I might be late commenting and you won’t see this but please let me say I soooo appreciate details you offer in your videos. It was very useful for you make the point of the different color of light the lamps gave off. Painting the inside of the shade to give off the warmth you liked in the other lamps. The worst that could happen is that the paint doesn’t achieve what you were looking for is that you’d do is buy shades with gold interior. Won’t hurt to try!

i swear, i think people on marketplace think that if its older than them, it MUST be an antique! lol. either they don't know the word "vintage" or they don't know what an antique is. i chuckle when i see sewing machines from the 60s listed as antiques. that black cabinet looks to be late 80s/early 90s i would think. i'm definitely not an expert. just remember living the period. can't wait to see what you do with these pieces! i'm definitely a wait and see person on the bed frame. it looks to be in great shape. i was in habit for humanit this week. she was showing me these posts that she thought were porch columns. NO! they were BED POSTS! they were massive and at least 8 feet tall! she had the whole bedroom suit and they were all sized to match. they were beautiful. knowing h4h, i'm sure they will be priced very high.
Have you tried rinsing your hair in vinegar? That gold taper candle holder would look beautiful painted of course but also those glass pieces that fit in where the tapers go.

I absolutely love the bed as it is, it reminds me of French New Orleans. However, I would wait to paint it until I knew exactly how I want to decorate the room. Your three arms sconce is vintage, the earliest I can remember it is from about 1973, could be earlier. But it was designed to give a French or Tuscan feel. Your beautiful cabinet is also so lovely, I think I would be tempted to repaint that charcoal and put it in with the bed. Such deals!
Love the riser. This is my FAVORITE HAUL you have ever done. Probably because you bought some large key pieces. Doesn’t it just make your day when you have a great haul day. I love half baskets as well. Those works be beautiful on a door. I have double doors, which I do not care for; I would really like those. You will love the suction cup candles. They work great with window wreaths. I think the Decorating Gods decided to give you a great haul because you have been doing so much Manuel labor. You really needed this.

The cameras are so high definition that if you don't use a filter, it seems to magnify any flaw. You would be able to count my pores. 😆 maybe one day I'll do a before and after video clip. Xoxoxo
I absolutely love your taste. Everything you found is right up my alley. Your gold candleholder for the tapers, I call that ornate and I am over the moon about anything ornate. It is never out of style as far as I am concerned. It is classic. The scarf holders that you plan to use as bookends are a score. I know you will make them look like a million bucks but they are great as is, too. If you have a store called Ollie's nearby check their paint section. They get close outs and overstock. Usually there is a decent selection of paints and lots of wood stains, too.
U got the bed for an amazing price, I think! It isnt flimsy yet it's still airy, very eye pleasing! This is a piece u can utilize for many years to come and to me that makes it worth its weight in gold.
I love the scrolled candle wall medallion! $6 is a steal! You are correct that alot of ppl pass that style up as I find alot of it my thrift stores!. I used that paint them a darker wrought iron but now a softer linen white for a french country look. My entire home was a Tuscan/traditional and Im amazed how painting it all whiter easily transitions to French country.! Our decor stye is very similar and why I enjoy your videos so much.

When I saw those Habersham French demilunes at a high end consignment store, I fell in love with them but the price was a whopping $965 each. I love quality but at a better price so, I waited until they dropped the price and swooped them up. They were definitely investment pieces but I'll keep them forever. Did you see the French consoles/nightstands that Jessica @ French Farmhouse Flair found on FB Marketplace? They are gorgeous and she shows them in her bedroom tour video. You got a good price on your queen bed. It is really nice. I love it in the dark wood. Also like the cabinet too. It does need repainting. It is a good buy too. Very nice. I like the detail on it. You have found some great things. I would paint the cabinet black. Great video!!

That cabinet is beautiful, definitely paint that, maybe a french blue or sage green with a whitewash or dry brush technique on the raised moldings. Can't wait to see what you do with them. I also love scrolly, antique looking things despite current trends. I enjoy the things I like and I feel the same way about other people’s taste, they should have the freedom to enjoy what they like. I appreciate the skills and knowledge of professional designers and architects but I don’t think they should dictate to any of us no matter what is current!

I would paint the cabinet Navy Blue, and maybe lighten up the chicken wire with a brassy gold...? I'm sure that whatever you choose it will be beautiful!

I'd paint it red with the flowers black but like an antique red with black going through it. Killer deal on both it and the bed🔥🤘😁 Also like the scrolly tapered candle holder...very cool.

I also love scrolly, antique looking things despite current trends. I enjoy the things I like and I feel the same way about other people’s taste, they should have the freedom to enjoy what they like. I appreciate the skills and knowledge of professional designers and architects but I don’t think they should dictate to any of us no matter what is current!
