The lady also turned me down fast and insisted on her food in the morning.
I was just her slave or the female caregiver. My husband did not tolerate her sleeping on his pillow. He also did not react when Loonchen showed her diva attitude.
Loonie knew when and with whom she got her will.

У меня кошка, я ее взяла в приюте. Не знаю кто ее воспитывал, но она никогда меня не потревожит если я сплю и как то чувствует, когда я проснулась и тогда будет по мне ходить и пробирается к рукам, чтобы я ее гладила.

Amazing activity through the night, I've often wondered how active my 19 year old cat is while I am trying to get a good sleep, I am awake a few times a night, too. I don't know how many times i've woken up with my 1.5 year old tabby BeBe Bleu sleeping beside me on my pillow, between my legs or spooning me. She's just so adorable. I can often feel her when i'm starting to nod off trying to get comfortable.

@@Symora Some cats you mentioned are probably not fed enough or not played before bed so they are quite active at night. All of my cats sleep at night because I play with them before bed to tired them. Of course they don’t sleep through the whole night sometimes but most of the time they sleep like us. Sometimes they can be woken up by us when we moved 😂

@@kristinab1078 my cat comes to sleep on me especially in the winter. Yes I wake, but just long enough to say hi give her a little cuddle and stroking. Then I’m off to the land of nod with her purring gently whilst lying on my lap and then have a very deep satisfying sleep. Bliss😻

My parents had a house fire late at night a few years ago. The cat didn’t sleep with them, and they often kept the bedroom door closed. As smoke filled the rest of the house, she pawed and rattled the doorknob until my mom woke up and opened the door. Luckily there was a sliding glass door on the bedroom, and they were able to run out, because at that point the fire was out of control. The house was a total loss, the cat very likely saved their lives. She was scared away by all the commotion, but she stayed nearby and they found her safe the next day.

I had my cat save my life one night. I had been her human mom since she was about 2-3 weeks old (rescued). It was actually Mothers Day and I drove 3 hours to spend the day with my son and his girlfriend. I was already overtired. After a wonderful, the plan was for me to spend the night and drive home the next day, but I wanted to return late that night. Arriving home I was soooo exhausted I didn’t change clothes and just fell into bed. My cat snuggle like the video and then started clawing at my lips! I woke, told her to stop it… then fell back asleep. This went on all night then I realized,,, I had been too tired to breath!!! I stayed awake and purposely took each breath the call my dr. In the am. This was the alert /diagnosis of my heart problems and Congestive Heart Failure. She saved my life. 💕💕💕 🥰

Replying to December. Yes she knew my breath was not working! I had had her for 2-3 years at that point in her life. She had been abandoned by her mom. Vet said she was blind in one eye but he managed to get the other eyelid open . He said she wouldn’t have been able to keep up with her mom. We found her behind my sisters outside air conditioner. She had been carried around by me for a month and slept under my chin ,ear and almost on my neck. “Silverado. “

Basically the reason why cats nudge you a bunch and get so excited when you wake up in the morning is not because of food, but because cats are naturally very light sleepers. When they see you dead asleep for several hours straight, they worry that you're dying and check on you. So then if you're not breathing in your sleep like jeri your cat will notice immediately and panic.

The grooming means they really trust him and feel safe around him. Mine likes to put his paw in my hand when he sleeps. Cats are so awesome.

That is the best kind of cat. My current kitty is pretty good at sleeping through the night as well, but when he was little he'd just lie in bed and stare at me until I woke up. I do feel like I deserve it after all the years I spent having my toes chewed on and surprise claws in the back 😂
Ive had a little cat that would do that all the time, and she would be under heat so she would meow her way in and get around me. Her best spots to furry cinderblock was ontop of my chest and between my legs (not ontop, only between while im under the sheets like she a hot dog lmao)

Otherwise, they jump on us or on the wardrobe, the chest of drawers, the bedside tables. However, I don't tolerate it and I kick everyone out of the room. Cats have a nocturnal life so it's not easy to keep them in the bedroom at night.😊

I had girls most my life. My last two were orange tabby males and the most 💕 cats I had. Loved my boys. The last one was mid age n was very happy and with me only a yr.n a half. He just would not stay away from naybor psycho's quail and I suspect it was his undoing. I so wish they would not plant quail n turkeys near people.
My other guy had thyroid disease n died at 12. Got thin as a rail. Dam vet lying to get my money saying we could maybe save him. U cannot.
He lost his sight! He had to be put to 'sleep'. Wonderful; ld boy. He stayed home better. Ponch lov d the outdoors. He stayed out afew hr.s at a time was all tho. I have forest on hill hehind my house. I have nvr lost a pet to the preditors tho. Peepl r what is dangerous.

