I think zelo's voice has always been that low since YW&F.. because in prayer, his voice there was deeper than usual.. I think he intentionally made his voice higher in the recent songs so that it's closer to his voice before 2014.. idk.. that's what i think.. from what i remember, he talked about having to raise his tone a bit higher to match his younger voice during the matrix comeback...

I think it's the opposite, he is used to rapping with a higher voice, but for those smexy songs he purposefully makes his voice lower to kill us all :D

I was weirded out by Moondance first listen too.. then I fell in love the 2nd time lol. Facepalm* I totally fell asleep ytd looping Think Hole and Moondance.. they give me fantasy anime vibes.. and those songs are just so beautiful and chill and atmospheric.
