- Time for a winter reset! It's January, Christmas has come and gone, and it's time to settle in for those cold, dark nights of January and February. In this video, we'll explore the terms "hygge" and "wintering" and how we can adapt them to our lifestyles this season. We'll also do a decor reset of our living room, taking down the Christmas decorations, making DIY pillow covers, filling the space with candles and cozy blankets, etc. I'll show you the winter dress I just finished and we'll make one of my favorite winter recipes: spiced applesauce bread with ream cheese filling.
If you enjoyed the video, it would mean so much if you can give it a thumbs up and subscribe for more!

I go from Xmas decorations to Valentine’s Day decorations! The red, white, pink colors really cheers me up in the winter after Xmas is over with! After that I go into Saint Patrick’s Day, Easter, Mother’s Day, Memorial Day, etc! Thanks for this beautiful vlog you love 💕 birds!
A couple years ago I decided to keep my kitchen window candles in place throughout the year because it just added "warmth". I turn them on nightly until summer when the sun is out until nearly 9pm (!)
Mixed fabrics & textures, throw blankets, fluffy pillows, wood and cloth decor, a few candles and white lights - all go a long way for cozy comfort for me.
I enjoy some seasonal greenery as well as indoor plants, too. It brings in a freshness and "life" in the midst of natural dormancy. Your fireplace greenery is lovely!
I knew you were cool when me and my mom started watching you and alessio but I really think that me and you are kindred spirits I have been obsessed with the Romanov’s since I was a kid
I love knitting and sewing and crocheting just got to get back into it
Sending love ❤️ from Niagara Falls New York USA side from me and my mom
My mom says absolutely love you guys so much ❤ I have been praying for you both for your hearts desire of having a child. All Things are possible with God ❤
100% kindred spirits! So many things in common! Thank you both for all of your kindness and prayers. It means a lot to us ♥️
@ You’re quite welcome 🤗
Love seeing young people embracing DIY and not giving in to the overconsumption trend. Kudos to you both. You are very talented, thank you for sharing. One tip on the bookcases: string some lights or lay some on the shelves. Helps with light and ambience and doesn't have to be "Christmassy"
Thank you for sharing your life with your tube family. A good reminder that it is ok to have days to do nothing but relax and enjoy the life we have.
I suffer from winter depression (seasonal affective disorder) and this was SUCH a great video for me! Thank you SO much for posting ❤
So excited that you are starting a new channel! The entire aesthetic of your home is absolutely charming! I especially love how you've decorated the bookshelves and the mantel above the fireplace. I've been looking for a craft to start as a newbie to the arts and crafts world and am excited to learn more about sewing and crocheting. Thank you for sharing!!! 💓
My favorite author is Phillipa Gregory! I own every one of her books. Love medieval literature and history. I also do crocheting and sewing. Working right now on curtains for my kitchen. Dark, reddish burgundy... almost paprika looking in color. I'm thinking of doing a matching tablecloth or a runner as well. It will match my dishes and Lagostina pots and pans. Working on a farmhouse look to the kitchen. I love the fact that you've made this channel. I would do something myself. I have good days and bad days with my speech. It wasn't dealt with until recently. The doctors figured, what was wrong. So, I'm waiting for a call on rhat. It's all good.❤ Back to sewing!🪡🧵⛴️
I love Phillipa Gregory too, but I’ve only read a few of her books. Which is your favorite? The curtains sound so lovely. I’ve been loving all things burgundy lately and the farmhouse vibe you mentioned is exactly what I want to bring into ours as well! So much in common! I hope everything is well with you medically. Sending a big hug!
Jessi, your videos are so relaxing and much needed for this stressful world. Thank you! 💛 Also, my husband is Norwegian and they have Hygge too. It means coziness :)
This was so inspiring and cozy! Thank you for sharing this part of your life with us!!
I really like this kind of video: It's really cozy, relaxing, heartwarming and lovely 😍 You did a great job Jessi, keepmgoing!💪🏻🥳
AGREE WITH YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Can already tell from 1 video I’m going to love this channel!
Love to see more of your guys' lives! And it felt so calming 😊 Like if I need a video to watch before bed, this would be perfect since it's fun but the music and asmr moments are really peaceful
I absolutely LOVE this video. I am excited to see more! I have subscribed to your 1st channel for a while. Keep up the good work!❤
I have watched 1 minute and I already love this. Best idea of the year.
Edit. And I'm Danish and yes we "hygger' all year round but mostly in the dark period.
Ahh yay! Thank you! And thanks for inspiring me with your hygge 😊
I had to laugh...my daughter was working on a fabric project and she mopped the floor to work down there (too big for a table), laid out the fabric...and... our 65lb Shepard decided it was the perfect place to get some attention and nap. BTW, the bookcase looks GREAT!! Nice work ❤. We were so disappointed. We were supposed to get snow too, but it was only sleet and freezing rain. I was so sad, but we still baked cookies and made a pot of corn chowder.