Cristin Tamburo (a certified feline behavior consultant) says “The slow blink is a sign of trust”.

YUP....my cat is so protective of me....I went to take a bath and he never seen me take a bath before so when I got in the tub he came over and started meowing and checking me out his eyes were all crazy looking....he was scared I was gonna get hurt....he stayed in the bathroom the whole time....my cat totally loves me

This would drive me nuts. I mean there's a time and place for everything. So glad my cat leaves me alone at night. Sleep is EXTREMELY important, it's not a "nice to have". But my kitty sometimes likes to wake me at 6am or so - I'm fine with that.

That's exactly what my cat, Larri (10 year old female), does with me at night....I don't move a lot at night...I sleep on my right side and she sleeps on my left hip...all night...cats are funny and very sweet. Great Video!!
My female cat Maisie used to sleep on my hip, too! It was like having a weighted blanket, and I slept so comfortably when she was there. Unfortunately, she died last year. I miss her so much. They really are a gift.

Ive heard of this. More than that -I’ve actually experienced it before too. I’ve experienced it maybe twice in my whole life on TH-cam . Not too bad. I hear about there are people who come to TH-cam etc, not really for the right reasons, but to especially to try to hurt people or do something strange. Its that phenomenon you hear about -people who are empty who can use the anonymity of the internet to try to find people to try to hurt, so they can then get a rush to feel big for one minute. Sort of puffs you up. Its nothing new, I know. But it has still given me a sharp unpleasant surprise when I’ve actually encountered it. Ive seen two fabulous TH-camrs get it done to them too. The Second time i saw it, it was in the comments section underneath a video by a war veteran who runs a ‘how to’ camping channel . Thats when i realised it was just about trying to hurt, because no one could ever find anything legitimately wring to be mean about with a simple healthy camping channel. ! And i realised then, that people who do this, do it with the intent to create emotional response . Its not a true comment. . Sort of like bullies at school. Except that these ones are cowardly behind a screen where no one sees them. Pretty weak. But I understand it. I did some pretty pathetic stuff to others when i was younger to try and feel better. So i cant act above.. it’s actually quote interesting- Im in the process , right now, , of contacting people from my past who i hurt, to make amends for putting them down, and other harms. So maybe the higher power sent me someone similar to myself in the past , just to rub it in about how awful it feels to be at the other end of someone’ who wants to put you down. So thats good. Doesn’t FEEL good. But good medicine often doesn’t feel good . The Lord works in mysterious ways, they say. Extraordinary coincidence. This is the last correspondence ill need with you. But thank you

It happens and it wouldn't surprise me if intentionally. Cats are known to be the world most adorable intelligent assholes. When mine does this sometimes he demands pets and cuddles and if he doesn't get it he starts to walk on my head or jump on me from the head board and spring off of me. I'm getting him to warm up to my partner so eventually I can get a full nights sleep here and there. So far the evil plan is taking hold my little spoon traitor is working like a villainous charm.

I read recently that cats sleep lightly so they can wake easily. The fact that we sleep soundly for several hours worries them and they like to keep checking up to make sure we're still alive - that's also why they're pleased when we wake up. It's not just about food, lol.

I love my 2 cats. The male cats sits on my back while I sleep and the female brings rats (toys) to me, as offerings. They are the best pets.

I learnt recently cats are really light sleepers & will have many light naps to get their rest. If a pack mate sleeps for too long they could be sick or in danger so cats like to check on or wake up their owners to make sure they're okay. The fact he's watching over you, warming you & grooming you makes it so much cuter 😊💕

Cats actually don't really give a shit if they wake you up or not, they can fall asleep in seconds, they don't understand it's not the same for us so that don't care if we wake up...
