After a VERY long time it's finally here, my Unhelpful Guide to Sakura Gakuin! I hope you enjoyed learning about this group and the members, or if you're a fan, I hope you enjoyed nonetheless!
Apologizes for a small bit of songs getting claimed. I edited the discography multiple times before to avoid that but Amuse and TOY'S FACTORY really hate when more than 10 seconds of their songs are used. The major song that got claimed is about a minute of Mezase! Super Lady (2019 Nendo), so, if you even read this before getting to that part, you can skip past it.

Edit: 7/2/2024: In the miscellaneous section of the guide, more so the section with footage of the Shouh Gakuen play had to be entirely cut out due to an unfortunate copyright block. The part was me describing the overall plot and characters of the play, and a short explanation of SG using their songs in the play with lyric modifications to match the theme of said play. A 5-second clip of the group performing Pumpkin Parade also had to be cut due to copyright. I apologize for the inconvenience. (And screw Amuse🙄)

BABYMETAL were the "Heavy Music Club" (重音部, Jūonbu), not the "Heavy Metal Club".
It's a deliberate contrast with 軽音, keion, which means "light music", a popular school club.
BABYMETAL held their 'Legend Z' concert on February 1st, 2013, where BABYMETAL were "reborn" as an independent group.
Both Yui and Moa posted diary/blog entries after 'Legend Z', but before Su's graduation in late March, where they talked about being asked if they wanted to continue in BABYMETAL after Su graduated from SG.
Yui decided "Yes!" right away, while Moa took a while to seriously think it over before she decided this was something she could fully commit to.

I think one factor in dissolving the group would be the large number of graduates finding work in the acting and voice acting fields.
That's not something the singing and dancing experience in Sakura Gakuin would be as relevant towards.
I feel like that SG is somewhat still alive because of Babymetal. Momo, Moa, Su, and Yui (I hope she’s well wherever she’s at) all carry that, and still play Doki Doki Morning still to this day! That’s dedication, and they haven’t forgotten where they came from!

This was an amazing, beyond amazing, job. You showed stuff about Sakura Gakuin I didn't know existed. I enjoyed the cookie as well 😃.
I didn't realize that Ayaka, Airin, and Mariri were the only three not to have student council positions, Moa and Yui being transfer in students without having a transfer in ceremony. Those facts I didn't know until this video.
I wished I had tissue, I cried several times, especially at the end, knowing that the ending of The Great Academy took place, it hurt like a sledge hammer to the gut. Hearing Kokona Nonaka give the final statements was like a very sad eulogy, it hurt THAT badly in my heart.
I know things come to an end, but I really believe what I'm about to say, I believe that Sakura Gakuin NEEDS to be brought back together, I believe they are needed now more than ever. The setup they had was like nothing I've ever seen, and haven't seen anything like it since, they showed the world that it was perfectly okay to be talented AND intelligent.
All in all, Sakura Gakuin, in my opinion, wasn't the Gold Standard, nor wasn't the Platinum Standard, they were the Diamond Standard when it came to idol groups, they were stacked for eleven years with talented and intelligent young ladies who are, in their own rights, True Super Ladies, and more than earned the right to be called as such. All 36 of them, 37 if you count Kokona Kato of Metalverse. This was THE idol group of ALL idol groups.

Thank You for this, as someone who occasionally uploads self made videos to YT, I realise how much time and effort you would have put into this project. A few people have pointed out some minor errors and I have an extremely pedantic one to add. You stated there were 206 episodes of Fresh Monday but actually there are 208. For some reason the double episode 2017 outdoor school special wasn't given episode numbers, unlike 2018 (Ep60/61) and 2019 (Ep112/113). Thus although the last episode in classed as #206 there are 208 in total.
i was introduced to sg through babymetal but never had a proper introduction to it so i was just putting pieces together on my own. naturally there’s a lot that i missed so thank you for this!

I really appreciate your work and dedication to make this guide and hope you get a lot of view for your hard work.
Since you asked for mistakes in the video luckily there are not that many, here are some points I found or maybe misinterpreted.
At 7:54 you accidentally said May 29th instead of March 29th for the original date for RTG 2019, later in the video when you spoke about the event the date was correct.
At 1:50:18 you said the first festival was 2013 and had a 4 year hiatus before returning in 2017. I'm not sure if you were talking about DVD releases which would be the correct, but the SG festival itself was every year from 2010 to 2019.
At 1:54:05 It's more a confusing than a wrong point. You said the commercials featured members from the 2010 and 2011 nendo which is correct when you meant specifically the TV commercials and not the campaign itself which also featured members of the 2012 nendo.
At 2:22:30 You said Nene and showed the interview of Hinata.
At 2:22:39 You listed Megumi as one member who retired from the entertainment business, she was on TV as Oha girl until 2019 and was in a hand full of commercials and TV shows until she left Amuse last year.
Some of the other members how stepped out of the public eye appear here and there, you can see Yunano in some Instagram reels of her company and Saki S. was Niigata Tourism Ambassador from 2020 to 2021 and appears sometimes in model shoots on Instagram.
Well done Babbimetal , what a fantastic video , thanks for the amount of effort you put into all your videos , it is hugely appreciated by many many people who don't leave a comment as well as the few that do . Please keep on making content .

i was originally going to attach a 'where are they now' segment to the final part of the guide but decided against it since i knew it would run up the length time😭 maybe in the far future i will do that

Sakura Gakuin festival info is not correct. 2013 is not the first festival, festival was held every year since the beginning in 2010, even 2020 nendo also had semi-festival, it never have 4 years hiatus, they held it every year, they just didn't release the record. Skit and Sakurademy weren't introduced in 2017 they had skit every year since 2011 and Sakurademy since 2012.
Great job on the documentary aspect. But the AI narration is awful! I know English is not your native language, but it will be more natural if you narrate it yourself. Or find someone who can speak English more fluently. Please.
english is my native language(i'm from the U.S) i just don't feel comfortable using my actual voice for narrating or talking in general on videos that's all :/