😂 animals always have to be in the middle! And thank you about the bookcase. I’m finally at peace with it haha. Glad you guys still made the freezing rain cozy!
My grandmother taught me how to crochet back in the late 80's when I was home sick from school. I still crochet today at 45. Grandma said since I know that, I'll always be able to keep myself warm. I expanded into knitting too.
This is so my type of video. Thank you so much. Just watching your video made me feel a bit of Hygge. As for the pillow covers the lady who taught me always rounded her corners as it still made corners but softer ones and fit a pillow insert better. If you want to know more what to do you can just ask more and I'll try and make a video of it.
Love the cozy vibes🧣
Thank you!!! I had a very rough 2024. I needed this reminder to slow down, rest, work on something that got overlooked, and to eat something yummy. I also felt like I came over to your house and got to hang out with you, Alesio, and the cat. Thank you for that too! 🧡🧡🧡🧡
Yall are so sweet with yalls cat🐱💚😊
So happy to support your new channel! Applesauce bread sounds yummy for a winter's day.
Lovely video. Alessio did well, those are sweet, thoughtful gifts. The very best gifts are those that recognize and honor the recipient.
Winter blues are alive and thriving here in Dayton OH. I have been forcing bulbs to bloom in the house to remind me that spring is coming. I love the library, there is something calming about actually holding a book. My winter project is to become a better knitter. Love watching you
Your channel is so lovely Jessi. Thank you for creating this channel.
You’re a great storyteller.
💖✨👸🏼
Thank you so much!
Love your new channel. I get in a seasonal funk and I love the idea of wintering. I want to see the temperature blanket you are working on. I want to make one for my son.
The video I didn't know I needed today. ❤ I can't wait to see more of your videos and see a different perspective than the videos on your other channel. 😊
I LOVE this video! So relaxing.
I love this vibe so cozy 🥰 you e inspired me to take down my Christmas tree. A chore I dread. I suffer from seasonal depression. Love your suggestions ❤
I love your new channel! 🤗
Very well done, nice & relaxing video. And what's needed for many ~ thank you. You both have built a lovely home together. 😊
Your bookcase looks so pretty and battery candles are so nice and much less worrisome than real candles, esp. with a cat! I must agree with Alessio though, the lampshade looks too short.
Nice to see sewing projects. Cute dress! Maybe this old retired seamstress will be inspired to break out my machine again, but
I'd rather bake that bread!! Yum!!
As you spoke, I was reminded of a favorite song called Snow by Loreena McKennitt. It has that same dreamy, homey feel.
Wow!! I am going to love your new channel! I have been sewing for 60 years and I love it. Being Italian American I cook Mediterranean and all our sweets! I also started watercolor painting 4 years ago! What a fabulous hobby!
Great video Jessi. Love the vibe. Can't wait too see more! The bookcase Is beautiful!
Thank you! Finally at peace with the bookcase… for now lol
Ohh so cozy!! I love the new lampshade!😊
That was a great first video Jessi. 😊
Love your channel, thanks for sharing. Going to try your recipe 😊
Oh yess! I fight it with cozy candles--even the battery powered ones give a nice cozy feeling and look great in book cases! Love that you crochet! And yes, We keep the Christmas joy, and our nativity, up until February 2. You two are so sweet!
Congrats on your first new channel post ! 🎉 The applesauce cake looks delicious! It would be perfect with some tea.
This was the coziest video. I enjoyed it very much.
I loveeee this! It's my ideal content. I'm recovering from chronic illness flare and burnout so this resonated with me. I would love to see how you make your beautiful dresses :)
This was so lovely.
I feel peaceful, cozy, and contentment watching it. 🥰.
Thank you so much. Those are exactly the vibes I was going for!
I really, really enjoyed this. I am of the same mindset & am also a very seasonal person. Loved the tip about reading seasonally. Loved all of your projects! Perfectly cozy 🕯
Wonderful! I always struggle to slow down, even in the winter. This got me inspired.
Congratulations on your new channel! Really enjoyed your content. I can't wait to see more!
Hooray for your new channel! Loved your video! The bookshelf turned out so nice! Can’t wait to see what you get up to next ❤️
I love that you have your own channel as well.
Thanks for this new channel, Jessi. So happy to support you guys!!!
I too make pillowcases. I love sewing so much!
It’s like therapy 🥰
Our local library has the most adorable "Hygge at Home" program. The librarian makes project kits and every month my 10yo daughter and I get to pick up our kits and make a little Hygge item for our home! We are major library rats around here.
Winter solstice is a cozy winter read.
Love the vibes! Thank you for such a comforting video :)
Just remember that there is no rule about when to take down the Christmas decorations. In Poland we keep them up till the first week of February, so why not do it the Polish way and feel cozy for longer ;-)?
Congratulations on your channel. I'm happy I will be able to say I was one of your first subscribers when you reach a million followers!!
Love everything about your new channel Jessi. Love crochet, sewing, cooking, decorating and painting. So looking forward to your videos! - Leslie W. (in eastern Tennessee!)
Recipe written in the description or on-screen text for a screenshot would be fabulous for next time! That bread looks DE-licious!!

This is my favorite content on TH-cam! I’m soo glad you felt like sharing and THIS is the content you wanted to posts about!! 😭❤️
Thanks for sharing some of your passions! Your use of hygge in your home turned out wonderful! You have inspired me to find some fabric at our neighbourhood second hand store and recover a pillow that I have. I have also picked up crocheting and find it relaxing. I am enjoying learning something new. We don't have snow yet here on the southwest coast of Canada but we sure do have rain and gloomy skies! Good to have candles and the hygge feeling :)
I love this new channel!!! Thanks so much for posting! My wife and I always love watching the adventures of Jessi and Alessio! I just made a triple batch of spiced banana bread since I had SO many overripe bananas in the freezer. Your Spiced Applesauce Bread looks DELISH!
Ooo banana bread is one of my favorites. I need to try a spiced version! And thank you so much for your kind support. Can’t wait to share more here!
Sending love from a much warmer down under. I really enjoyed seeing all these activities and the little tutorials, I could have watched a much longer video on it all! Great cinematic shots, making me really crave winter vibes here. I look forward to seeing more :D

Wash and iron fabric before sewing! Make them removable so you can change out the season or by whim!

I loved it! Congratulations! 🎉
Very nice, This felt very intimate!
My favorite reads are “cozy” mysteries!!!! There is something warm and familiar about them!
What a cozy and relaxing video! How nice of you to share your wintering practices and reflections.
We have a fake christmas tree we take all the deccorations off and leave tree up as a night light through winter. It comes down in spring. No idea why i started the tradition but it like light in the darkest time of the year.
Congrats on starting your own channel! Great first video! 😊❤🐦
Hello and Happy New Year from Pennsylvania!🎉 I've been a loyal follower and I'm going to enjoy these visits with you! May all of your wishes & prayers come true in 2025.🙏 😇🥰

More Micia to come! 🐈⬛
I Love this types of Videos so glad you got to make your own Channel ❤️😍 god Bless you and your Family 🙏
Jessie, this was absolutely lovely!
This was a really lovely video! Thanks for sharing!
I really like your choice of reading materials! Great content, and I wish you a very Happy New Year!
Thank you! You too!
Happy new year, Jessi, Alessio, and Micha! I just wanted to say there was so much warmth conveyed through this video. Micha is so much like my cat, Freyja. Black cats are truly special. Your tree was absolutely spectacular. I gave away most of my xmas things years ago, as we aren't religious, and a young single mum wanted to have something for her kids. Your tree makes me want to at least have fairy lights during the evening for that lovely glow. All the best for 2025.
Thank you Jessi 🌱
Bravissima! ❣️
I have discovered the Hoopla app and now I have the library at my finger tips. But I do love to wander the stacks now and again. Your shelves/mantel look great. Way to cozy up the room with you new pillows.
Your dress is so cute. I am jealous of your overlock machine. I'm still zigzagging over here.
The vibe is vibing!
Well done!
